This place is beautiful and well-kept. It's private & quiet. Access to hot coffee and tea 24-7. The location is perfect for walking to the riverfront and historic downtown. I felt safe in the neighborhood as a solo female traveler.
There were two inconveniences. The first is there is no ice or refrigerator available. The other was the parking. The lot is alongside the house and very tight. You will have to reverse out and it is a tight squeeze even in a small car.

Location was great, we were able to walk to St. George street and enjoy all it has to offer as well as walking to dinner at The Fish Camp. We did not stay long enough to take advantage of so much of the area but if we had we were very well located to do so. The happy hour had decent wine and some pastries which was nice. We had to leave before breakfast so we can’t comment on that.
The person who checked us in and got us to our room was very unfriendly and acted like we were an annoyance, as if she had better things to do. She was very rushed with providing us with information. We did not feel welcomed at all.

The Penny Farthing Bed & Breakfast is a charming retreat that perfectly blends historic elegance with modern comfort. The house is beautifully preserved, with intricate woodwork and period furnishings that create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Located just a short walk from downtown, it's ideally situated for exploring local shops and attractions. The hosts are exceptionally friendly, and their homemade breakfasts are a highlight—delicious, well-prepared, and served with a personal touch that makes you feel right at home. This is the perfect spot for anyone seeking a cozy, memorable stay in a picturesque setting.

The location of the inn is the most convenient! It's super close to everything, yet in a quiet street. The process of checking in and out was smooth. The staff is friendly; I met 3 of them over the 3-day stay, and they all went above and beyond to accommodate any need of mine. I booked the Victorian bedchamber; it was cozy and roomy, with a huge balcony facing the street. I loved the sherry wine that was in the room. Breakfast was delicious on the first day, but it was so and so on the second day. This is not an open buffet type of breakfast; the staff prepares the food for you as you get to the dining room. There is also a happy hour where they provide wine and snacks (included in the price)! There is an on-premises free parking.
As an old house with a wooden floor, expect to hear every movement. Since it's a (house) inn, expect to hear noise from rooms around. The inn was clean overall, but some little things weren't; for example, the outside seating for breakfast was dusty, as were the table and the chairs. Also, that dining area needed some pesticide as mosquitos were excessively all over, day and night. There isn't a conditioner, only sample-size shampoo and sample-size soap; it wasn't a big deal for me, but if it is for you, ensure you bring yours.

We always look for more ‘unique’ places to stay. Out of the ordinary, not ‘run-of-the-mill’ places. The Penny Farthing was charming, quaint, good breakfasts (accommodated my GF needs). Enjoyed conversing with guests. We had the top floor, rooftop room with our own ‘widow’s walk’ private deck and little gazebo. So nice! A bit of a haul with our luggage, etc. but, once settled in for 4 nights, worth it. Comfortable bed and ‘living area’. The location was excellent, quiet, off the beaten tourist track, yet close enough to walk to everything.
We did have some trouble with the TV up there. Was told there was no cable service for the ‘attic room’. It was Oscar night and we wound up having to watch on our IPad. The tiny sink area was minimal but, ‘serviceable’. A full-height, garment/clothes hanging bar would be better than what was provided.

Location was great … Breakfast was good … April was very nice … The owner could be a little more personable but I understand inheriting a business at a young age must be stressful but take some deep breaths instead of coming across as uptight.
Parking is lousy as you have to back out and there isn’t much room between the vehicles and branches (small trees near the home) which scratched my truck maneuvering through … I would recommend remove the trees and put in a flower bed.

Very homey feeling with tasty breakfast and snacks at happy hour. We stayed in the attic room, and it was very comfortable for my husband, my daughter, and myself. The best part of the trip was sitting on the patio by our room and just enjoying snacks every night before bed. We also were able to make friends with other guests who were staying at the same time we were there.
The main bed was very tall and kind of hard to get into, especially if short. Would suggest putting a shower stool in.

The breakfast was lovely - nice variety and very filling. The property was close enough to town for us to walk everywhere, but tucked nicely away on a quiet street. Our bedroom was spacious and very nicely furnished. The outdoor porch was such a nice bonus and the indoor spaces (i.e. breakfast room and living areas) were so full of character. The happy hour was a nice surprise and we enjoyed a glass of wine each evening before heading out to walk to dinner.

I go to St Augustine a couple times a year and this was my first time staying at this B & B and won’t be my last! From the moment we walked through the door Ellie made us feel totally at home. Our room was spotlessly clean as was the whole house. Location is outstanding and so was the eggs Benedict breakfast. We also enjoyed the included happy hour. Thank you for a memorable and wonderful stay!

I loved the architecture outside and inside. Absolutely beautiful and loved how historic it looks. The price was very good for such a good location too. The spa tub was nice and big! I loved the bench swing on the balcony as well. The bed was comfortable.
The AC could not be adjusted and it was quite warm in the room, especially the bathroom. The bathroom felt like there was no ac period. Good thing there was a ceiling fan.
