October 2024

We came with our kids (8yo and 5 yo) end of October 2024. We loved the experience of being up by the trees. Fortunately we upgraded to the honeymoon room. Our room had a front view of the plain where we could see buffalo, giraffes, kudus, baboons and all kinds of wildlife. During dinner everyone is around a pit fire, this allows for conversation with other guests and sharing experiences in their travels. I wish this was more common!

The major set back for us were 1) the amount of mosquitos that were in our room. we totally understand the lodge is in the middle of the bush but we also noticed a lot of situations where this could be avoided. We noticed pools of stagnant water right by the entrance and the lack of netting around the room, there were wide gaps by the floor and swarms of mosquitos around the room. Living in a malaria area and we knowing how bad mosquitoes can get; It was very disappointing how the lodge was managing this. 2) seeing tires and scraps around the property when doing the junior ranger course. The tires and metal scraps should be cleaned up. 3) As nature enthusiasts we noticed a lot of mistakes in nature facts. Perhaps a refresher course is needed?

My husband and I spent a few days in one of the tree houses -what a fantastic design! Our room/ house was very well equipped (aircon, fridge, coffee/ tea, fresh towels every day) and had an indoor bathroom as well as an outdoor shower (!). The staff were absolutely lovely and extremely accommodating with our activity requests and dietary requirements. Food was simply amazing - fresh and tasty- and big portions were served everyday. The whole lodge is located in one of the nature reserves so after day one, we got used to seeing a passing ostrich, impalas, kudu or a monkey while having a breakfast. Amazing place.

Nothing.

We had a truly wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, the service at the reception was excellent — warm, welcoming, and very professional. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an exceptional experience surrounded by beautiful wildlife and nature. The entire staff was incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout our stay. Everything was excellent — thank you so much to the whole team!

The treehouse concept was well executed and really spacious and comfortable to stay in. I like the outdoor toilet and shower and views of the surrounding fauna and flaura. The staff were fantastic as well. Everyone from the guides (especially the 2 Dillons), kitchen and reception staff were very welcoming, attentive and helpful. The place had a cosy, homely, rustic feel that makes you feel you’re somewhere exotic and adventurous. There’s a nice bar, pool and dinners by the bon fire.

Make sure to budget for kids 2 years and above in your accommodation fees.

The treehouse is a lovely place to stay, up from the ground with nice views ( hyena, ostrich, monkeys) , good beds with mosquito nets. Best shower we had in Africa! Dinner around the Boma is good, but obviously a group thing. Kruger Safari booked via Pezulu was great with plenty of breakfast and water. Very friendly and helpful staff!

The 2bedroom, 5 person hut is comfortable but a little bit crowded with beds when travelling with some luggage as well.

We loved the tree house! It’s a very unique stay and the staff was so friendly and helpful. It’s also comfortable and they offer multiple activities, for a reasonable price. You do have to be up for a bit of an adventure though, the road there is a bit wobbly (but perfectly fine to do with a normal car) and one or the other animal will be around.

Nothing was bad. Only attention point is watch out on how to get there when it rains! The road gets quite bumpy and slippery then, so would recommend to not do that during the night.

Very good advice and recommendations from Charlotte. The Elephant experience was amazing and we enjoyed the bush walk. Lovely varied breakfast - great fruit salad - and delicious dinner choices on offer.

This has got nothing to do with Pezulu itself. However, something to consider perhaps - it is quite far from the main road (ca. 15 km dirt road) and about 40 km from Orpen Gate (Kruger).

This stay is a dream come true. The place itself is so beautiful with nice brown wood and all handmade. They thought of everything. Had a nice drink before and a lovely check in. The people were perfect and the food amazing. Have seen so many wildlife from the lodge and also on the daytour in Kruger. The guy from the daytour is very good at seeing the wildlife and driving safe. We had a very nice stay and definitely come back if we can someday.

The individual tree houses are amazing - saw zebra, buffalo, monkeys and giraffe from my bed

Outside shower- in my particular room only as I understand- was fine for a couple of days but if you are particular about that make sure you get a different room- for me it was part of the wonderful experience

Extremely friendly and helpfull staff, the remote location is very nice and the set-up of the tree houses is on another level.

The bathroom is too open and not very easy accessible (especialy when it’s raining at night). Also we missed blankets during the chilly dinner sessions and breakfast sessions.
