Owner communicated after booking . To advise us it’s a pub and weekends can be noisy . Atmosphere of the location was lively in the evening .. Ear plugs were provided . To be honest the party vibe did not bother us . We had a stunning well equipped room with a sea view . All staff were super friendly, welcoming and helpful . Nothing was too much trouble . excellent communication throughout Central location Clean and comfortable Very cosy and comfortable bed Breakfast was delicious Complimentary meal and drink much appreciated and very delicious
Sadly due to an issue with the boiler there was no hot water . This was communicated to us prior to our arrival. We were given the choice of a full Refund or free meal and drink as an apology . This is not worry us, we actually embraced the cold shower. This issue was out of their hands . We were fully informed and compared for the issue.

I found my stay here with my partner to be one of the best staff was very friendly and helpful as soon as we arrived the room was clean big ans had some nice touches too, the bed was big clean and comfortable, there is a mini fridge in the room to use and tv, we was in room 2 and it's was a very big room ans had some lovely views of the barbican harbour. The bathroom had a large walk in shower ans was powerful and hot. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best I've had, overall 10/10 wished I booked another night we will be back again for sure.
Nothing the nightclubs next door was a little noisy but we slept well but you are given earplugs which was a nice touch.

The Three Crowns is a very nice little place over a local first rate pub and overlooking a picturesque harbor. My room had a terrific view. There were a couple of good restaurants nearby as well as the Plymouth Gin Distillery. This is my second stay at this inn and the staff was very helpful with taking my luggage upstairs to my room as I am 77-years old. In short a pleasant stay.
There was one thing that was unfortunate. After asking the staff to call for a taxi at breakfast to go to the train station, one of the day staff then informed me that all the roads around the inn were closed due to a marathon. I had no other choice but to walk to the train station about two plus miles up hill pulling my suitcase and carrying my tote bag in the pouring rain. It would have been helpful if the inn management had informed me the night before or arranged for a taxi to wait for me at the point were the roads were opened which was less than half way to the train station.

Great location. Cool venue with a lovely clean and comfortable room. I had a view of the harbour. Such a great spot to explore the city. Letting yourself in and out was easy. Love the fridge in the room. I would stay again.
Check in, but one member of staff noticed and apologised and it wasn't too long a wait. They do warn of this, I'd get their early as possible to check in to avoid the crowds. I did wait at the side of the bar and said I'm here to check in and I was ignored by everyone but one member of staff. It was a minor issue, but a note to staff, if you see someone following the instructions to wait at the side of the bar and say you're here to check in and they have luggage and their check in printed out, then yeah, I'm a guest not a punter. All in all, great place. I'd stay again and recommend it.

The room was very clean, very comfy bed, well stocked tea, coffee, bathroom supplies. Breakfast excellent and all the staff I met were very friendly.I was visiting my child at Uni and it's only 15 mins walk away and very well placed for all the sightseeing, shops bars and restaurants. I stayed on the top floor and these rooms have a great view. I was travelling alone and felt safe there and would definitely stay again.
I could hear the people in the rooms next door, not sure if thin walls or they were very loud. Take earplugs (Softies from Boots very good!) There's live music from other bars outside, quite enjoyed it when it was a good singer though 😄

the location was great, it was very busy but being the weekend and near st Patrick’s day that was no fault of the property! The lady that checked us in was lovely, didn’t catch her name but she was young with long brunette straight hair, the room was clean and perfect for one night.
with breakfast, the coffee machine wasn’t working which was a shame, I also ordered avocado and egg on toast and requested for some bacon with it, the lady said this was all okay and wrote it down, then when she brought out the food she didn’t bring any bacon, I thought she may go back and get some but she disappeared and we didn’t see her again until she cleared the table so I couldn’t mention it. Also in the room the booklet says about using a tasimo coffee machine but there is only a kettle.

I am a returning business visitor. I would prefer this property to an homogenous hotel and consider it to be excellent value for money. The location is excellent being in the heart of the Barbican and well placed for the local pubs and restaurants. There is plenty of choice close by! It is also within walking distance of the railway station and most business premises.
Whilst I am mobile there are plenty of stairs and a low head height at a couple of points at the top of the stairs. Whilst this is part of the charm of an old building it would be an issue for those with restricted mobility.

The room was great, really clean and there were plenty of towels and toiletries available. I was also very grateful there was a hair dryer in the room as well as I had forgotten mine! The breakfast was amazing, cooked to perfection and really good portion sizes. There was also a good selection of juices available. The coffee machine wasn't working unfortunately but we were asked whether we wanted a coffee from the pub downstairs which was a great offer but we were happy with the juices! The location was perfect for us, right on the Barbican and only a 5 minute walk to the Aquarium, 10 minutes to Plymouth Hoe, and 15 minutes to the Plymouth Pavilions where we went for a show. The B&B is located next to some bars and nightclubs but there were earplugs available for us in the room but we didn't need them as there was a TV in the room which helped us fall asleep. The staff were lovely and we were asked several times whether we needed anything extra (we didn't!) and if there were any issues (there weren't!). We would definitely stay here again, thank you!
Nothing, we were really happy with our stay! The stairs to the rooms may be difficult for people with limited mobility as they're quite steep and the ceilings are low, but this wasn't an issue for us.

We have stayed many times in the last 5 years … location excellent. We had to cancel in December due to my husband having to have an emergency procedure on his foot 2 days prior to our arrival date & after numerous txts & phone calls & got told by a member of staff to cancel our booking & we will not be charged , the manager did NOT reply & we got charged the full amount even though we just wanted to change our dates which we did & still stayed again as we love it there.
The constant sound from the night club next door room 6 …if you don’t mind BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM all night long till 3 in the morning then don’t stay here. Done my head in.

The size of the room and bathroom were fantastic ,decor is nicely done! Location is perfect .Very comfortable bed and all extras have been really thought out ! Shampoos etc .very quiet despite the lovely location ! Breakfast was lovely and lots of choice .
Lack of attentive staff .Having to ask a couple of times for buffet breakfast items ,another couple has to ask immediately after us for different items .Standing at the bar whilst staff congregated in the back even though we had been noticed .Just seemed a lack of customer and hospitality training overall.
