The location was excellent ,only a few minutes walk to shops ,restaurant and the lake. We had a beautiful room in the converted attic ,tastefully decorated Enjoyed a hearty breakfast . A lovely touch was home baked cake and cookies provided for the guests to enjoy.

There is quite a steep hill to climb to reach the property ,which may be difficult for elderly or the less mobile .

Very homely place to stay. The room was spotless and comfortable. The host and housekeeping lady were friendly and accomodating. Plenty to choose from at breakfast time, including a delicious cooked breakfast. The hotel felt safe and is tucked away from the busier areas of Bowness, but within a short walk from Lake Windermere. The complimentary homemade cakes provided a nice personal touch- the melt in the mouth shortbread is to die for! The garden was full of beautiful bright flowers. The owners have made this place just perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend.

The property was easy to find and was within a 5min walk to the shops and restaurants. Also very close to the lake and Beatrix Potter museum. We received a polite text message from Nick enquiring an ETA so that our room was prepared. When we arrived it was raining heavily and as we had left home at 10am in the morning when the Sun had been shining we forgot our umbrella. Nick kindly lent us his. The property was very tastefully decorated throughout. Our room was located on the 1st floor and was well equipped with tea snd coffee facilities. Nick our host explained everything thing to us clearly and also directed us to a fridge we had access to for fresh milk and cake, incase we didn’t like the sachet milk. We were given a front door key so there was no time limit on getting back in the evening/night. Breakfast was superb, we had freshly squeezed orange juice which was very sweet, cereal, full English where everything was cooked to perfection. Also on offer was yogurts, fruit, bread for toast, variety of jams and delicious tea and coffee served in China tea cups. We certainly was spoilt. From the breakfast room we enjoyed a beautiful, well stocked garden. The spring azaleas, rhododendrons and wisteria really gave our eyes a joyful pleasure. If we had stayed longer snd the weather slightly warmer we really would have enjoyed having breakfast outside on the terrace. Nick really has made the experience of B&B 100% a joy. We would surely recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back ourselves in the no too far future.

Everything was perfect

Beautifully kept, with gorgeous gardens. Has sufficient and free parking. Very close to town. The room we stay in is the top floor king suite and is exceptional and has everything you need. Fabulous shower and very comfy bed! Nick, the host, has usually cooked a treat which you can help yourself too; this weekend we had fruit tealoaf and cookies - gorgeous. And whilst I’m talking food, the full English breakfast is exceptional (I think the best I’ve had in a B&B!!).

It’s at the top of a very steep hill so wouldn’t suit everyone - if nothing else, it helps to walk off the breakfast and treats 😊

The hotel was set in a quiet location but not too far from the centre. The room was well equipped..kingsize bed (very comfortable); lots of space with 3 armchairs & table with pleasant view of garden and scenery. Bathroom with good size bath & shower head.. The decor was tasteful & breakfast was excellent. Overall warm & welcoming AND let's not forget the ginger & short bread homemade biscuits...delicious! Good host - and did everything to make our time enjoyable!

We loved the layout of the room with its high ceilings but noticed a few cobwebs which could have easily been overlooked around the room. (Probably woudnt have notice until we looked up at the pastel coloured walls from the bed. It didn't spoil our time & would definitely consider a return visit.

Our stay at this charming guesthouse was nothing short of delightful! We were lucky enough to book a spacious and beautifully decorated room in the attic, which offered a cozy and serene atmosphere. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast that surpassed our expectation. One of the standout features of this guesthouse is its ideal location. Just a short walk from the town center and the picturesque lake, it was incredibly convenient to explore the area. Whether we wanted to take a leisurely stroll by the water or enjoy the local shops and cafes, everything was within easy reach. But what truly made our stay special was the warm hospitality of the owner. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and well-cared for. Each day, we were treated to fresh cake, which added a lovely personal touch to our experience. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed.

It was our second stay and again we chose the smaller but perfect room. The extra effort Nick goes to does not go unnoticed. The biscuits in the room and the selection of drinks. The bathroom facilities. The fresh milk, water in bottles the home made cakes, cookies and “wow” the mince pies all add to that extra special trip away. The house is warm and welcoming and has lots of character it’s a small stroll up the hill (or down the other way) into town. There’s loads of bars and restaurants near as well as loads of nice walks and of course the lake. We will definitely be returning.

The property was in a lovely setting with a beautiful garden. Very tastefully decorated with a comfortable lounge and log fire, which was lit every day we stayed this December. Everything was very good quality from bedding and towels to furniture and furnishings. A very comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom with power shower. Great breakfast and homemade cookie, mince pies, cheese, nibbles and Christmas cake provided was a lovely personal touch. We would definitely recommend this accommodation when staying in the lakes. The staff was very helpful and friendly We arrived late in the evening and the staff pointed us to a lovely pub to get some food .The room was clean and tidy,the bed was so comfortable the on-suiet bathroom was beautiful and quite spacious. We had breakfast and this was really nice and filling us up until evening. All in all I would definitely stay again and even recommend to friends. And it was quite central to town.

Nothing about the hotel but only were it was situated as it was a very steep hill and not to good if disabled persons with walking difficulties and asmatics which I am.

The care and detail to quality that the owner had put into fitting out the rooms was exceptional. The bathroom was fantastic beautifully laid out, quality fittings, bath and shower. Lovely and warm with ample supply of hot water. The double bed was also extremely comfortable and clean. Nice quiet room. Plenty of hidden extras laid on by the owner. Breakfast was also exceptional, well cooked and presented using quality bacon, sausages etc with an ample amount of food. I would highly recomend this hotel and will be visiting again in the future. The owner successfully offers the best services to his customers and takes pride in doing so. Possibly the owner had had a bad day when we arrived as the following morning he was very amicable and presented an excellent breakfast.
