The breakfast was lovely and the view from the room (a lakeside view room) was absolutely stunning. The staff were all great, but in particular I'd like to mention two members of staff at breakfast, Joy Gadia and Driss, who were wonderful, exceptionally friendly, attentive and helpful and who made the atmosphere at breakfast great. I'd also like to mention Charlie at reception, who was also fantastic, being really helpful and friendly whenever we needed to ask any questions.

There was nothing we particularly noticed. We really enjoyed our entire stay.

The location of the hotel is amazing - with the best panoramic views over the lake and sunset, a real gem on Windermere The place is a truly English spirit with cosy designs, a sweeping garden and a reading room There are a few shops nearby, a boat station is down the hill. If you plan on hiking, all the lakes are within an hour reach from the hotel The stuff is lovely, the food is amazing, try out their dinners as they are especially delicious

The hotel is currently under partial construction and there is scaffolding including the rooms which have a restricted view over the lake. It is communicated only after the hotel room is booked. The breakfast is a bit simple and plain but the rest of the food is perfect

Polite, friendly staff from start to finish. Nothing too much bother. Vegetarian and gluten free food available. Breakfast choices excellent. Room and bathroom, large and comfortable. Excellent location with views of nearby lake. Few minutes walk to town. Plenty of eateries, pubs, shops and boat trips.

Not really 'didnt like'. The hotel is undergoing g major refurbishment, so scaffolding up around parts of exterior and workmen there in the week, however, this didnt spoil outbreak as most of the time we were unaware of them working.

We have stayed here a couple of times now. Everytime we have came the staff have been so accommodating, kind, and a friendly face always! First impressions are very important in my opinion and meeting Ashley at reception is an asset to the company! Ashley is a friendly face, easy to talk to and takes his time to explain the hotel fully for new guests. We’ve check in with Ashley twice now and both times he’s gone above and beyond for us! Especially this stay when we we’re surprised to get an upgrade from a cozy lake view to a suite lake view, the perfect way to spend our anniversary 🥰 The breakfast was delicious as always! Compliments to the chefs!

Check-in was quick and efficient. The room was comfortable, we were offered an upgrade but as we had already unpacked preferred to stay where we were. We didn't dine on an evening, the breakfast was buffet style and was of good quality and choice. The walk through the gardens to lakeside was good. Overall a good choice.

All the building work slightly detracted from the overall appearance (May). The walk to the room carrying cases was hard work due to all the steps, the lift wasn't working. One of the breakfast staff was a bit surly, spilt beans all over my shoes with Zero reaction or assistance offered, let alone an apology!!!

Great location, central to everything needed, pleasant surroundings and the staff were very pleasant too. A great breakfast, welcome and depart and it was good that we checked in and were helped with the parking. We were given 2 days parking but charged for one as we arrived at 3pm for check in and to not rush after breakfast! Good thinking! Generally good decor in shared spaces, lots to see around the hotel and comfortable and cosy.

The bathroom was very tired and not kept as well as expected. Some things on checking in that you would expect to be informed about weren't (breakfast time and location, as examples) and we had to find out ourselves (no info in the room).

The position of this hotel is beautiful, and I was very lucky and grateful to have been upgraded to a 'lake view' room when I arrived, which was a lovely surprise! The view was spectacular. Good size room, very comfortable bed and large bathroom. All the staff I interacted with were very polite, friendly and professional.

The hotel in general is in need of a bit of a 'spruce' - it's tired in some places, although still very comfortable. The bath plug, for example, kept locking shut so wouldn't drain water without me removing it. Creaky floor boards and some issues getting the television to work. Only minor things, but they add up to make a difference.

Everything Other hotels claim to be " better" but they haven't got the location like the Belsfield. The harbour at the rear, with fantastic views, and the town centre 3 minutes away. No brainer

Its changed hands and we felt a little settling in was required in a few areas. So a couple of bumps in the road, but no worries. Our 3rd time and will be back again next year

I booked the hotel for my sister's 60th Birthday. She had always wanted to stay there as a child and we finally got to stay there. I asked for a bottle of prosecco to be put in the room for our arrival and this was arranged. From checking in by Charlie to checking out, the service was first class. Wonderful breakfast and service by Driss. Then we were given a tour of the hotel by John who told us about the history. He was so passionate about the Belsfield. The view from our room of the Lake was breathtaking and we didn't want to leave. Beautiful gardens and a joy to have a drink on the lawn looking out over Windermere. The Belsfield and staff created special memories for my sister and I and fulfilled childhood dreams.

Leaving. Just a point we do feel that parking should be included with the price of the stay.
