The villa we had was superb, great layout, comfy beds, nice bathroom and stunning views. The beach is literally 15 steps from the door with reef fish at knee depth - perfect for the kids. Lovely pool too and the staff were amazing, so kind and friendly. The property is kept immaculately - the sand is even raked every morning. Wigmore's is across the road for supplies, ice creams and takeaways and there's a nice cafe next door for breakfast and lunch. Vaima on the Beach restaurant is only a few hundred metres walk too - amazing food, cocktails and views. Cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

Nothing to improve.

Moana Sands was great for a Rarotongan Holiday where you leave your "resort'. The facilities were generous, even the milk in the big fridge was a big carton. The cafe next door and Wigmores across the road were excellent. Our daughter was in the roadside room and the comings and goings at Wigmores did not bother her. We didn't self cater but would be good for those that do. Snorkelling out the front from mid tide was excellent and when it was windy we just went around the island. Having the pool to swim and lounge around in was great too. We loved the downstairs unit with direct access to the sand.

We originally had booked Moana Sands Beachfront Studio villa for one night , on our return from Aitutaki as a place to stay before flying home to UK. Leilani ( manager) sent me a lovely email offering us an upgrade to a luxury studio room and a free late check out in their other Moana Sands Lagoon Resort , in Muri , just down the road . We were thrilled to have this opportunity , and it helped them with another booking for someone else that was staying longer at the beachfront villas studio. We were impressed with Moana Sands Lagoon Resort : every member of staff who passed us or spoke to us were so friendly and welcoming. Our room looked out on pool and seafront , with its little patio area with seating. Nice touch to have a free use of water sports equipment : so much choice of flippers snorkels , reef shoes to borrow ( and obviously wash out & put back after !). Our room had lovely modern coastal decor, huge shower , very comfy king bed and fridge with milk water and tea , coffee etc . Continental Breakfast was with cost of room but other nice menu options to order . Lagoon is stunning , great snorkelling and gorgeous beach. We ate at their restaurant on site and the food was just superb : fillet steak was so tender , the best steak we had in years. Vai ( waitress) was efficient and so helpful . Thank you to reception staff but extra special thank you to Leilani. Highly recommend this place.

Nothing . Fantastic stay

Our second stay here. Excellent location, and Pool and good beach Shops and bus stop handy,

Our room was adjacent to a property who had loud music through the day, and their noisy vehicle woke us early each day as their driveway is on the boundary. If the windows in the bedrooms of our unit were double glazed instead of lourves it would not have been a problem. Would have preferred if guests in the adjoining unit hadn't used their patio for a smoking area, as the wind blew their smoke into our patio and unit often, so we had to move and close the door. Suggest guests are asked not to smoke in this area, perhaps use the covered area at the road end of the units instead. Microwave too high up for safe use by shorter guests.

The breakfast supplied was wonderful - it would be great to be able to choose pre-arrival if wanting muesli , corn flakes etc rather than it be random. The meusli was out of this world ! The availability of the watercraft was so easy to access and I absolutely loved that the groundsman raked the sand every morning so you woke to a fresh start to your day and he was always smiling , optimistic and happy to say hello and chat. Also the foot bowls to rinse your feet before walking into your villa was a nice touch. The rooms were always cleaned to a great standard too.

The customer service of the front desk, needs to be more appeasing when there is an issue eg. "I understand where you're coming from " or " let me see how I can help with this and get back to you ".

No onsite restaurant or place to have breakfast (assuming we didn't want to self cater 100% of the time) The independent cafe next door was unappealing, especially with a horrible big fridge in the doorway. range of fin and masks, it looks like these have just been inherited by previous guests leaving them. We couldn't get any to fit. Its opposite a 24 supermarket which was handy however on a couple of nights between around 2am and 4pm it got really noisy, not sure why.

Breakfast was left in our fridge and was sufficient. Bananas, papaya, cereal, juice, bread for toast. The location was great, right on the beachfront, step out our door and we are on the sand, crystal clear water and snorkelling as good as anywhere on the island. Handy with Wigmores supermarket across the road and open 24/7. A couple of restaurants in walking distance but only 1 open.

It was a little noisy being so close to the main road and shop but it’s never really that busy - I just know there would be quieter spots. Having a washing machine would be good for longer stays.

We absolutely loved Moana Sands Beachfront Villas. We were greeted at the airport and taken to our villa. There was fresh fruit and cereal provided for breakfast. After the first morning, we had breakfast right next door at Circles Cafe. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and each bedroom had its own bathroom. We walked straight out of our room onto the golden sands and a perfect swimming / snorkelling beach. There were kayaks and snorkel gear provided for free. There is a 24 hour shop across the road and takeaways on the weekend. Everything we needed was on the doorstep. To top it off, the staff were wonderful. Extremely friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come back, and have already recommended Moana Sands to our friends!

Too much light coming in to rooms No fan or cooling system in bedroom by lounge so extremely hot unless all vents and doors open

Lovely quiet spot, apartment had everything we could need in it and good air conditioning. Cleaners came in every day and did a good job. Whole facility was neat and tidy. Big shop just across the road, plus a cafe next door. Best of all was the beach which was only steps away. I thought this was a good place to stay.

The drier in the laundry was broken but we could use the one at the Moana Hotel anyway so not a biggie.
