Lovely receptionist beautiful setting and service room lovely and cream tea scones and croissants lovely
The fire alarm was set off accidentally by someone staying at the hotel which woke us both up. I understand this could happen but when people come to stay it needs to be pointed out to them where it is so as not to happen again as I believe it has happened before. I would have appreciated a complimentary apology email with maybe a slight reduction off next visit. It was ashame as I couldn't fault the hotel it was beautiful

Once again, we had an amazing stay! The hotel is absolutely lovely and very well equipped. The staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and always warm and welcoming. The breakfast offers a fantastic variety of options, and the afternoon scones are simply delicious! Our bedroom was extremely comfortable (thank you so much for the upgrade!) and the bathroom was equally well equipped. The area is absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed some extraordinary walks in the hills surrounding the village. The views over the landscape were simply stunning – a truly memorable experience. We will definitely be coming back!

located in the centre of grasmere with great parking and a superb front garden for drinks in the sun. Afternoon noon tea consisted of complementary scones, jam, and clotted cream. The room was spacious , looking on to the river, which was very pleasing and calming . The soothing sound of the water passed over the rocks just made for a great feeling as you drifted off to sleep at the end of the day. The breakfast was superb with an excellent choice of freshly cooked or continental food. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The general vibe was very relaxed and welcoming. Can't recommend highly enough.
A little bit of a bottle neck with the tea and coffee facility.

Access to tea and coffee all day with a scone was a good welcoming addition x Room was great x host was more than amazing and really helpful x breakfast area was great and sitting out area was superb x view from bedroom was excellent x cleanliness was brilliant well done x Ample free parking helped make a stress free stay x
Black pudding would have been a good addition x just ordinary brown toasted bread would have been an improvement on a separate plate. Didn’t care for the bread you used with the breakfast x Just one egg was sufficient x bacon could be of better quality x addition of Heinz beans would have been welcome x to be honest had better breakfast at several cheeper B & B’s in the village x Fist time I have left most of my breakfast x apologise for my honesty but the breafast is where improvement is needed x I would definitely stay here again but would expect an improvement in breakfast quality x

The staff are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. The afternoon tea on check-in is a bonus too, it was a lovely start to our break to be able to sit by the river and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea before we went out to explore Grasmere. The room was superbly comfortable and clean, slept like a log. Breakfast was great too, excellent vegetarian options were available too.
It's a push to say I didn't like this but it is something for people to be aware of before booking, the pool and restaurant for evening meals are at a sister hotel a 5 minute walk away.

The location in the heart of the Lakes District was excellent. The grounds were immaculate and a pleasure to sit back and enjoy the afternoon. The staff were pleasant and professional. Breakfast was great having your meal specially prepared for you. Parking was excellent with allocated parking bays.
The pictures of the room make it look much larger than it was. There was not enough room for people with large suitcases to open them. The bathroom was not very well designed with the toilet wedged between the wall and the hand basin making it difficult to use.

We had a great stay at Bridge House. The location was top tier: located in the sleepy village of Grasmere, we were close to the Wordsworths' Dove Cottage as well as their graves in the churchyard at St Oswald's, the gingerbread shop, lots of cafes, a few pubs and restaurants, and some fantastic trails. We came from London on the train (so, without a car) and it was easy to get around the Lakes by bus and on foot (for example, we did a 16 mile run to Keswick and then got the X5 bus to the Lakes Distillery for a tour and tasting). There is a bus stop very close to the hotel, outside the school. The staff were incredible, so welcoming and knowledgeable, they were more than happy to give trail advice, check in with how your visit was going, and offer assistance if needed. The breakfast each morning was really good and we often spent some time in the afternoons reading by the fire in the reception area, where coffees and teas were available all day. We also made use of the sister hotel, the Inn, in the evenings for the sauna which is just a few minutes walk away. Our room was great, nicely decorated and a good size, with the river running behind our building which was lovely. A few reviewers disliked having a shower over a bath, but this didn't seem like an issue and the shower itself had good pressure and was hot which are the important things in my mind!
The wifi, although available, was a little unreliable and kept disconnecting. Not a deal breaker but something that could be improved!

Staying at The Bridge House hotel was an absolute pleasure and breath of fresh air. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the facilities were immaculate and the location was great, only a mile walk to the start of the route for Rydal caves and Loughrigg Fell. Not to mention the freshly prepared/cooked breakfast that fuelled us for our trip up Scafell pike. The starting point from the east side of the mountain from Seathwaite Farm was only a 40 scenic minute drive from Bridge House which again is perfect if you’re looking to make the most of the walks in The Lakes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again.
The only struggle I had was trying to shower in the top floor bathroom as the ceilings are angled and I’m quiet tall but still managed🤣non the less, it’s not really a criticism as the bathroom and room itself were furnished excellently and you did have an excellent view from up there. So maybe if your over 6 ft the lower rooms may be better suited unless you don’t mind and prefer a better window view.

Everything was perfect, breakfast was sublime. We loved that you could see the chef cooking it too. The hotel is in lovely grounds right in the centre of Grasmere so close to everything and a perfect starting point for all the walks. Rhian who checked us in was a delight, so helpful and very friendly. Sadly, we only stayed a night and missed the free cream tea, however Rhian invited us to come back the day we were checking out, after our walk, to join for the cream tea. Such a nice touch. We will most definitely be back again, hopefully for a longer stay!
Nothing, it was all fabulous!
