The location , the view from the room and cleanliness. The check in & check out was super quick. The bathroom light was not working, as we complained the owner ensured it was repaired the next day.

Tolietries should have been provided. Basic stuff like salt pepper , oil etc needs to be kept for guests to use when they opt for an apartment with a kitchen. The apartment didn't have anything except utensils, kettel, microwave fridge. The bathroom was big but the mirror was placed on a dead wall, you need to have a mirror atleast above the wash basin its common sense. How would you expect someone to shave etc.

Loved absolutely everything about our stay at oom piets accommodation. From the location to thr friendly efficient service. Chantel and Francois are absolutely amazing and went beyond their call of duty. We will most definitely recommend this place and return there soon

The apartment was very good value, although basic had everything that was needed. Needed to keep a window open as condensation was a problem but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, walkable distance from the cliff path. Great cafes nearby especially Gansbaai Bakery. Great service food ,really quirky.Chantal and Francois were really helpful and offered loads of advice about local area.

I had my own things , but everything that I need it was in their kitchen, i love the bed warmer they have 🔥🤗 the bible that was next to my 🛏️ ❤️ friendly and loving people ....im definitely visiting with my whole family next time....ooh the incredible view of the 🌊 👌❤️🙌

Everything was so beautiful i love that place so much although the tv would have been nice in the bedroom 🛏️🤗im so lazy and that 🛏️ was so comfortable you'll never want to get out of it 😂it was "Ayoba"👌

Great central location with a nice view of the ocean. The parking was safe and secure and everything in the apartment was very clean. We had a very comfortable one night stay. Francois was also a very friendly host. And of course great value for money!!

We had the upstairs apartment with a massive balcony/terrace and view of the sea. It was airy, clean and light. The facilities were good, with a cooker and grill, large fridge freezer and all the kitchen equipment you need. It had a welcoming friendly feeling.

We had a great view on the old harbour, and the Lucky Star Pilchard factory. We could see the boats moving in and out of the harbour, could walk (about 100m) to the harbour and rocky shore, get fresh fish from the shop within 5 minutes from Oom Piet, and the groceries stores were only a few streets away. There are lovely coffee shops with excellent cakes a stone throw from the place, with friendly waiters and good menus. The Marine Growers workshop/factory is located at the "new harbour", a short walk from Oom Piet. The alien looking nets in the harbour (where abalone? are grown) gave us the chance to make up stories about it, and we saw lots of little fish and a lone baby shark in the water, viewing from the harbour wall. The place felt safe and we did not need to worry about locking doors, Trelidoors or activating alarms, so this was wonderful! The car was parked inside, and the manager was on the premises to answer questions about the area. The African Penquin and Seabird Sanctuary (APSS) is located at close driving distance (Van Dyks Bay is 3,4kms from Gansbaai), where they feed the Baby Blues at 3pm. Entrance was FREE! At the APSS they had a display of rock formations and information boards to teach us about billions of years' geology of the area. Fascinating! De Kelders is located a few kilometers away (2,4 km to be precise), and we visited the impressive caves at the bottom of the cliffs. A (42km) day trip to Hermanus is a wonderful extra - especially the Sculpture on the Cliffs trail where you can walk along the shore, surrounded by Fynbos and lovely views, plus stunning sculptures along the way. Francois and Chantal were both very helpful and we even got an extra remote to allow kids and parents. early birds and late sleepers to move about separately.

If you do not like the smell of fish, you might need to keep the windows closed. WE LOVED IT!

Our time at Oom Piet was very relaxing and quiet just what we wanted. Place was very neat and clean. Loved the view from the Balcony 😊👌Shops is in very close proximity which is great after a long drive.

Warm welcome when I got there. Gave me quick tour of my room. Advised me of all the restaurants and activities. Very helpful staff. Room was clean and everything in place.

Warm water and lights were supplied while the area experienced a 3 day power outage which we appreciated. The check in was quick, staff was friendly.

There was a grill or something that sounded like a griller knocking against the outside wall of our unit that caused a lot a disruptions while trying to sleep through the night.
