Breakfast was ok. Plenty of everything you would expect from a Continental Breakfast, sadly no cooked breakfast on offer. Room was small but comfortable, bed very comfortable. Decor and ambience of room and hotel very nice. Location perfect for us, we had dinner plans but the food smelled and looked amazing when we were in the bar. Staff lovely.

Check out time, Come on guys 10 o clock on a weekend is not reasonable! The only thing about this hotel that i can and will complain about considering the price of an overnight, shame.

The hotel is lovely. The room we had was compact but comfortable and clean, and very quiet. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was spotless. Downsides: the coffee pod machine is a nice touch, however no pods are provided. The kettle was difficult to plug in as you needed to plug it into an extension cable under the table. The only mirror was in the bathroom which made it difficult to dry and style my hair - another mirror above the sockets in the room would solve that issue. All in all while we very much liked Riva, and would stay again, we didn't feel it was good value for the £170 per night price tag; we have stayed in places of a similar style and price point, and have had a much bigger room and a cooked breakfast (continental only during our stay at Riva).

Friendly greeting, good location, free parking opposite. The room decor was quirky and attractive, although the 'Rennie Mackintosh' style glass in the bathroom door was rather too see-through for privacy when using the loo.

Continental buffet breakfast was ok, but the fruit salad was past its best, and the tea had been brewed and left in a vacuum flask and was not hot enough.

The property was lovely, the decor was very quirky had an old but modern feel to it. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely bathroom and shower was great. Great view of the sea. The food was great at dinner.

The room could have been cleaned better a lot of dust about and some marks on the walls could do with a fresh coat of paint. Breakfast was very basic for the price you pay for the night. A cooked breakfast would have hit the spot.

Loved it all. The staff were amazing, friendly and very attentive, nothing was a bother and spent time to chat. The room was huge and very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless and very bright. It is the best shower I have ever had. Felt like I was in a waterfall in the rainforest. The food was fantastic especially the shin of beef, pure perfection. Highly recommend this hotel, even just for the shower. Thank you so much for making our stay amazing.

Lovely stylish room, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast options were a continental or a full Scottish cooked breakfast. We only had breakfast on one of the mornings, but it was really tasty! It was very central in Helensburgh, easy walk to everything, and only 15 min drive from Loch Lomond

Our room was incredibly warm! There was a heating panel, which didn’t seem to be connected to anything, so no matter what we did to it, it made no difference. Luckily, we were at the back of the hotel, so were able to keep the window open with little noise. The walls between the rooms are quite thin- we were unfortunate to have quite noisy neighbours on our first night which impacted my sleep- but I’m a light sleeper! No other issues the following two nights.

We stayed here for our anniversary and also attended a friends wedding! The staff were so accommodating and even offered us a room upgrade which was so so lovely of them! Truly a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back!

Would love a hot breakfast included, I know it’s not always easy to make and keep things warm but would be a nice addition. The breakfast was still lovely though, lots to choose from and very fresh!

The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful, and they were very understanding about our late check-in due to traffic. The hotel itself was beautifully presented and felt really homely. The location was great for getting around Helensburgh, right on the sea front, so easily walk to any of the local amenities.

Honestly, only as a slight niggle, as my son and I were in a twin room, and the bathroom door was slightly see through.

The whole experience from start to end was amazing. The staff at the hotel were welcoming and attentive. I would highly recommend this place. It was absolutely spotless. I would use the the word immaculate. If anything the price of the actual hotel is a bit higher than others in the local area but you get what you pay for. Once again the staff are so lovely and friendly

For me which is a preference they don’t do any local draught beers or lagers. It’s more a taste thing. Can’t please everyone all the time.

Sea view facing room , well designed interior. Great staff especially Christine who was so helpful

Poor mattress in room , poor pillows also. Lazy room cleaner , room not serviced despite leaving the sign showing to be cleaned. Pillow cases not put on properly, only hoovered once in a 6 night stay , cups not washed , tea making facilities not topped up , one toilet roll left
