We were greeted by the most friendliest of people, Susann and Glen. Who were fabulous. This gorgeous well maintained property is in the heart of Windermere. We loved the walks. We will visit again!

What a hidden gem. A wonderful stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly . The house was clean and food was lovely. Would highly recommend and I am sure we will visit again.

An absolute gem of a B and B! Well placed for touring the Lake District. Susan and Glenn made us feel very welcome, and even offered us coffee and a mince pie on arrival. They also gave me a card on my birthday! Room 3 (Victorian Suite) was fabulous with a spacious bedroom and king-size four poster bed. The dressing room was a most useful space, and the bathroom was large and well fitted. The decor throughout the house was elegant and tasteful. The Christmas decorations, twinkling fairy lights and candles enhanced the overall ambience. The breakfasts were served in the attractive dining room, with linen tablecloths and fine china. They were plentiful and very tasty with a comprehensive choice. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge on one evening, chatting to other residents. We'll certainly return in the summer, so we can take advantage of the attractive garden. Thank you, Susann and Glenn for a most enjoyable stay.

There was nothing to dislike.

Glenn and Susann are exactly what you would want from owners of a private guesthouse. Warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, caring, they truly embody the best of the area. We came as a group of 4 for a weekend getaway and could not have asked for a better stay. Meticulously clean, incredibly organised, breakfast was brilliant, as a guesthouse proprietor myself I can say definitively there is no expense spared at Storrs Gatehouse. A collective decision in our group we would 100% return again. Many thanks to everyone at Storrs for all their hospitality.

Very warm and welcoming, location just outside of centre of Bowness but near the marina and not far away at all. Lovely Boathouse bar / restaurant nearby absolutely worth a visit and handy for an evening tipple. Suzanne went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and even provided Prosecco on arrival for my husbands birthday (arranged with her in advance). Breakfast was great. Beds comfy. Rooms were well appointed. We were kindly upgraded to the suite, which has a lovely sitting area. Would not hesitate to stay again.

How clean it was, the food is delicious and plenty of choice. The bed and pillows are super comfy, a good size TV. Our shower was amazing, quite powerful and plenty if hot water. We had a room with a separate dressing area which was great. Tea, coffee milk etc was replenished plus a little fridge in the room as well which was handy for keeping drinks and fruit chilled. My fav was toiletries from The White Company which smells divine.

Susan the owner was more than helpful. The bedroom was recently decorated and it was lovely. The breakfast was outstanding and being able to park easily was great.

The downside was the bedroom was on the top floor an attic room so we had about three flights of stairs to climb not very good in our middle 60s .Also we were locked in our room in the morning couldn't open the lock at all luckily I have a mobile phone as had to find phone number then ring them to let us out ,Hopefully this has been rechecked as I asked .

Absolutely the best B&B we've stayed in so far, Glenn and Susann are the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome upon arrival. The room was very clean and furnished to a high standard. In fact, the whole building was, I can't limit it to the just the room. After a good comfy nights sleep, you then have breakfast that really was first class. A lovely B&B that's well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed. Convenient location to get anywhere whilst still very close to the lake and quiet at night.

Susann and Glen are lovely, welcoming hosts who gave us helpful tips on where to go locally and how we can get around easily. We booked our visit after our wedding and they took the time and effort to decorate the room with Mr and Mrs bunting, and congratulated us on our arrival. The morning breakfasts were delightful and they sat us looking on to their beautiful garden every morning. We highly recommend a visit and we would happily visit again. They are both truly wonderful people and it's a delightful and gorgeous place, couldn't have been made to feel more welcome and cared for throughout! Thanks so much for our wonderful stay.

There was nothing not to like, fantastic visit

Me and my partner stayed here over the weekend. This BnB is absolutely beautiful, we were met immediately with a warm friendly smile and greeted by both the hosts . We were shown up to our room which was immaculate, very clean ! In the morning breakfast was delicious, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Everyone greeted you with a smile and we were given lots of helpful tips for walks and places to see in the area . Will definitely be back!
