Our stay at Akwa was nothing short of incredible. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and offered an amazing view of the ocean—on some days, we could even watch surfers riding the waves, which was truly special. The bed was super comfortable, and the made-to-order breakfasts each morning were fresh and delicious. A special shoutout to our host, Alexia, who went above and beyond to make our stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. From the warm welcome to her thoughtful recommendations on places to eat and things to do, she made everything easy. She even arranged for an ATV to be delivered right to the villa, booked massage sessions for us, and connected us with a great surf instructor. We genuinely felt so well taken care of. Thank you, Alexia, for making our stay so memorable!

This hotel is really a gem in Santa Teresa. We stayed there for an additional night and it was the best decision we made if this wouldn’t have been our last stop on this trip we might as well have never left. We stayed in the Bardot Lodge which has a private pool with a spacious terrace and a small outdoorkitchen. The view is just breathtaking, imagine waking up with the view of the ocean right in front of your bed. We had a huge shower, seperate toilet and everything we could or couldn’t imagine beforehand. Didn’t try the breaktfast unfortunately as we bought fruits and granola at the supermarket to spend as much time as possible in our private paradise. Yes the street going up the hill is steep but you can’t have that view and be so near to the ocean at the same time if its not a steep climb. With the car if takes one minute to go up and we also walked it which is also fine. (Just one straight climb no need for a 4WD (we had one but didn’t use the option to go up there) Also Alexia is really a gem welcoming you and you feel home immediately. We‘ll definitely come back.

One of the best properties I’ve ever stayed at, it contributed to us having the most magical trip. The decoration, the views, friendly responsive staff that helped us book every time we needed something and gave tips and answered all our questions instantly. The villa is so well equipped, you don’t want to go out to eat when you have that kitchen. The whole place was like waking up inside of the cover of an interior magazine. The outdoor shower and pool with views to the ocean, the way the doors opened all the way into the most stunning views. It felt so spacious, so calm and secluded yet you were close to everything, perfectly located according to me. I just can’t say enough good things about this place. Everything was so easy and enjoyable. I wanted to cry when we had to leave.I will definitely stay again next time I’m in Santa Teresa.

Amazing Ocean View, private pool, outdoor kitchen, good standard The hostes Alexia was great, helped us book all activites and ATV and was very helpful during the entire stay of 2 weeks with making our stay as good as possible We also warmly recommend the surf lessons with Bernal, the best! Hi is very encouraging and know what is needed to help you evolve to the next level, also always chill, do not stress, very service minded. We did also go with Bernal on boat tour, great fishing, so much fun, beautiful dolphins

Beautiful place, great and spacious room with a beautiful view to the ocean and the jungle. The breakfast was great, staff very kind and helpful. Location is great, near to everything but also far from the crowd, which is very relaxing. We stayed in 3 more hotels in St Teresa during our stay due the lack of availability at Akwa and this one was far the best! Really Recommend!! great value for money. Alexia the owner is extremely nice and helped us all the time we had any request.

The access is tricky, you must have a 4x4 car to make it to the top and go down also, but we knew it in advance and it wasnt a problem

The property is located on a hill, so it has the most amazing views of the ocean. The sunsets are priceless, also the property is surrounded by pure nature. When we arrived Gerardo (Host) received us at the private parking lot which he offered to help us with our bags/luggage. While he gave us a tour of the property he offered us a glass of water (He was very kind). We stayed in the Bardot (garden view room) which has a private terrance to the garden. The terrance contains two cozy lounge full body beach cushions and a floor table. Perfect little get away to connect with nature and enjoy the sound of the waves and view the epic sunsets. Inside the room, it was very cozy. In fact, from different locations in the room we were able to admire the ocean views. The room is equipped with an excellent AC. Also, we slept so good because inside the room it’s only peace and quiet. Outside, just a few steps away from the Bardot there is a shared pool, also there are tables, chairs and cozy beach lounge cushions. At this same location we enjoyed the most delicious tico breakfast. There are 4 breakfast selections, but we loved the tico breakfast and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Also, during our first breakfast time Alexia (Host) welcomed us and asked how we were doing and if there is anything she can help with to make our stay wonderful to contact her (She was very kind).

We booked the Nicholson Villa for our family of five and absolutely loved our stay. We had our own private plunge pool, which was a great way to cool down. Breakfast was included in our stay, and it was incredible — fresh fruit, fresh fruit smoothies, yogurt, eggs, bacon, toast, tomatoes, avocados, arroz con frijoles, coffee, etc. Eduardo and Alexia (father and daughter team, who manage the property)are very accessible, friendly, and helpful. We really loved the location. It’s a little outside of downtown Santa Teresa, but walkable to town. There is a beautiful beach across the street from the resort. It was a vacation we will remember forever. We didn’t want to leave and are actively planning our return.

The property is located at the top of a steep hill. This isn’t bad, per se, but rather something you should be prepared for. We had a car, but we also scaled the hill several times coming to/from the beach. It is a paved road from the resort to the road.

Really comfortable room with amazing views and very relaxing overall. Steep driveway up to it but worth it for the views! Beach a short 5 min walk away too and lovely restaurants which we walked to (15-30mins walk away).

Breakfast was a little disappointing, the first morning none of the staff spoke English and we spoke very limited Spanish so we didn’t know what to ask for and the staff couldn’t help. It is the same breakfast everyday and despite being delicious, after 10 days it gets very repetitive! Would be nice to have some things more as a buffet style as would have loved more fresh fruit!

We had a very nice apartment with an amazing sea view and very big balcony. We loved this place. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was also super tasty we really liked the Avocado Toast. The hotel staff was always super friendly and helped us with all questions we had. Thanks a lot.

Beautiful simple but nice, the room is very aesthetic and clean, very safe given the private security guard at the entrance of the gated community. Breakfast was really good!

The entrances I a very steep hill, not much they can do about it but worth considering it for small cars
