The hotel is a very historical building and you can see the windemere lake beautifully from its terrace. The hotel is nicely located from the historical town and its harbour. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a very noisy and drunk group staying above us. The staff went multiple times up to ask them to remain quiet in the late hours and offered us to switch rooms. As it was 1am we initially didn’t (we were tired and in pyjamas) but the next evening the noise started again. The staff immediately provided us with a room on the opposite side of the hotel and we had a lovely room, and no noise complaints anymore whatsoever. The breakfast is well stocked, with a variety of choices. Be aware that the things that look like pancakes are some sort of potato pancake. It could be helpful if local specialties would be marked (for example the sausages and this potato cake) because it was a bit of a surprise haha. However, great breakfast. The hotel is very clean and I enjoyed the bathroom. They are not large but modern, and the water pressure in the shower is pleasant. The beds are incredibly soft, but firm. Besides the noise (that was solved) they are really nice and we slept like a charm. Upon request you can get extra pillows if needed. Bear in mind that the elevator on one side of the hotel is very tiny and if you are in a wheelchair it may not fit you. I am assuming the hotel is accommodating to this because they have a wheel chair elevator to the first floor, so I think if you let them know you have this need you can get around easily in the hotel. Especially as they are so great in accommodating and communicating.
The hotel is an older (historical) building. This means the frame is wooden and the walls and floors are thin. For anyone normal going around (mindful while they walk and talk) this is perfectly fine. You will hear some creaks here and there and some mumbles, but nothing major and easily ignored. However if you are someone that is loud, stomps, wants to get pissing drunk or are a party group, please consider a different place. You will disturb others significantly.

Lovely hotel and decor throughout, stunning location. We had spacious room 117 with a balcony giving breath taking views, all in-room facilities were fabulous too. Everywhere was clean, our huge bed was super comfy, spotless bedding, had a great sleep. All the staff were helpful, friendly and professional - special mention to Lynn (receptionist extraordinaire). We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.
The food - such a shame as all the other elements of our stay were excellent/perfect. Evening meal - over priced, poor quality ingredients, presentation had no wow factor. I understand offering limited menu choices given many guests might prefer to eat elsewhere but what is offered should be of a far superior quality than it was which would tempt more guests to eat in. Overall, very disappointing. Breakfast - good variety of choices however the cooked items weren't hot, poor quality ingredients and the presentation was average. Unfortunately our food experiences fell extremely short from our expectations. Really looking forward to returning but, sadly, will probably eat elsewhere.

The staff where outstanding, helpful and friendly. The room was fine, comfy bed and plenty of towels and hot water... The main rooms at the front of the hotel have been carefully planned and are new, light and modern. All very clean as was the bedroom. The buffet breakfast was very good. View of the lake from a large outdoor terrace was exceptional. The location is very good and there is plenty of car parking space. To my mind it has the feeling of a hotel that has high demands of its staff which of course is a bonus for all residents. Worth a visit
Nothing really,. There was nothing to cause me any concerns

The hotel was lovely but needs a bit of TLC in places. Great location but some may find it difficult due to hill leading up to it. Pet friendly room was excellent with dog bowl, bed and treat waiting for us. Staff were friendly. Breakfast good. We got a really good deal when the sale was on but wouldn't be able to afford otherwise (should have been £1600+ for the week we stayed).
Not a lot of parking for the size of hotel and it costs £7.50 per night. There was a wedding whilst we were there and it was a struggle to park. Drinks in bar were a touch on the expensive side. When we put our sign out to have the room made up, we got fresh towels and the bed was "made" but refreshments weren't topped up.

We extremely enjoyed our stay here! All of the staff were lovely, helpful and talkative and one of the managers recognised our accent and were so lovely with us. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was to use the pool and we did. We were surprised when there was a hot tub too! This was amazing and so relaxing . I had a massage (for an hour and half) - one of the best massages I’ve ever had! You do have to pay for parking but was much cheaper than the prices for parking at other hotels in the area. It was really busy on the car parks but there are two areas to park and when we arrived the manager was outside helping people to park and making sure they could park somewhere on site. Breakfast was great - what you would normally get as choices in a hotel. We stayed in a Biskey Lake View room . The room was very spacious with an amazing view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom/shower was spacious and brilliant. We used the hotel bar every evening (after returning from the town) and it was a good atmosphere and a great area to enjoy a drink. Overall, we would definitely stay at this hotel again! It is in a great location!
Amazing location but we weren’t a fan of the hill to walk back to the hotel after an evening out. There were little parts in our room (mainly painting) which needed a little maintenance but this was nothing major and didn’t bother us at all.

Room was comfortable and clean. Lovely view of the lake, great for morning wake ups. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and good quality fare from local producers. Parking was good considering locations we have stayed in past had no facilities at all. Great location with a short walk into Bowness for night time bars and restaurants. Although the hill on return to the hotel is not one you look forward too haha. Bar area is spacious and comfortable and well stocked, Jonathan did his best to look after all guests and any requests a credit to the hotel. Even showed us around the new unopened spa facility.
None. Hotel is good and does what it says. Can’t wait for the spa to be open.

Lovely hotel, it has a nice relaxed atmosphere when you walk in. Receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Had room 216, nice view of the lake in the distance. Room quite basic but very clean, bed very comfortable, (had good sleeps), asked for more pillows, they arrived within 10 minutes. Nespresso machine was faulty, leaked everywhere so couldn't use it I'm afraid, very small cups there for that but no large ones for a normal tea or coffee. Toilet flusher needs sorting, I couldn't get it to work but husband did thankfully even though that wasnt the ideal situation, bit embarrassing! Lights above mirror in bathroom didn't work atall so not enough light in there to do hair/makeup etc. We went down for breakfast at 7am(ish), lots of choice on buffet, well cooked full brekky, very nice. Apart from the few things that need sorting, we enjoyed our stay at The Ro very much and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

As returning visitors we emailed a few times requesting a quiet room, they assured us we'd be pleased with the room allocated. Unfortunately it was at the rear over looking another roof with vents, and located on a large long corridor with many rooms. The room doors were constantly slamming shut (all need the closers adjusting) and conversations were frequent as excited guests made arrangements or met up in the echoing corridor. We love the hotels meals, and location but will certainly ensure we're in the other wing next time. Just very sad the hotel didn't respect our request.

Couldn't fault our room - room 109, the Family Lakeside View. Room and bathroom were huge. Bathroom very modern and spotless. Kingsize bed, really comfortable. The sofa bed was tucked away in an 'alcove' with its own wall mounted TV. This arrangement worked perfectly for us. Ours was only a one night stay but there was plenty of storage space should we have needed it. Free bottles of water provided and a good choice of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. You won't be disappointed! Breakfast buffet was also excellent - full range of cooked items, cereals, fruit and pastries. We didn't use any other facilities.
Car parking is an issue, there is insufficient capacity and spaces cannot be reserved. We were lucky to take the last space available on a Saturday evening.

The Ro Hotel is in the perfect location for getting around Bowness. It is a short walk either down to the lake or up to the shops and restaurants. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bar and restaurant are lovely areas to sit in the evening. We had dinner in the restaurant one night, and the food and service were great. The best thing about the Ro is the staff. From check in to check out, we were greeted with friendly, professional people who are obviously very committed to putting customers at ease. Similarly with the bar and restaurant staff, who made us feel welcome and valued.
Needs more car parking spaces, cars were parked all over the place, but that didn't spoil our stay.
