Fantastic standard posh hotel. Beautyfull details in the room, huge bathroom. Very confortable. Via Booking.com we got a very good price so the value for money was great. Food was ve4y good, maybe the best in england.

In the very good restaurant there was a surcharge on the Bill of 12% for service . The brittish people are very thoughtfull, polite and friendly. So we did not espect this very rude american way of doing business. A shame.

It's a bit embarrassing to give full marks - as though we're not properly discerning! However, this property really is exceptional in our view. From the immaculate car park to the lovely walk up the lane opposite; from the professional staff to the exquisite breakfast; from the huge room to the torrential hot shower... and not forgetting those giant chunky beams everywhere. Someone has gone to lots and lots of trouble to get ahead of the competition. Genuinely outstanding property and fabulous value for money. Delighted. Dog very happy too! No surprise that there were plenty of guests. We had dinner, too, which was inventive, delicious and reasonably-priced. Breakfast to die for included in the price (check out the haddock)

Lovely staff, superb attention to detail. Our room was so comfortable. We booked for a Sunday evening meal, the bar/restaurant are so comfortable, we were seated next to the warm fire, which we loved. The starters were gorgeous, and roast dinners were the best we have had. Breakfast in the morning was so wholesome, with fantastic homemade, local buffet options, and a superb breakfast menu. The location was brilliant with walks from the hotel, which we loved exploring with our terrier. We will definitely return and recommend it too.

Rooms above us were noisy at night and constant heavy footsteps, not sure if they had dogs that couldn't settle.

This was the perfect overnight stay and we would love to have stayed longer. We decided last minute to break our journey home with a walk around the Ingleton waterfalls trail and this was a nearby place to stay. We were over the moon with our choice. The room was fabulous with really lovely touches; the staff were all friendly and helpful; the food was flawless too. We had an evening meal which was excellent and the breakfast menu was fabulous with lots of choice, and it was delicious. Can’t recommend highly enough. 11/10

A luxurious weekend with my wife and our puppy. We loved everything about this place. So easy to get to, awesome staff- polite, swift, helpful, the whole place is spotless. Food is great, breakfast generous and delicious and the room.... we paid a small amount extra to upgrade rooms to 'Torsin', which is a huge suite with record player, coffee machine laods of windows, really comfortable bed and huge bathroom, with freestanding bathtub. We wanted a weekend to relax whilst the kids were camping and this delivered everything that we wanted. 10/10.

Travelling from Scotland to England and found this gem. From the moment you walk in it's stunning, the rooms were spacious and the bathroom was huge. Lots of lovely touches like bath salts and robes. The bed was so comfy I had the best night sleep. The breakfast was brilliant lots of choice on the cold buffet all fresh and locally produced and menu for the hot choices again everything's tasted really good and fresh the staff were so lovely and friendly and were very accommodating.will definitely be staying here again

My partner and I were looking for a night away and chose here and were glad we did. As soon as we went in we had a lovely welcome and upgraded to a suite. The room was beautifully decorated and was a huge room. The bathroom was beautiful the double sided bath was perfect. The room we stayed in was Torsin and would definitely stay there again. The bathrobes were a lovely touch and all the toiletries were nice. This place is definitely a hidden Gem and we would highly recommend, we had our evening meal here and food was lovely and service was great, had lovely cosy fires with comfy sofas to sit and relax after our meal, breakfast was amazing a great finsh to a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon

We have stayed here many times over the years. So convenient just off the M6. The whole place has a wonderful and friendly ambiance. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and luxurious. Your staff are all lovely and very helpful, especially Bouba.

We were disappointed with the evening meal menu. The menu has changed. Not a great choice, rather basic really, and the cost of The Chateaubriand steak or the Tomahawk Steak was unbelievable. They were the prices you expect to pay in a top restaurant in London!

Spacious and comfortable country inn. Nicely appointed rooms, and a shower that just has to be experienced once in your life.

Incessant music, from early morning to inn close, played above a comfortable level. Not just a background din, but drive-you-out-of-the-room noise, penetrating the upstairs rooms…out of place for a country inn atmosphere.

What a find! This is the best property of its type I have ever stayed in. In a great location less than 5 minutes from the M6 the Plough delivered on all levels. Our room was outstanding much better than many hotels offer for a significantly higher price. A lovely dinner and a superb breakfast just added to our enjoyment. To top it all a really lovely team who were so warm and welcoming throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

I cannot fault the Plough on any level - our stay was full of those little personal touches that set it apart .
