The building is full of character and well looked after. The room is spacious and comfortable and decorated with taste. It is in a very good area near the quay and high Street. The bar is well maintained and stocked. My husband can vouch on the quality of the Greene King IPA. There is also a every good choice of 0% and low alcohol beers for those of us who can't partake in acoholThere is a very good dinner menu, which unfortunately we didn't get to try but we did have breakfast which was cooked and presented beautifully. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and professional, willing to help with any query wether to do with the Antelope or things to do in Poole etc. We hope to return in the future.
It would have been good to be able to get something to eat after a long train journey. Unfortunately it was around 8.30/9pm when we arrived from Bolton and we could have done with a bit of something.everything else was fantastic.

Perfect location. We were a little late arriving and had to be on a boat by 7pm. There was no one on reception which was worrying as we were short of time, however, I spoke to a lovely lady in the restaurant who got, I think the manager and she was so helpful letting us leave our cases behind reception so we could catch our boat. So all ended well, very impressed.
We arrived back in time for last orders and my friend asked for a drink and was refused one. The bar person said we've had enough. I supposed we looked a little unusual as we were wearing Motown outfits with gigantic wigs and everyone at the bar was commenting on our outfits. However we thought it was a little harsh. I don't think the bar person realised we were staying in the hotel and probably thought we'd walked in off the street looking like we did! I'm 71 and my friend is 66 so we weren't a couple of trouble makers!! Anyway it hasn't put us off and hopefully we will stay with you again when we are attending events. Just need to let the bar person know you can't judge a book by it's cover

Lovely comfortsable room and staff could not be faulted in any way, they were excellent
Unfortunately breakfast was very disappointing. There was little choice with regards to fruits and Gluten free bread. Only seeded Gluten free bed was available which my partner could not eat. The gluten free sausages were not of a good quality or taste at all either and the cooked breakfasts varied in quality too but I think there may have been a different chef for each morning we had breakfast. I do like a ripe banana by the way but those that were on offer were totally black and should not have been put out for guest consumption.

Really friendly staff, very good breakfast, comfortable beds and proximity to Poole Quay. We brought the car because we have a kayak, but otherwise could have arrived by train. We spent three nights here and explored the harbour, went to Brownsea island and a boat tour and steam train trip to Swanage and Corfe Castle. This was my second visit and for that short, close to home break we will definitely book again. It's ideally situated for early morning boat trips.
Personal preference, but the pillows are quite bulky, perhaps a softer option too?

Location was perfect for wandering the Quay and testing out the various pubs. Beautiful old buildings. Also great location for investigating the local areas, went to Corfe Castle, Swanage and Sandbanks. Staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. Room was a great size, with good facilities, didn't actually use the tea and coffee, but was there if we had wanted any. We were in room 8, which was at the top of the stairs - so a good walk up after a heavy meal helped. Had a lovely bathroom with 2 sinks, and a big bath, which made a nice change -- but did miss having a shower.
The toilet seat .. didn't stay up - but didn't ruin our stay

An old inn well located for the Quay, restaurants and boat tours. A bit of a walk from the bus and railway stations. I liked the heating, which the guest could control, the large washbasin, the option of bath or shower and constant hot water. Storage space was sufficient and there was a desk and chair. Breakfast was OK. Out of season, it seemed good value for money.
A depression had formed in the mattress, though it didn't disturb my sleep. The flask of hot water for breakfast tea wasn't very hot at all. There was some space in the corner of the room which might have accommodated a comfy chair or perhaps a fridge.

The whole experience was superb, from arrival to departure. We came for our wedding anniversary and had a great time. Check in was quick and the staff were all very friendly. The room was perfect, tidy and clean and the bathroom was a great size with a bath and shower. We went out to eat as we wanted to try the local fish restaurant. But came back to have a drink in the pub and enjoy the atmosphere with the locals who were all very friendly. We were even given a warm welcome by the resident dogs. The bar staff were so warm and friendly especially the owners mother who has worked in the pub for many years. We had a fabulous breakfast the next morning, full english but plenty of other delights on offer, fruit, yogurt, pastries etc. All was great value for money and the breakfast room was in a great setting. We will back, thank you.
Nothing all great.

Were were well looked after and it was great to be able to take our dog into most of areas of the building and they even served us breakfast in the "snug" as the restaurant was not dog friendly. The location in Poole was brilliant, very close to the quay.
It was an old building with the issues you would expect with that ie the steep stairs to our room at the top of the building but that was not really an issue. They were decorating while we were there which again is good but did mean we had to be careful of the paint.

Delightful old building, lively atmosphere in the pub downstairs and quiet in the bedroom. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was generous. The room was well equipped, the bathroom large. My husband and I stayed in the hotel and seven other family members joined us for a birthday meal in the large, old stable dining area. The food was good, the staff were friendly, and the mail unhurried.
There is no lift and no intercom in the bedroom. Some people might find that a disadvantage but to be expected because of the age of the building.

My daughter booked our stay.....I wasn't sure about being in a pub but was pleasantly surprised. Room was decorated just up my street! Been looking online to find the wallpaper for my own home! We had a meal on the Monday night....the guy serving us was excellent, service was quick and food delicious! Will defintely recommend and book with you again!
There was nothing I didnt like.....one thing that would have been good....a biscuit or two on our tea/coffee tray. 😊
