We had a wonderful stay at the Burn How Garden Hotel. The location was fantastic – close to everything yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful – and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. Our room was lovely, spacious, and very comfortable, making it a great place to relax after a day out exploring. The included breakfast was excellent – delicious, fresh, and with plenty of options to suit all tastes. Overall, a charming hotel with gorgeous surroundings and a truly enjoyable stay.

One small downside was that the room didn’t have a bar fridge, which was a little disappointing. While the staff were happy to supply buckets of ice, keeping drinks cool proved a bit of a challenge.

The staff were very kind, helpful, and courteous. They ensured that our needs were met by providing a ramp for wheelchair access into our room. They also provided a shower chair, etc, for the wet room. The location was excellent, only 10 minutes walk to the lake, or into the town centre. Please note: Due to steep paths in the local area, an electric wheelchair or scooter is safer than manual wheelchairs or walkers. The breakfast choices were amazing, well presented, and very tasty. Packed lunches were available for purchase, which we used a couple of times. These were freshly made and contained fruit, drink biscuits or yogurt as well as sandwiches. Our room had a covered outdoor seating area, which could be accessed using the patio doors and a portable ramp. Or, as it was on the corner, access could be from the side of the building.

It's a perfect location for our first visit to Windermere. We reached the pier and peter rabbit attraction by walking distance. Its family friendly. Parking in front of our room. Staff is super friendly and super helpful. The breakfast they provided was so good. The restaurant was elegant and cozy. All waiters and waitresses were so professional, kind, and decent. Our family loves this hotel so much. We highly recommend Burn How Garden hotel.

It's not really affecting a lot. Just if the TV connection is better and if there's a hair conditioner provided, it will be even better than perfect.

Room was large and airy ..Patio to relax on and seating in the garden /Grounds we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather ...Bath and Shower which we wanted ...Quiet Location but only a walk to the Lake with the cruises ...Breakfast room was lovely in the old part of the house ...First day breakfast 10/10 ... ......Second Day Not as good was overcooked and dry ...Obviously different chef ?.......Brilliant Staff .....Everyone we came into contact with .....

Not much we didnt like .... Just Costructive Comments .......Possibly a mini fridge in the room would have been great to keep water /Drinks cold ...A safe to keep personal items safe ..instead of having to take eveyrthing out with us .....We didnt have a TV remote that worked ...was given another one but that wasnt compatible ? Not a major issue but we do like to relax with a catch up on tv .....when we came back from sightseeing

The location was perfect to access our tours, restaurants and pubs. We liked being a little walk out of the town as it was very busy in the town during our visit. We both enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the selection of hot breakfasts. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. The staff were very friendly and one particular lady remembered we liked being by the window to watch the birds and made sure we sat there for breakfast.

The room we were moved to was lovely, on the ground floor and with a small seated area outside the room. The breakfast area was in a separate building and there were pretty gardens at the rear of the property. It wasn't possible to see the Lake from the places we saw but it wasn't far to walk to the waterside. The staff we met were very helpful.

Our first room was on the 3rd floor and in the eaves which we hadn't expected from the description of the room. We were moved as the room hadn't been cleaned.

Service: The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to assist. From check-in to check-out, the service was impeccable. They were happy to offer local tips, which really enhanced our visit to Bowness on Windermere. Location: The hotel is ideally located just a short walk from the center of Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere. Despite being so close to local attractions, it maintains a peaceful and secluded atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Breakfast: The highlight of our stay was the incredible breakfast each morning! The selection was impressive, ranging from hearty full English options to lighter choices like fresh fruit and cereals. Every dish was prepared to perfection, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. The cooked breakfast in particular was outstanding – eggs were done just right, the bacon and sausages were delicious, and everything was served piping hot. It was clear that a lot of care and attention went into every meal. We looked forward to breakfast every morning – it truly set the tone for the day! Overall, Burnhow Garden Hotel is a gem in the heart of the Lake District. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with excellent service and a standout breakfast, this is the place to stay. We left feeling thoroughly relaxed and well-fed.

All staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Nothing as too much trouble. Breakfast was fabulous & dining area was superb & overlooked the garden. Garden was gorgeous & a central but very peaceful place to stay. Large bedroom area & garden views. The hotel was clean & comfortable.

Bathroom would benefit from being modernised & have a large walk in shower- but was clean, spacious & adequate.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Location was perfect, tucked away from the busy center - which was only a few minutes walk away. Jack checked us in, showed us to our room, and hosted us in the the lounge each evening - he was great and we felt very looked after. He was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent - really enjoyed it.

Our room was a bit tired looking. We were informed that it was due a refurb so that will be sorted out soon. Everything else was perfect.

Amazing beautiful place. Staff so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Room was lovely and comfortable with private balcony. Breakfast amazing. Great choice and lovely buffet tables. Will definitely be back 👍

It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room. Especially during the summer to keep juice and drinks chilled. However this didn't spoil our trip.
