Lovely, friendly, helpful staff at reception, bar, dinner and breakfast. Truly a delight. Look after them. Excellent dinner. Good quality breakfast, so much variety. Easy for taxi to pull up outside. Beautiful view from window. Huge room. Lovely toiletries in bathroom. Room kept to very high standard, cleanliness and decor.

Not their fault, but. Swimming pool unfortunately wasn’t working, I’d booked an earlier train so that I could get a swim in before dinner and potentially one the next morning. Minor attention to detail needed over cleanliness issues - I found food in the sofa.

Pool area was clean, nice sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Breakfast good choice although Friday morning better than saturday. Bathroom in room was nice and modern.

Saturday morning breakfast not as good as Friday...constantly having to ask for things to be replenished ie bowls/plates/juice/pancakes...coffee machine issues on Saturday morning and some tables are too close to things like the toasters or coffee machine so people queueing where your trying to eat. Room quite small and beds being doubles are really small in this day and age should be at least king size as standard

Great central location for our little road trips. Great Brewers fayre pub 5 minute walk away with reasonable prices. Good breakfast every morning, which is included in the price of the room. Reasonable prices for drinks and evening dinner within the hotel too.

Spa treatments were carried out by someone independently who cancelled our treatments an hour before the treatment time. There was no nozzle on the hair dryer. I hung the towel up like the sticker said and the cleaners replaced the towels everyday. Even when I put the sign on the door to say cleaners didn't need to come in they still came in.

Clean Hotel with Good Facilities We stayed around 2 days, The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. The swimming pool and other facilities are quite good and added to the overall experience. Kids enjoyed the break fast and dinner.

We had booked a room with breakfast included, but were asked to pay again for breakfast at the hotel. This was quite disappointing and caused unnecessary confusion. Hopefully, this was an issue on Booking.com’s side, but it’s something to be aware of when making a reservation.

I stayed at this hotel as a teacher with my colleagues and 21 students while visiting and exploring the north of England on a school trip. We were really satisfied with everything - the location, the facilities in the hotel - there is a swimmming pool and a gym too - great not just for students. We had half board - the food was excellent, there was a large selection for breakfast and a substantial evening meal as well, which we all really enjoyed. But most of all, we appreciated the approach of the staff - everyone was welcoming, ready to help straight away with any of our inquiries or questions and always very polite and kind. We'll definitely come back again.

There's nothing we could complain about.

comfy bed and good breakfast a little tired in places but all round good value, staff were friendly and helpful very accomodating for dogs also.

my only issue was that on the booking.com site when i booked i booked with bed and breakfast and half board for £20.00 extra payable at the hotel apparently this is not an option available and the hotel restaurant is very expensive so we had to find alternative not so easy when you have a dog with you hence why i booked this option,

Helpful, friendly staff. Spacious room with good shower. Really nice breakfast, great choice. Dog friendly. Very easy to get to and plenty of parking. Easy to get down to the Riverside path to walk the dog.

It was busy which was great but meant that we could have done with more lounge/bar space for meeting our extended family. I think there was a function going on in the room behind the reception so that reduced the available space which just meant we ended up going to the pub over the road instead, so not a problem.

Breakfast was excellent. It was nicer than the breakfast that I had in a fancy, hip cafe in town. The bed was very comfortable. I liked the size of the room. I like that there were plenty of places to sit without having to leave the hotel. It was also pleasant talking to other guests - it made it feel friendly, especially as I was a solo traveller. All the staff were very friendly and willing and they helped carry my bags up to the room which made a big difference to me. This was my third or fourth stay at the hotel and I would definitely go again.

The health club wasn't quite as luxurious as I remembered. The guys on the desk were very friendly but they didn't give me a towel and I had to ask for one. Also there was some kind of exercise class going on and I could hear the music from my room and I was on the second floor (!) but fortunately it calmed down after a couple of hours. I think the stay was quite expensive but all hotels are expensive at the moment and I really enjoyed my time there. I couldn't turn the radiator down which meant it was very hot.

Room: we requested a room (at the end of the corridor) far from the lift and the stairs due to the noise. It was available and the room was renovated (new bathroom). Good toiletries available in the bathroom. Spacious room. Mattress / bed: the bed was firm and comfortable. Breakfast: good vegan options: vegetables, fruit, plant-based milk, cereal, bread, tea. Early start at 06:30 during the week. Location: good to walk the dog; very close to a walking path. Dinner: good vegan options in the menu. Staff: very friendly and willing to help. Proximity to the motorway: despite our bedroom being very close to the motorway, it wasn't too noisy. We used earplugs due to many ambulances passing. Free drinks: two free drinks on arrival.

Check-in and check-out times. Too late to check-in and too early to check-out. Not possible to add my IHG membership due to booking via Booking.com.

check in was fine ,nice polite young lady explained everything to us ,first room had a broken window catch so wouldn't shut ,this was rectified straight away, next room was very good, spacious and comfortable bed,had evening meal which was excellent, good portions. didn't have time to use leisure facilities but checked them out for next time

breakfast although a good variety wasn't very hot
