Great location – just a short walk from the centre of Bowness Friendly, welcoming host (Bernard) who gave excellent local recommendations Spacious, light and airy king room (Room 1) – even with extra bed made up Spotlessly clean room and en suite Quiet stay despite being at the front of the property Felt very secure – smart lock and Ring doorbell fitted Tea, coffee, and bottled water provided daily Handy information folder in the room with menus and things to do Room 2 (stayed in by others in our party) also very clean and comfortable

No designated parking – street parking available but limited and not guaranteed Pillows in Room 1 were very soft and a bit lumpy – not the most comfortable for us Tempur mattress in Room 2 wasn’t to our guests’ taste (personal preference) We’d mentioned a special birthday in advance – would have been lovely to have had a small acknowledgement, though it didn’t affect our overall enjoyment

This was such a lovely stay. The property is really well located for access into Bowness, with only a 2 min walk into the centre of the town. The room was immaculately clean, and very spacious. Bed was so comfy, and we liked the small touches of the tea/coffee/water as well as a book FULL of recommendations for nearby restaurants. Michelle and Bernard were super friendly and helpful too. We stayed in the super king room and you get a designated parking spot right outside of your room - this was great as parking in the lakes can be notoriously difficult! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most definitely be back! Really recommend if you’re heading into Bowness on Windermere for the weekend.

Nothing - we couldn’t fault a thing!

In a fab location, room was large & well furnished with 2 large windows letting in lots of light. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. The shower room was really modern plus everything felt very clean.

Only criticism would be not enough coffee/milk etc only enough for one drink really & not a fan of the little UHT cartons. I would imagine parking can be an issue, however we dropped on a space on the street very close by.

Bernard and Michelle were amazing hosts, we stayed in the dog friendly room which was fantastic, spacious and clean. Had our own entrance via balcony doors and directly next to the car parking space which was a huge help. Our dog Peanut was a huge fan of the free doggy biscuits left in the room. We also were given fresh cold drinking water daily. We can’t wait to stay again, hopefully next year.

From the friendly, informative welcome, to the extremely comfortable bed and fantastic recommendations for food, drinks and entertainment. This was a perfect stay for us! It was central to busy Bowness but set back in a quiet location with plenty of free parking on the road. We had a brilliant time and would 100% return - Thank you so much!

I honestly couldn’t fault this place!

Myself and my partner had a brilliant weekend in the lakes and we will certainly be returning to Bowness Guest House. Fantastic location in the middle of Bowness, room was spotless, with a lovely comfy bed and the hosts of the guest house couldn’t do more for us. Lovely couple and provided us with lots of information and places to go during our stay.

What can I say it was just amazing location amazing hosts amazing so friendly and helpful room amazing very clean and bright the bed was so comfortable parking was no problem we had an amazing 3 nights here nothing was to much for the hosts would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Absolutely nothing.

We stayed in Room 1 with bay window and sofa. Very comfortable kingsize bed. Bright, clean, spacious room, recently decorated. Fresh water left outside room every morning and plenty of tea, coffee, milk. Quiet location but not far from centre.

No fresh cups over 3 days but we could have asked if we wanted them changed. Shower temperature and pressure sometimes fluctuated, suspect when other rooms were using shower. Shower door didn't fully close but no water overflowed. Maybe one or two hooks in bathroom would be a good idea to hang damp towels. Parking on street is tight but it's free!

Very accommodating for having a child with us. Owners were personable and chatty. Close to town, walking distance. A safe homely feeling staying here. Would most definitely recommend to others.

The parking situation but it can’t be helped!

The hosts were lovely, the room was beautiful and clean, and the location was close to the lake and all the shops & restaurants. Lots of nice decor details in the room. Very close to an awesome lookout point on the lake.

The only thing that could be improved is that the mattress is a little harder in room 1 than I am used to but the mattress in room 2 was nice and soft.
