We were surprised that it was litterally right next to the train station, which was handy when heading back. The Tullie Inn was clean and inviting. The staff were really lovely, fun and attentive. I loved that even on checkout day, we were allowed to leave our luggage and then pick them up later that day. My friend and I were in Loch Lomond for the kilt walk, so it was decently close to the location. Our room was cosy and clean, had nice amenities, and had a massive tv. Breakfast was included in our stay, and it wasn't too bad, but the price was pretty good. We had a wonderful stay and would love to visit again ♡

Arrived by train and is literally right next to station. Free car parking available too. We received a very friendly welcome from staff. Arrived a little early, but the room was ready. Didn't spend any time in room other than sleeping but it was nice and cosy. Really comfortable beds, got a good nights sleep. Small bathroom with walk in shower cubicle, lovely Arran soaps etc provided. Huge fluffy white towels. I usually guage stay by good quality toiletries and towels. Plenty hanging space. Big modern fan, and Nespresso coffee machine. Didn't eat dinner as we like to go out but returned for drinks in bar which was very nice. Plenty seats for relaxing with a wine or having food. Breakfast was lovely, usual choices, Self service for juice, yogurt, cereal and toast. Freshly made hot food. Will definitely return

What's not to like

We had a lovely stay at the Tullie Inn last night. We had a family room which was huge, one room with twin beds, one with a double and a huge family bathroom with big bath and a shower. The staff were brilliant, very attentive but not overpowering. The guy who checked us in also served our food and was very informative on both the menu and the local area. The food was delicious, you know it’s a good menu when you really can’t decide what to go for. Breakfast was served in the conservatory, I can recommend the Eggs Benedict. We’ll stay here again if in the Loch Lomand area

Very nice place to stay with lovely food in a really good location. Next to the train station if you wanted to travel out, but you wouldn't know it you could hardly hear the trains. The bed was huge and really comfy. Everything needed was provided in the room. All staff are very friendly and chatty. Boat trips from just across the road and a indian and chippy restaurant within walking distance if you don't want to eat at the inn.

The bins being emptied after midnight one night, and guests being loud in the corridor after last orders the next night, and continuing the party in their room into the early hours this ment we had 2 nights interrupted sleep. I understand this is a pub but these guests showed no consideration for others.

The room was nice. Could do with a bit of tlc as hasn't been redecorated for some time but wouldn't put us off staying there again. Bed so comfy, slept like a baby. Good selection on tea tray and there was also a coffee machine in the room. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Can't do enough for you. Hotel location was perfect. Right next to Balloch train station. Across the road from Balloch park, if you fancied a lovely walk. The breakfast in the morning was delicious 😋. Compliments to the chef. Really set us up for the day ahead. Would highly recommend The Tullie Inn to all my family and friends. We will certainly be staying there again.

We've stayed here a few times. The staff are fantastic, from the bar staff in the evenings to the two ladies who always seem to be there in the mornings. They are welcoming and definitely not dull. It's a relaxed atmosphere and very homely. We've stayed in different rooms, and from the smallest to the largest, all were clean and comfortable. We're regular visitors to the area, so we'll stay here again.

New menu. This is a good thing, as the food has, for us, historically been the only weak point. I loved the lamb shank shepherds pie. My gf did not like the pork belly. Still work to do there.

Location and comfort most of all. I was going out for the evening and didn't have much time to get ready. I was delighted to find an iron, ironing board and hair dryer located exactly where I could find them quickly and easily. The bathroom was just right for me - places to put things and a choice of bath or shower. I liked the atmosphere in the whole establishment. I was nervous as I had come to Balloch on the train to take part in a poetry reading and the comfort and cleanliness of Tullie helped me to relax.

I would have liked porridge or muesli, plain yoghurt (not fat reduced) and a greater choice of fruit at breakfast. The cooked breakfast however was delicious. Some grilled tomatoes and greens (rocket or lettuce) would have made it even better.

Booking online was easy and got the dates I wanted at a very good price for two nights B&B. Location was exactly as described. Easy to find and I had a car park space for duration. Staff were friendly and welcoming from the start. Seamless check in. Helpful when ordering food and drinks. Food was gorgeous. Really hot and loads of choice Breakfast was plentiful, both the help yourself continental and the ordered hot. I had a small breakfast and it filled me for the day with the cereal, toast/ pastry. Eggs Benedict on day 2 also good. Bar food was very good. I didn't eat in restaurant itself at night, preferring to stay in bar area. Hunters Chicken and chunky chips excellent. Good range of bar drinks. Reasonable prices. Lots of places to sit in comfort. Beer garden looked great too. Room itself was very comfortable and spacious. Delighted to have a bath as well as shower. Large TV. Good selection of room refreshments. Sweeney's cruises are right over the road. Balloch train station right beside. My room was facing station but no disturbance at all in night. Excellent all round for my trip and a super place to set off on walks or trips away. 10 minute walk to Loch shore shops. And a little further to castle. Plenty to do I would stay for longer next time.

Same as most places, creaking floorboards and some noise from surrounding rooms but not a bother through the night. Hot drinks machine not working during my stay...staff said was broken for two weeks. Happy enough with tea but a latte would have been nicer.

Perfectly situated next to the train station and across from the ferry cruises. Whilst the room didn’t quite reflect the price in regard to its standard, it was extremely clean and the Inn is perfectly situated which made the price per night well worth it. We ate in the pub below each night, with the staff were fabulous and smiley, breakfast was lovely along with the morning staff. We would definitely recommend going on the two hour ferry cruise across the road, catch the early ferry, jump off an hour later at the lovely village of Luss and the later ferry will pick you up for the last hour ride home on the Loch.

The location is fantastic. The staff when checking in were lovely and really welcoming. I’ve stayed a few times and will be back again.

The only issue I had was with the quality of the food. I opted for a light dinner of soup of the day. The soup was ok. The bread was a very low budget slice of white bread. Quite disappointing. I did bring this to staff who agreed the bread is sub standard for a good quality hotel. The bacon with the cooked breakfast the next morning was also very poor quality streaky bacon.
