Loved the quiet location with great walks nearby,good food especially the breakfast!

The Sunday roast was reheated when we landed on the first night,shame really as I'm sure it would of been lovely,the pigs in blankets were scorched! We should of sent it back but ate them regardless, bit disappointing as we had to pay extra for them

We booked a luxury room, and one of the sinks was badly cracked, the taps on the bath was broken, the over flow on the bath just flowed all over the floor, so when mopping it up the floor was very dirty, there was no staff on duty to collect the keys on leaving or to talk to about our concerns

A beautiful place. Yes, a little dated but it's well suited to the style of the building. The staff are lovely. The room was clean. The beds were overly soft and maybe a little lumpy. I prefer a firm mattress. The whole place would benefit immensely from just a little basic maintenance. Our window needed attention. The curtain pole was loose. The chain was missing from the plug in the bath. The wardrobe door needed repairing. It's all basic little bits but they add up. The food was exceptional. Large portions and very tasty. The drinks were okay, maybe a little pricey. The breakfast was pretty standard but more than adequate (served in a lovely panelled dining room) We had 2 dogs with us who were welcomed for a reasonable fee of £10 each (cheaper than a kennel) They also have a range of dog meals and treats to buy at the bar. Overall I would class the Tennant Arms as very good value. It just needs that little bit of TLC to really raise the standard

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in August, as a base for exploring the dales. As some have said, the building could do with a bit of refreshing here and there, but I believe it had become very run down under the previous owners. The improvements made in the last three years by the new owners are clear to see, and of a high standard. I am sure that in time they will restore this beautiful old building to it's former glory! Our room was recently decorated beautifully, although the bathroom needed some work. The Tennants Arms has several huge plusses. Location. The stunning location has amazing views, and is a perfect base for exploring the dales. Food. The food in the restaurant was exceptional! Staff. The most important plus is the staff. Paul and Tom were friendly, helpful and clearly very experienced in the hospitality industry. As someone who has spent at least 100 nights a year, for the last 40 years in hotels (for work) all over the UK and Europe, I know that the staff make or break a hotel. The level of service provided at The Tennants Arms is exceptional. I would much rather spend time there than in most £200 a night hotels I have stayed in! We didn't want to leave, and look forward to returning in the future.

Location was absolutley fab, the room size and bathroom fantastic. Loved the view from the bedroom and also being able to soak in the bath and look over the scenery which was fabulous. Meals were fantastic and certainly plenty to eat excellent value. I had a problem with the comfort of the bed, however when this was mentioned the Manager and staff immediatley changed the mattress, which then gave me the comfort and the sleep I needed, in fact the sleep I had after the change was the best I have had in years, staff handled this amazingly well, thank you.

Breakfast needed more choice, and cold options. Would be nice to see some porridge, more choice of cereal and some yoghurt and muffins, nothing too much but a little more choice.

We absolutely loved the location, so quiet and stunning views from our room.Staff went out off there way to make us welcome, food also very good , never have we had a steak cooked so good , and the homemade peppercorn sauce was amazing, special mention to Jay on bar duties with the help of Paul . Breakfast was also very good and set you up for the day , they also welcomed our small dog Thistle , a big thank you to all at the Tennant Arms Hotel.

Okay the rooms do need some work doing on them , and some plumbing work for loose taps and such , but the situation and surrounding views in our opinion more than made up for it will be back soon

Read reviews before we went and was very apprehensive about our stay. The hotel is 400 years old yes it was tired in places but the welcome and the food was amazing. For once the evening meals arrived red hot, well cooked and huge. The breakfast like wise was enormous and all hot. The room was a little tired but okay for our stay. We had a huge bath, instant hot water and toiletries. We will visit again and be more cautious about reviews stopping us from forming our own opinions

If I have to be really picky our room should have looked onto the crag, but there was a huge tree outside our window. Also if you are a poor sleeper like me and need complete darkness, there was an outside light that made the bedroom no more than twilight.

The location was absolutely amazing with beautiful views over the Dales. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Tom, the Manager, and Paul, who served us breakfast, were absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The evening meal we had was great and breakfast the following morning set us up for the day ahead. We will definitely be back again. Just remember, this is a very old building...creaky and quirky....and you are in the Yorkshire Dales so your phone signal and WiFi dips in and out. All in all it's 5 🌟 from my Fiancée and I.

Lovely large room with comfy bed and view of the crag. The roll top bath with shower was great and had an over bath holder for 2 wine glasses. A bath mat was also provided. Plenty of clean towels and toiletries. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing!

Where were all the staff? The lady that checked us in was doing everything from serving behind the bar, taking and serving food orders, cleaning up, checking in and out and cleaning the rooms - superwoman!

On arrival the staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming. The room was very spacious and clean. We booked a meal at the pub which was very nice, overlooking a stunning view. Breakfast was excellent and again, the member of staff covering breakfast (who was also there when we arrived the day before) was very efficient, polite and friendly.

Not sure how many parking spaces there are but we were lucky to get one on arrival. We did have to fiddle a bit with the cable for the TV to work as it wouldn't stay in the connection.
