The staff were amazing, so warm and friendly. Being able to bring my pup with me was a real bonus. Breakfast options were fantastic too. Side door access for out of hours entrance.

The rooms are a little tired but impeccably clean and well presented. The bar downstairs had a brilliant band in on Saturday night worth a listen but might be an idea to bring earplugs if you plan on sleeping before 10.30pm when they stop playing.

Whilst the hotel was obviously a little old it was well looked after. The room was lovely and the bar was comfortable. Breakfast was basic but we knew about that beforehand and it was perfectly adequate. The night porter / barman was really friendly. He was chatty without being overbearing and certainly knew plenty about the local area. The breakfast staff were also friendly and helpful.

The location was ideal for us but not very central.

The Gin House is a cheap and cheerful b&b hotel it more than met my expectations at it's price point. It is situated in a great location at the side of a lovely square planted with flowers and between the high street and the riverbank. There was entertainment in the bar on Saturday night, a theatre across the road. Also a Witherspoons plus some restaurants are just a couple of minutes walk away. The staff were very helpful and friendly, I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel overall was good enough, and the staff were very nice. The room was clean. There was a lovely wee social club downstairs where there was a live jam and that was lots of fun.

There was no wifi code and sadly, the breakfast was not much at all- very basic. Also, we had issues with locking our door at night. The hotel is fine, but with a few upgrades it could be excellent!

Family of 5 stayed two nights as we had our great-niece's wedding on the Saturday. Great location, near shops and restaurants. Had a lovely walk along the waterfront. Interesting historic buildings. We were looked after well by Kiara over the weekend. Very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable rooms. A great continental breakfast. Great value.

Staff fantastic good location

Obviously a newish place , Improvement of things, like the Wifi password missing from rooms, It would be a good idea to add It to the back of doors or key fob Perhaps a a guest directory for people to use to look for recommended restaurants ior attractions around the town. Useful information inc the history of the building etc.

Clean room, welcoming staff. Free parking. Free drinks from the bar besides, I think it’s for the live music until 10pm which might be annoying for some people who needs sleep.

No lift. Breakfast is a let down said by my partner. He was expecting a Scottish breakfast. For me, I like it to have basic toast with jam/ coffee and juices.

We were getting married in port glasgow,the hotel upgraded our room on arrival.The staff were amazing & couldn't do enough for us.Continental breakfast was more than expected,we would recommend this hotel,& although 230 moles away we will be back

The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming and make you feel at ease I have been staying here for work purposes and insist on staying here This hotel is very underrated the only set back is no restaurant but I believe this is going to change soon Five stars from me 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿😍

Lovely place, absolutely clean, staff where fantastic, ever so helpful, continental breakfast was great, breakfast area was very clean, it was great that this hotel is dog friendly aswell.

Only one downer, the lift wasn't working, but I think that's due to the cost of maintenance for it ?
