The most comfiest hotel bed I think I’ve ever stayed in. The room was absolutely stunning with the mountain few and the river running by, it was just perfect, especially having the balcony to sit out on. The products provided in the room (shampoo, body wash, conditioner, body lotion) were amazing, added to the spa experience. The restaurant set up is gorgeous with the lights. The spa although it’s very small compared to others and not as many spa facilities, it is still a nice and clean spa. The few from the small hydro pool is simply stunning.

The prices for the food in the hotel restaurant is very expensive and not a lot of vegetarian choices. I thought £22 for the only vegetarian main course meal (roasted aubergines) was a little extortionate. The desserts however are a good price and very tasty. There’s not a lot of food places open on the evening time around Grasmere so that is why we booked a meal at the restaurant. Otherwise you have to drive out of the town.

Even a small swimming pool , or plunge pool would enhance the overall enjoyment of the hotel. Lots of heat in the sauna but cooling down was more difficult. My biggest dislike was the added ten pounds a day parking fee which I was only informed about after booking. This really annoys me as it is just an added cost but hidden. It will prevent me from returning. I think that as a seasoned hotel resident it was an enjoyable experience if a bit overpriced.

Good and comfortable hotel in the center of the Lake District. Just a few steps from the center of Grassmere with several galleries, shops and cafes and only 15 minutes by car from Ambleside with even more galleries, shops and cafes. Many hiking opportunities around. Hotel offers good food, both breakfast and dinner. Room was very comfortable.

One of the facilities of the hotel here on Booking.com is: EV-charging point. This is NOT a standard EV-charging point with a type 2 connector providing 11kw charging, but simply a normal plug providing presumably only 3.5kw. This was very disappointing as there are only limited charging facilities in the Lake District (Windermere, 12 fast chargers is closest by).

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Dinner and breakfast were very good, especially dinner.

I am not sure why you need to pay for parking. Surely it should only be non-guests that pay for parking?

Lovely setting, exceptional food in the restaurant small spa area if required. Decor nice and fitting to hotel, comfortable bed and good bathroom / shower.

£10 per night parking charge excessive for hotel like this in an area such as this. Should be included in the room rate not seen as an extra profit centre.🙁🙁🙁🙁 Breakfast food was good but should have been hotter.

What a beautiful place to stay!! The setting, views, rooms, restaurant, spa and gardens were all beautiful. Joanna on Reception, Cassie who worked the night shift, Matthew & Sebastian from the restaurant & bar were all fantastic, super friendly & helpful - and a big thanks to all the lovely, hardworking staff we met. The food was delicious, especially the lamb & the sticky toffee pudding! We also enjoyed an afternoon tea that I'd recommend. Grasmere is in my opinion the perfect place to visit at the Lake District and don't miss a trip to Rydal caves, Wordsworth Dafodil Garden and the famous Gingerbread place, all in short walking distance. Not forgetting Alan House where we were lucky enough to see a red squirrel (the National Trust place close by). Ambleside the next town along, is also a lovely place to visit, also easy to reach on a bus, we did walk it.... 30,000 steps later.. so depends on your stamina if you'd enjoy - but a lovely and easy quick bus ride if not.

Beautiful setting, beautiful grounds, comfortable room, good food, friendly staff.

The car parking charge - £10 per night. Food and drink are expensive. Gratuities added automatically to everything. We had two meals and a modest number of drinks which added up to more than the room booking. We'd stay again but eat out more

We stayed with you on a last min decision when looking on booking. Com It was for my husband’s birthday and wedding anniversary that we put in the comments page. We booked a normal bedroom and when booking in was told we was upgraded to room 29 silver howe, this room in my opinion and looking at your webpage was not an upgrade, had the smallest window looking into the road and was absolutely red hot even with 2 fans on! But it would be because it was in the attic space, not a comfortable 3 night sleep at all!! Had to pay for parking !

Rothay Garden in Grasmere delivered a lovely, relaxing stay, even with the Lake District weather doing its best to test us whilst the rest of the country enjoyed a heatwave! Booked fairly last-minute, we arrived on a rainy Friday evening to a wonderfully warm welcome - particularly from the helpful receptionist who easily adjusted our restaurant reservation so we could make the most of the half-board offer. The dining experience was great, with standout dishes like the scallops and beef fillet, and attentive, polished service throughout. Our room was spotless and inviting, complete with a lovely patio area overlooking the river - a perfect spot to unwind. Daily spa access added a real touch of luxury, especially appreciated on a wet Saturday after walking around Grasmere Lake. With a great breakfast included to start each day and complimentary gin in the room, Rothay Garden offered exceptional value, comfort, and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back, and can’t recommend it highly enough for a relaxing, well-rounded getaway.

The rooms were lovely and comfortable, very spacious. Staff were so polite and attentive the whole stay. They were constantly asking how our day had been, engaging in conversation etc. The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk from the shops in grasmere and the surroundings were beautiful. The restaurant was lovely and we liked that breakfast was made to order. We’ll definitely stay again!

The spa was lovely but just quite small. This was not a problem but if you wanted to sit and relax you had to sit outside. People often leave towels on the heated loungers when not using them which means you can’t use them - a sign or something might be helpful. It also can get a little crowded but this didn’t bother us too much.
