Traditional style inn; peaceful attractive village location. Food was very good quality, well cooked and presented. The majority of staff we encountered were friendly, attentive and well informed. The barman - whose name I didn’t catch - had extensive drinks knowledge. Room and communal spaces/gardens were clean and well maintained. The beer garden area was small but we loved dining out there nonetheless, and as the weather was hot, it was far more comfortable than the restaurant, which had no suitable air conditioning. Room was small - as expected in the eves of the original building - but it was well equipped. The water was very hot & the shower powerful. Fortunately we also had excellent air conditioning or it would have been unbearably warm in there. Located above the main bar, it could be a little noisy until closing time but that didn’t spoil our stay. Great pillows and good quality bedding.
Due to the ‘add on’ nature of the rooms en suite, the shower cubicle was the smallest I’ve ever encountered. A larger person might struggle to fit or manoeuvre inside it. We also found the mattress to be too hard and a bit uncomfortable.

The ambience and decor and the room was very nicely done and very comfortable
We arrived at 2100 some 2.5 hours later than expected owing to significant delays on the channel tunnel and so missed dinner which we expected, but we were a bit surprised that we were asked (very politely by very welcoming staff I must say) to leave the bar area and take our drinks elsewhere as they were shutting shop at about 2130. The weather was balmy so we were able to finish our drinks outside in the very nicely done seating areas. Nonetheless, it is a lovely place in all respects and we will return and make every effort to be in time for dinner.

Excellent place to stay. Takes a little longer than I’d expected to get into Cambridge with the morning traffic, but still a really lovely place to stay. So much nicer than the city centre hotels I’ve stayed in the past. Very nice food!
The breakfast started a little later than I’d like for a weekday (8am), which meant we had to miss out on the breakfast. We did manage to get some cereal but that was it. A 7am or 7:30am start for breakfast feels more sensible for people travelling for work. But I’d still happily stay again as the free parking, lovely dinner and very nice room were all great.

The pub was very easy to find and there was plenty of parking space. Our room was in an extension at the rear of the pub. There was a terrace outside with tables but you couldn't hear any noise inside the room. The room was lovely with a good sized bed and sliding doors to a spacious modern shower room. Plenty of storage and there was a fridge in the lobby outside the room where we could get fresh milk and bottles of water. Breakfast and evening meals were fabulous and we were even treated to a glass of 'fizz' each as we were celebrating our anniversary 🥰
There was nothing we didn't like. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very friendly.

Nice quiet location. A short bus journey into Cambridge city centre. Bus stop is right outside hotel and runs every half hour. It was nice being able to leave car and not bother finding parking spaces. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The food was very tasty and good quality. Cannot fault the staff, always very pleasant and helpful, especially the lady who waited on us in the restaurant at night (sorry cannot remember her name) She was always very friendly and had a great knowledge of places to visit in the surrounding area.

We loved our January stay at the Crown & Punchbowl. The pub is beautiful and is so well kept. The bar/eating area is cosy with its beams and wood burning stove and is full of Olde world charm. The attached restaurant, with its oak framed windows looking out onto the garden, is lovely, too, with candles on every table, and the food was fabulous, both evening meals and breakfast. Our superior king room was beautifully decorated, warm, had a lovely view, a Nespresso coffee machine, tea and biscuits, TV etc. and had a great en-suite with a large shower. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We couldn't ask for more.

Staff were excellent, attentive and engaging but not overbearing in anyway. Dinner was excellent on both nights Prticulalrly memorable was the Guinea Fowl dish with taragon emulsion and Marsala sauce, it was delicious. Lovely wood burning stoves that add to the character. Breakfast is great, the bacon and sausage particulalry memorable and excellent quality. Poached eggs really nicely done. Room very clean comfortable and well equipped no in room Iron & Ironing board but one was readily available.
The bed and matress and laundry was of high quality but the matress didn't seem to agree with my much travelled back but you can't have it all, and its fair to say it may well suit other travellers just fine.

I've stayed here before, but it still exceeded expectations. Every bit about the stay and the hotel is right, & the attention to detail is admirable. What makes the difference is the staff - On my day of departure I was meeting friends for lunch, so did some work in the bar while I was waiting for them. The staff were setting up for numerous Xmas meals, so there was a lot of rushing around, but they still found time to offer me drinks, free chocolates. The food was fantabulous (if you like soft cheese, go for St Ceda) Do you know they even have screw adjustments on the feet of the tables so they don't wobble - genius!

Pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere Cosy pub. Room was spacious around bed. Mattress was a decent firm one. Air con / heating system good. Food very filling and flavoured nicely. Clean and tidy everywhere. Nice seating area outside. Parking was provided onsite. Room cleaned every day. Nice ales to drink according to husband. Husband pleased with cooked breakfast.
Lack of space between toilet and sink. My wife struggled to get on and off seat and she had to turn sidewards to manoeuvre and use sink to help get off toilet. Shower appeared to lose power and stopped working after a few mins. Old window in bedroom (forster) has very old frame window and doesn't close fully. So may be alot colder in autumn and no curtains, just a pull down Roman blind. Porridge was very stodgy initially but asked kitchen to dilute it down with hot milk. Could have done with some cupboard area lighting where clothes are hung. Rather dark area. Maybe in winter providing a top layer blanket for colder nights.

Lovely room, well-thought out, clean, welcoming and comfortable. I especially appreciated the full black-out blinds as it gets light so early in summer. Also the air-con! The pub is also nice with a pleasant terrace and the food was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Struggled to park on Sunday afternoon as there were so many patrons around for Sunday lunch.
