The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. With the forest right in front of you, it’s truly something special. It’s super quiet and feels like a safe haven right in the middle of Ubud. Walking to the city center from up there doesn’t take too long, and the route is actually very scenic and enjoyable. The spa team was excellent. We had a few massages and loved every one of them – definitely a highlight for me, to be honest. The hotel’s restaurant served some amazing dishes. We also enjoyed a Kawa dinner with the lovely Indra, who put on an incredible fire show! We absolutely adored it. We also joined the Ubud tour offered by the hotel, and our guide/driver Santika was fantastic. We had such a great time with him – he explained a lot about Balinese culture and everyday life. Thank you, Santika! You’re amazing! All in all, it’s a hotel I would definitely return to. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Thank you dear team kastara - we had a wonderful time!

A hotel with a very high service culture and a high level of service. The service staff is fantastic in everything. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant with a nice view of the pool and the jungle. Of course, nature views from the room and the superb pool. The flower bath in the room was charming. The room is spacious enough with an elegant design. We loved it. The terrace-like balcony with a bathtub and a view of the jungle is wonderful. On the other side of the hotel, across the street, or by walking to the left, you can enjoy the green rice fields and a walk along the tourist street and path. There are cafes with local food and delicious fresh juices. . A place where I would definitely like to return....if a transfer to the city is provided.

Of course, the downside is getting to the hotel. The hotel does not provide a free transfer to Ubud, as many hotels in the area do. However, this diminishes the image of the hotel, and because of this we almost gave up on the hotel. From the hotel, you can walk to Ubud 2.2. km along the tourist trail. You can do it once to enjoy the views around, but it's not easy, especially in the heat. The prices of drivers and taxis here are increased and they ask for 150k rupees one way, which is not cheap. If you haggle, you can negotiate for 100k . The trip lasts about 20-40 minutes, depending on the traffic, because you have to drive around a bend to get over the gorge.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms are very clean. We didn’t encounter any bugs or anything negative. I must say, they’ve done an incredible job maintaining such cleanliness in the middle of a dense forest. The room’s furnishings are lovely and sufficient. The bathroom design is fantastic. You might want to watch the sunrise and sunset from the balcony—an incredible view. You can also fill the bathtub to enhance your relaxation. The food is excellent. You must try their signature breakfast; it’s perfectly balanced and healthy. The dinners and appetizers are just as delightful. In the evenings, there are music performances, all of which were wonderful. They play calm, romantic songs that perfectly match the spirit of the forest. The hotel staff is outstanding. No one can match their attentiveness and service quality. I’ve stayed at other hotels in Bali, but Kastara’s team is truly exceptional. This time, the hotel staff was incredibly helpful in organizing a very special event for me. I want to thank each of them individually—you were amazing. A special thanks to Ms. Mitra, who took such great care of us during the event evening. You are so kind and wonderful. If you’re looking for a romantic, peaceful, and perfect vacation, don’t choose anywhere else in Ubud. This place is simply fantastic! We will definitely visit again!

Everything was exceptionally perfect!

We were there for honeymoon for 4 days in a bath tub room. The staff was exceptional as anywhere in Bali. Great welcoming and they make sure you are enjoying your stay. The room was amazing with forest view and high ceilings. All amenities were there for you. Enjoying around poolside was great. You can order from bar and enjoy pool with amazing forest view. Regarding Grab regulations, you can be dropped off to hotel but cannot be picked up directly. You must walk 10 mins to pickup point or use hotel's shuttle there. Overall, it was a great experience to stay here.

-Spa is too expensive compared to market rates. It is the overall situaton regarding Bali hotels. -I tried Shisha nearside pool several times but it was one of the worst taste shisha I experienced all around the world. No flavour at all. -Regarding people who want a private pool room: Balconies above will see your pool when they look outside.

We had an incredible 10 night stay at Kastara for the first part of our honeymoon. The rooms are beautiful (we had the pool suite which we absolutely loved). The facilities are fantastic, the infinity pool has absolutely stunning views and I made use of spa in which I had one of the best facials I've ever had! The best thing about Kastara is the staff, they looked after us so well and always had a smile for us - everyone from reception, the restaurant, cleaning staff and maintenance staff. The property is around 30 minute walk or 20 minute taxi from ubud which was perfect for us.

We returned to Kastara for the second time after 1 year. Cozy spacious rooms with new furniture and incredible views. Very good wi-fi (we work with my boyfriend and we haven't had any problems). There is a GYM with everything you need. Spa!!! Specialist with magic hands! After the flight, I was recovered in literally 1 hour. Very tasty restaurant and bar. The staff is incredible! Very good location. Close to the artist's walk and not far to Ubud.

Located in serene part of Ubud, away from the busy crowds of central Ubud. Breath taking views overlooking the jungle and rice fields nearby. Infinity pool was amazing and the bar made the best Pina colada’s I’ve ever had. Just a few mins walk to Karsa Spa which is best spa in Ubud. Thank you Kadek from happy tours and experiences for the recommendation and for making our trip a memorable one. I would recommend Kadek if you need a driver in Bali. He was more then a driver and took care of all our tickets for tours and took the most amazing photos of us all. https://www.instagram.com/happytoursandexperiences?igsh=bXozNWgyZ2owbDVv

The view was one of the amazing scenery we have ever seen. The infinity pool was overwhelming, and in generel, the hotel, including the room, looks even prettier in real life than in the photos. The food was good and had a big variety The staff were so friendly and helpful, with an amazing personal attitude. The hotel is located far from the city center of Ubud, which added to the relaxing experience. However, you can rent a scooter or order a taxi from the front desk with no problem. Another big plus to the location is that it is in a walking distance from the Campuhan Ridge road, which is a beautiful, authentic, and easy walk to the city.

We had a great experience but we didn't like the fact that big groups can enter the hotel and the infinity pool as part of their trip, and take photos, use the pool and the side pool beds and disturbe the relaxing environment. This is the only thing holding this hotel back from being a real luxurious hotel.

I recently spent 10 days at Kastara Resort and had a wonderful experience. Our room offered a stunning view of the jungle. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink while the hotel staff handled our check-in. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, we were pleasantly surprised by a room decoration arranged by the team. A highlight of our accommodation was the spacious bathtub on the balcony, with such a beautiful view. Perfect for relaxing after a long day. The hotel staff consistently demonstrated professionalism, always ready to assist with any request. They were polite and friendly. The hotel manager was frequently present and readily available to help with any matter. For guests considering breakfast at the hotel, I recommend booking it together with your room. The breakfast menu offers some options, including fresh smoothies and juices.

My solo retreat to Kastara Resort & Spa in Ubud was nothing short of magical. Seeking tranquility and a chance to reconnect with myself, I found a haven that surpassed all expectations. Nestled amidst Ubud's breathtaking landscapes, the resort offered a sense of serene isolation, yet with the comforting presence of exceptional staff. The views were a constant source of peace, a visual symphony of lush greenery and tranquil valleys. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff were truly remarkable. Being a solo traveler, I particularly appreciated their genuine kindness and helpfulness. Every member, from reception to housekeeping, made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. No request was too much trouble, and their smiles were a constant source of joy. A highlight of my stay was undoubtedly my spa experience with Lina. Her skilled hands provided a massage and skin treatment that were pure bliss. I felt completely rejuvenated, and her expertise was truly exceptional. It was a moment of profound relaxation and self-care. I also had the pleasure of indulging in the Kawa Habachi culinary experience, and Chef Indra's creations were a feast for the senses. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing his talent and passion. Chef Indra's artistry and the staff's attentiveness made it a truly memorable occasion. My villa was a sanctuary of comfort and elegance, a perfect space for solitude and reflection. The private pool offered a personal oasis, and the stunning views provided a constant connection to nature. The attention to detail, from the luxurious amenities to the impeccable cleanliness, was truly impressive. Kastara Resort & Spa became my personal sanctuary, a place where I could truly unwind and recharge. It was an experience that nourished my soul, and I left feeling deeply grateful for the tranquility and exceptional service. To Lina, Chef Indra, Suzanne, and the entire staff, thank you for creating such a perfect solo retreat.
