Very friendly and welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble despite our arriving later than anticipated on both evenings and needing an early start (and therefore an early breakfast) on the final day. The room was exceptionally ckean. The location was very nice overlooking the village green and the whole ambience was very relaxing. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Thanks for everything that made our trip. .

Nothing really as the property and staff more than met our expectations.

Location was great, bearing in mind it is a small, quiet village, with a relaxed atmosphere and a good selection of pub food. Breakfast was nice, including veggie options. Our room had a view of the local cricket pitch which was right over the road. Some reviews have said they found it noisy, I can't say that I did, I quite liked the tractors and combines trundling past tbh. Quite amusing having the shop attached to the pub, ppl coming in for essentials and having a pint! Brilliant! I always try and find somewhere a little more 'individual' for a stay over and this met my criteria. Why would you want the same old each time? They blur into one that way. I like character and this has it.

It could have been a little cleaner I would say. It wasn't a problem but there aren't many rooms so it should be easy. Just a bit dusty here and there, but I am looking for something to say here, it wasn't anything major and didn't bother us, and you probably wouldn't even notice.

The Old Red Lion is quite a quirky little place. It's a pub, village shop and Inn all rolled into one and is run by a lovely lady. The room was very well kept. Incredibly clean with a very, very comfy matress on the bed. The shared bathroom is very spacious and spotless with a roomy shower. It is next to a main road, but not a particularly busy one. It may feel a little odd when you check in but this place is incredible value for money. We were at a family wedding in the Hilton down the road and a room there would have been more than double the price for much less than double the value.

The shared bathroom was obviously a bit inconvenient but it didn't really matter considering the room was such good value. The room itself, while very clean, did feel a little empty. A couple of pictures on the wall would probably be all it'd need to remove that empty look. Be aware that the rooms are only accessible via steps, so if you do have any significant mobility issues then you should look elsewhere.

I loved the quirkiness of the place - pub, village shop & rooms all in one!

Whilst the shower was effective & plenty of hot water, the water didn't get hot or even warm from the wash basin tap. Also, my bad as didn't notice when I booked it, because of the location on the a40 there was a fair bit of traffic noise so had to close the windows & you could still hear it a bit.

The staff that looked after us from arrival to when we checked out were all fantastic, warm and friendly. Village shop within the bar area - brilliant & useful. Nice & simple accommodation & meals (all freshly cooked/prepared)

Requires another light above shower Softer pillows please Heating going off through the night, whilst we were there, outside temp -1c so it turned quite cold during the night.

The location was nice, overlooking the village green and on a road that was quiet at night. The rooms were big, individual and homely. Nice showers. Breakfast was good - quite a few local people from the area came along for that too. There was a small shop in the pub which was good as we'd forgotten our toothbrushes.

The coffee sachets in the room were not too good, but usually that's the case - the tea was lovely though.

Everything was available: pub, restaurant, nice rooms, bath room, usb plugs, windows that can open. The best stay we had during our roundtrip in England. We will visit Oxford again in future, and we will be looking to come back. Very nice lady's that run the business.

No negative points for this place.

The lady who looked after us jenny was excellent and kind. Her outstanding service and friendly nature was first class. She was so helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

The only issue (which is not the pubs fault) was the other couple staying were very loud. They kept going to their bathroom together which was accross from our room.

We didn’t have breakfast. It was a nice room, with comfortable bed and good shower.

The room was quite noisy with the noise of trucks thundering through town and noisy cars and motorbikes. We also got the smell of smokers from down below.

The breakfast (not included in price) was lovely. Plenty of choice, yet fresh cooked. My room was comfortable, though not overly big (didn't need to be for one night stay). Free parking right next to the hotel.

The bathroom was separate and shared (I expected this as clearly stated in hotel info.) In my bedroom I couldn't get the side light to work (no on/off switch that I could see. But I coped.
