June 2025
We stayed in a self contained annexe across from the main building so it was very quiet and secluded. Limited food menu for the evening meal but excellent quality food - we didn't stay for breakfast.
Even though it was June, the room was quite cold when we arrived - no central heating working but there were a couple of electric radiators available which did the job. Could really do with some sort of curtain for the front door though. No TV available until I fathomed out it was Internet tv (iplayer, itvx etc) and it needed connecting to the WiFi. The WiFi signal was only available right at the front door on my phone though - it could do with a booster because it was fine in the main building.

Honestly me and my fiancé had such a lovely stay at the hotel. The location is truly beautiful and peaceful we had a lovely view of the farm animals and the sleep was too good! We didnt expect the room to look so modern and we loved the bathroom cleanness 10/10. We live in London and we dont get to be around such a nature so this was truly one of the best experiences. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was lovely , just wish there was more of it 🤭
Maybe the parking could be a little bit bigger , because we were worried if we left to travel around the area we wouldnt have space left by the time we come back, but than again it made us stay in the location and just enjoy it more

The Three Shires Inn is in a perfect location. The silence, because of the lack of commotion and the beautiful countryside, is just one part of what makes this an amazing getaway. Let's start with the pub first. Great selection of ales (and other beverages). Ample of seating outside to bask in the rolling hills. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. We had a twin room, which was nicely decorated and overlooked stunning views. As for the new refurbed bathroom. The shower had powerful pressure. Fantastic ! The evening meal and the included breakfast were both excellent. You need to visit this place to visit during the day and of course to stay overnight. George is a great host and will make you feel cared for during your stay.

Love the location of The Three Shires - it's in a beautiful peaceful setting. There's a lovely small beer garden with flowers and running water - and private parking for guests. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have great views. Bathrooms are modern, bright with plentiful hot water and good pressure. Quality of food at breakfast and dinner is high, and seating areas pleasant.
Dining times are quite restrictive, dinner bookings are essential and breakfast is limited to a one-hour window from 8.15-9.15. As noted before, the quality of food is excellent, but portion sizes are small and not inexpensive.

The room was exactly as expected and even had a great view even though we went for a cheaper room. The food was incredible, my partner has been a chef for over 15 years and she was blown away by the quality of the food. Very impressed. All the staff where very friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. We will be coming back
Everything was great. The only tiny thing that we would improve would be a room service option. BUT this isn't a hotel its a BnB / Pub so it wasn't really expected anyway.

It is a little remote and road a bit narrow in places if passing another vehicle. Very comfortable stay and delicious food but the location didn’t suit us as just too far from nearest amenities. Must admit reading about Three Shires Inn didn’t really say that it was quite so remote. However we would recommend for walkers but we are not so somewhere nearer town centre would suit us better. We had a leak in our bedroom which was dealt with immediately and we were upgraded to the suite which was fantastic. Food and alcohol was on the expensive side but over all a very pleasant 2days.
Nothing to dislike about Inn.

From the welcome arrival until the morning we left we had the most chilled amazing stay at this gorgeous Hotel. The Staff were friendly but professional we didn’t ask for anything because we didn’t need to. Amazing food & drinks in the Cosy but bright Restaurant with every window enjoying a view of the Fells. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you.

Excellent base to explore Langdale with Cathedral Cave quarry and Slater's Bridge only a short walk away. The location really is picture postcard. Clean, modern room, delicious food and cosy restaurant with great ambience, friendly and attentive staff, safe and secure parking all at a reasonable price. The only minor personal recommendations for improvement would be a bigger selection of pillows and a summer duvet as we found them all a bit too bulky/warm. Otherwise a perfect short stay.

The location was amazing. The staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough to help. The sun was shining and the outside area was a complete sun trap. Loads of jets flying above which was incredible to watch. The food was delicious. The room was immaculate.
Despite being in April the room was too warm during the night and we had to open the window wide in an attempt to cool down the room. The room next door was particularly noisy at 6:30 am banging drawers and wardrobe doors.

Super clean and comfortable rooms of perfect size for two travellers. Very comfortable beds with lovely linen. Shower and bathroom were modern and clean. Very strong shower!! Love the walk in. We had dinner both nights on our stay in the restaurant below and food was exceptional. Delivered fast and fresh with great ingredients. Breakfast was also delicious. Perfectly situated for local walks within Langdale valley. We explored Slaters Bridge which was a 10 minute walk. And just a 10 minute drive up towards Blea Tarn.
Shower did get a little cold in the night time. And lost pressure for a minute or two when using, presume from maybe others using at the same time during busy times.
