We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Amelia. The room was maybe on the smaller size, but perfect for what we needed. The AC was wonderful in the 40 degree temps. There is a really nice terrace overlooking the lake which is great for watching the sunset. There is also a nice restaurant and bar down below which serves really nice food, and again, is perfect for watching the sunset. The location is perfect, very close to the swimming area, kayaking, and lots of restaurants and shops (although the island is so small, everything is close by!).

It would have been better if we had paid for early check in, because we arrived around 8 am, but had to wait hours to be able to get into the room. However that was our issue, not the hotel, as they were very accommodating and brought us ice water, allowed us to store our bags and use the rooftop terrace while we waited.

We had a lovely room on the first floor overlooking the water and because the windows are quite large, views from the room are very good. Bed is comfortable and there is constant hot water for the shower. There is aircon and a ceiling fan, a safe, TV so quite well equipped. Good range of breakfast menu options and portions are substantial. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, overall, a most pleasant stay.

Decoration within the room is a little basic but the rooms are spacious. There is a rooftop area that seems to have a bar but this was closed for refurbishment at the time of our visit.

The room was off a lovely terrace looking over the lake. At night it was noisy because of the location to the party boats departing and the street noise. The staff were extremely helpful.

The Wi-Fi and the air conditioner did not work. The room was very noisy at night due to location ( next to the party boats and the Main Street) after 12.30 it quietened down most nights but in the morning it was very noisy again. Not the hotels fault but if you are easily disturbed not the best location for you!

Great location and great value for money. The lakeside view from the restaurant was fantastic, great sunset. The waiting staff were fantastic, very attentive, as were the reception staff.

Yes I know I am in a spanish speaking country, and us Brits should make more effort, but most places have an English translation of food. I thought I was ordering granola and fresh fruit but got porridge instead, the joys of google translate.

We only stayed for one night so didn’t make use of all the facilities but the room was spacious, shower and bed were great

There was a lot of noise from the party boats that were in front of our room for a few hours before taking off. Also the airport taxi seemed overpriced (it turned out to be a shared) and they booked it at a different time than I had confirmed twice with them so we had to wait almost a half hour which is not great at 5.30 in the morning

This hotel's location is unbeatable! It has great views from the rooms and a lovely terrace to enjoy the sunset. The staff were very accommodating and someone was available 24/7. Even when I asked for hot water at 2 am, the front desk staff helped me get it. They always had recommendations and answered all of our questions about the hotel and island. Their restaurant also offered decently priced and delicious meals!

It doesn't offer parking, so make sure you know where to park on the island and the times to move your car. However, the staff will help you get settled.

The facilities are fine, the staff helpful, the restaurant was tasty, the beer cold, and they made box lunches for us to take with us. Pretty view of the lake from the hotel.

The only negative thing I can say is that there is a noisy bar/nightclub near that kept me from sleeping well. It was a Friday so the bar was active until late. My previous stay was on Sunday and I didn't have problems with noise.

Our favourite low price stay in Guatemala! It might not be a luxurious hotel but it was perfect. The rooms were exactly as in the photos & it was very clean! It was really appreciated that they were cleaning the rooms every day !! The restaurant was nice and affordable and everyone was kind and friendly (even with zero English). We highly recommend it!

The room was nice and clean with a good A/C, the breakfast and dinner at their restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. The location of the hotel is good. They helped us book a tour to Tikal (I guess every hotel does that there). They brought us back to the airport with their tuktuk for a fair price.

The shower had no pressure at all and was only tickling a little. Even after telling them it did not get better. We used water bottles and tap water for showering. While most of the staff were super friendly, the older woman (owner?) was quite grumpy. They arranged a airport transfer upon arrival for us, because there are no tuktuks after 7pm. Unfortunately the driver requested more money than it was agreed with the hotel. The hotel should choose their "partners" better to ensure agreed prices will be met.

Lovely location. Great terrace with an amazing view. My rooms were amazing, loved having air conditioner.

No wifi in the top rooms. Olga, one of the receptionists, often gave me false or incomplete information about tours and services in the hotel. She said my wifi should be working, then the manager confirmed it wasn't working for a long time. She signed me up for a tour but didn't mention what I had to bring or the kind of tour it was. I needed a flash light, rain coat and I had to walk long distances and lots of heights, I was not prepared. She said we would be back at 10am, we got back to the town around 1pm. Her attitude wasn't the best. The rest of the staff was amazing!
