On arrival, and throughout the entire duration of our stay, staff were uttely brilliant. No request was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. The use of spa facilities was excellent, and it was straightforward to book ourselves in for extra treatments. All of the food we had during our stay was sublime, and the set up of the breakfast buffet made the experience very enjoyable. Our meal in the main dining room, as well as the food and drinks we enjoyed in both the bar and the lounge, were fantastic. I cannot thank you enough for making our stay so memorable. I am extremely glad that I chose your hotel for our vacation as I propsed to my now-fiancee - you made our whole vacation special and memorable. Thank you so much!

The staff were fantastic, they couldn’t have gone above and beyond any more than they did! Not to mention the food was top notch!

We forgot to bring swimwear, not something I didn’t like however if they did sell swimwear for those they forgot it would be great.

Lovely breakfast and buffet was fabulous

Being unable to get into the restaurant in the first night, we then chose to eat in the lounge but were not able to eat at a table and chairs, very difficult to eat on our lap so we chose to eat out of the resort!

I don't often give 10/10 reviews, but I would struggle to mark down the value for money for our stay. Location - Excellent. Very close to Ambleside, Windermere, and Bowness, and Grasmere itself is worth a short visit. Hotel is right on the main road, but quiet, and with ample parking. Staff - All very friendly, at reception, breakfast, and in the spa facilities. Room - Very large. Loads of space for clothes. Safe included. HUGE BED! Bathroom was large again, and well equipped, with walk in shower and bath. Nice toiletries provided also. Food (Breakfast) - Excellent. I often find that relatively large hotels let themselves down with the cooled breakfast, but this was excellent - good quality food, and fresh. As expected continental breakfast, and nice cafetiere coffee brought fresh to the table. Nice views over the lake also. Spa - Good sauna, steam room, and thermal spa. Good, relaxed idea to provide bathrobes in the room, so that we could then return to the room to shower. We also had a 90 minute massage. Very nice, and got the full 90 minutes! Don't often say this, but would definitely return!

If I was really nit-picking, the car park could perhaps be better laid out. And perhaps spa guests could be reminded of the purpose of a "relaxation" room!

Loved the location. Came for the Fred Whitton Cycling challenge which started a couple of hundred meters down the road. Also perfect for seeing Dove Cottage (2 mins) and walks from the Daffodil around the Lake. Very comfy beds. Quiet at night. Mainly really friendly staff, especially Alex who went above and beyond for our dog (sausages just for her at breakfast!). The grounds were lovely. Didn’t experience the spa as we had the dog with us.

The only thing we’d change was that with a dog you have to eat in the lounge area. This is fine apart from that the tables are at coffee table height. So either you eat really bent over or you have to put your plates on a cushion on your lap like a TV dinner. Given you pay the same as eating in the restaurant this could be better. Just a few tables at a decent height would fix it.

Our room was large, actually a suite, with lovely view out over the lake, bathroom very clean with both a bath and a walk in shower.

We were staying Mon - Fri and having our dinner in hotel. On the Wednesday night the menu was changed reducing the choice of main courses to 4, with no fish. If you are only staying one or at most two nights this may be OK but if staying longer is very limiting. Whilst the quality of all the dishes we had was excellent, for a hotel of this quality I feel the choice available let them down. However, this would not deter us from returning

Everything really!! The hotel staff are lovely and welcoming. The place is stunning and views are breathtaking, especially if you get a room with a lake / Hill view. Spotless hotel, room was very big. Food was delicious, nothing was too much for any member of staff to help you with. My family has spa treatments and said they were fabulous, the pool area was gorgeous to lounge around. The outside area to relax was beautiful. Luckily we had amazing weather. We did the whisky tour at the lakes distillery which was so good, beware a taxi ride cost 80 pounds one way! We will Def stay here again when in the UK it was amazing, and a bonus it's dog friendly so I got my dog fix as we live overseas and we're missing ours!!

There's nothing to dislike If u want a powerful hairdryer take your own!

Some of the staff were very friendly and others made you feel like that you wasn't important.

The receptionist was talking to someone about applying for a job and she was showing her websites and saying things like when do you think you want to start and saying things like you give my boss an email and tell him that I said there was vacancies as someone was leaving.I appreciate that people want jobs but when you have a customer that is paying a lot of money to stay there I would have expected her to say il just deal with this customer but she didn't and made me stand there for about 8 minutes.totaly unexceptionable. In the restaurant for breakfast me and another gentleman in front had to find a clean plate as there was food debris on them and coffee stains on coffee cups.

First and foremost, this hotel is in a stunning location with beautiful views over the Grasmere lake. The views and grounds are spectacular. Our room was large and comfortable, and the service was excellent -- everyone was attentive and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was good, even though the decor there is odd

The room is getting long in the tooth -- the bottom of the bed was showing extensive wear and the couch was tired. Breakfast was fine, but unspectacular. The air conditioning was pretty feeble (although it got better once we had an engineer look at it).

Every single member of staff was polite, friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and the service was amazing! Food came out quickly, plates taken away just as fast. Cocktails were well made, and reception staff were willing to go the extra mile to help out where possible. Spa facilities were really nice too. On entry to my room, there was a "30th birthday" balloon on the bed with some chocolates - amazing!

It would have been nice to see a bit more seating around the pool, as both times we went we only just managed to grab seats and they weren't the best, but they were still comfy. The pool was lovely and warm!
