Our 7 night stay at The Devonshire was perfectly lovely. From the moment we were cheerfully greeted upon arrival by Kirsty, one of the owners, to the sad day we had to say goodbye, we could not have asked for anything more. Our room was pleasant, clean, quiet and spacious with all the comforts of home and the food was amazing! You won’t find a nicer group of people than at The Devonshire. Every single person at the inn and dining house was so kind and helpful and made my friend and me feel so welcome; they couldn’t have been any nicer or accommodating. The fact that this charming, historic inn is in the heart of picturesque Grassington is simply the cherry on the cake!

Brilliant location and a lovely place to stay. Staff were all friendly and helpful - just really nice people! The place itself was like your traditional country pub and there was always a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Lots of people using the pub and the restaurant so that speaks for itself. We had breakfast included and there was a large choice including full English, pancakes and eggs Benedict - so had a different one each day 😊. The location was in the market square with lots of small cafes and shops, with beautiful scenery all around. We will definitely be back to stay here.
Nothing - it’s exactly as we expected.

I grew up in the area and it’s always been a place close to my heart. All the character you’d expect with modern comforts. In many ways, nothing has changed but also it has changed a lot but this is absolutely not a negative at all. It felt like coming home. Every member of staff was friendly, knowledgeable, smiling and on hand at all times. Well done! The food we had was delicious and well portioned, excellent service from the young waiter, very much appreciated. The cleanliness was exceptional, another aspect that certainly didn’t go unnoticed. The rooms are surprisingly spacious and airy. Well stocked with tea/coffee/water. Comfortable beds and extra bedding if needed. In conclusion, i wholeheartedly recommend a stay here. You won’t be disappointed (unless they are fully booked of course) and we will definitely be returning.
There’s absolutely nothing to moan about in any way.

We got a great welcome on arrival. The room was really nice - more than ample for the two of us and overlooking the back so lovely and quiet. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was particularly good. Lots of choice - between us we had the full English breakfast, the veggie breakfast and the pancake and fruit over the two days and all were faultless. Parking can be a little challenging but we got lucky and had a space outside the first night and on a nearby road the other night. The location is fantastic and there are plenty of good places to eat out (including the pub downstairs).
Nothing not to like but just be aware that this is an old building and as a result the floors are creaky and you can hear people moving around. However, overnight, it was lovely and quiet and we slept very well.

We loved the location , the food was excellent, the staff were super friendly and was a very dog friendly place to stay . The dogs dinners were huge , so our Yorkies shared and there was still some left over . One unfortunately went to waste . The singer on Friday was so bad he was good , a very funny guy . A Busy pub with a great atmosphere .
There was a very strong smell of bleach that hit you soon as you walked in , Mrs halls room desperately needs painting although it was cosy and clean . The view was the roof . Would have liked a bit of a view, ( as booked 6 months previous) so if I went again would be nice to have a view of the square, maybe we were put there as we had dogs, not sure .

The Devonshire is located in the beautiful heart of Grassington. They are attentive to a number of small details that a traveler might need to have in their room, including a portable fan, tea/snacks that are replenished daily, and a shoe tray to leave your dirty hiking boots. Every staff person I interacted with was courteous, friendly, and willing to help. I was able to arrange an early morning check-out without any issues. The food was EXCELLENT. They have an extensive offering of traditional and uniquely distinct food options—there's something for everyone! I thoroughly enjoyed the full English breakfast option included with my lodging, which was delicious and sufficient to fuel my day till supper time. They also served great-tasting coffee, which is not always the case at hotels. I'm also an "All Creatures Great & Small" fan, and I appreciate all the little tips of the cap to the series throughout the place (the Devonshire's exterior is featured on the show). The pub is cozy and dog-friendly, and the beer I tried was fantastic. The pub closes at a decent hour, and even when the pub was filled with people, I did not hear any sounds from the pub while in my room, although there was no live music being played during my stay).
I absolutely loved staying at The Devonshire and would stay there again in a heartbeat. My sole piece of CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK is that there was some kind of emergency security system right above the door of my room. The system had a bright green light that remained lit at all times, making it difficult for a lodger to darken the room entirely when all the room lights are off. As it is likely a necessary security/safety device, there may not be much that can be done to address the light. If nothing else, lodgers who prefer sleeping without a green night light should consider packing a sleeping mask.

I very much loved my stay at the Devonshire and already look forward to returning again in the future. The location is wonderful, situated in the main village square in beautiful Grassington. It is within walking distance to the National Park Tourism Centre with beautiful walks down to Linton Falls and the amazing Dales Way path. The property itself is beautiful inside and out. You can really see how much care is taken in ensuring it is a wonderful experience for guests. Furthermore, the nods to All Creatures Great and Small throughout the property is fantastic. The food is excellent. I had an evening meal and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast - both were delicious home cooked meals made with local and quality ingredients. To top it all off, the staff are absolutely brilliant. You get such a friendly and warm welcome from the moment you walk through the doors, they take the time to know your name and talk to you, it’s the little things that make a big difference and this team have truly got it right. Thank you so much to all of the wonderful staff.

Great location, friendly staff, nice modern bathroom and comfortable bed. Lovely choice of cooked breakfast items. We had booked dinner on the first night ….good choice, nicely cooked and very generous helpings.
Would have liked some fruit or pots of yoghurt on the cold breakfast bar as I don’t eat cereal, though the cooked part of breakfast was lovely There was a low level whining noise at times in the room at night…..not sure if it was from outside, or the interior plumbing ventilation

From the minute I arrived the staff were attentive and so welcoming. I settled in, had a lovely meal and some drinks. In the morning breakfast was served efficiently and with friendly staff. It is the second time I have stayed at the Devenshire and will definitely return again.
The only thing I noticed was a noise coming from the location below my room (No 7) It did not have an affect on the enjoyment of my stay, but it was noticeable none the less.

The room was comfortable, cosy and clean. The pub itself was friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious (we had breakfast and dinner). The location was perfect, it is a lovely compact, traditional Yorkshire town, with cute little shops and friendly pubs.
There was no parking available nearby, but we parked at the visitors centre which was a 5 minute walk away and not expensive. But if you require parking next to the pub, there was none available.
