Staff was extremely friendly and kind constantly checking in on you when you head down to the pub. The room was cozy and the bedding so comfy. The towels were amazing too! Having breakfast offered to order was great!

There was some mold on the shower wall which was kind of icky. I also didn't realize when I booked, my fault of course, it was above a pub which wasn't great for the nights I had to go to sleep early as the music bled through the floor. The door for guests was also quite loud when closing. Breakfast is offered from 8am to 10am which also isn't great if you're like me and have early days where I had to be out at the university or traveling by 8 or 8.30 as you don't have enough time to eat (and you have to pre-order your breakfast the day before). If you're not a fan of walking to get into town it is about a 10-15min walk out of the way.

Lovely hotel and pub with character. Staff were all great, from check in, to evening meal in the bar, to breakfast. All very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfast. Not a big menu, but well cooked and nice and hot. Decent coffee too. We had a lovely twin room, beds were comfy, pillows a bit hard for me, but I am fussy! Bathroom is showing its age, but it was clean and the shower worked well. No shower gel, but we had our own. Location was great, the Castle and main shops were all close by. Great value for what you get there. All in all I really the staff and the place and I would definitely recommend it.

Loved the place! I only had minor niggles.

We arrived hours before our check in time but it wasn't any bother to the hotel to look after our luggage while we explored around Lancaster.we had a Sunday roast later that evening which was nice and good value but I would advise anyone who doesn't like their meat rare to mention it when ordering. We had breakfast the following morning which was exceptional as we're all the staff during our stay.We will definitely use this hotel again on our next visit to Lancaster and highly recommend it.

Only being there for one night as we were carrying on up to Scotland for a week.

Immaculate,The room was spotless from the skirting to top of wardrobe NOT one spec of dust anywear.food beautiful, view from room lovely, staff went above and beyond perfect location to town, bus and train stations (morecambe and preston 15mins on train) There is plenty of instant hot water for bath and shower didn't have to wait for it A lift if need be.Perfect Room would probably be small to others but not to us because it was perfectly formed TV kettle hairdryer large bath towel and medium towel.Entrance so you didn't have to use the restaurant Food prices in restaurant didn't break the bank Breakfast filled you up for the day plenty to choose from One word it was PERFECTION (little note every place will have it wear and tear not every place is going to be like it was the day it opened) A massive thankyou to Di and Lucy for welcoming us with open arms also to the other staff all gems

Firstly, the staff were exceptional (especially Daisy and the lady that served breakfast) - so friendly and welcoming. The pub had a great atmosphere and clearly very family friendly, food was excellent, especially the breakfast (which was included in the room price). The room was very comfortable with views over the river. Tea, coffee, water, with some lovely homemade biscuit - a super touch. Parking was on the road to the front of the pub and only allowed for 3 hours during the day which was not a problem for us.

The room was stunning and had a great view of the river. It was easy to return to the property after the pub downstairs had closed as there was a separate entrance for the accommodation. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was really good.

There was nothing really to fault. However, during our stay in the middle of June 2024, the staff said there was due to be a change of management the following week. Therefore, a point has been deducted from the overall score as it is not possible to say exactly how the accommodation will be in the future. For those less mobile, access to the rooms is via a winding staircase.

Although we arrived latish, when the person on duty was already busy, we had a warm welcome and help with various small things like how to turn on the radiator. The room was comfortable and looked lovely as we arrived and the bathroom was modern and simple to operate. The meals we had, both dinner on the first night were delicious and quickly served, and the range of choice for breakfast was good - as was the taste! Good beer and wine too!

Everything was very good and exceeded our expectations: we will go again.

Stayed for one night on a Saturday. The staff were friendly. Easy check in. Room had everything we needed. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was amazing… I didn’t want to get out! Breakfast the next morning was so tasty and big portions. Lots of tea and coffee and milk in the room which was nice to see as in some hotels they give you one of each which is useless.

Breakfast on Sunday morning was only between 8.30 and 9.30am. And check out was earlier than expected. I think I missed that in the booking process. Would have been nice to be able to stay until 11 or 12 and have breakfast running later… especially on a Sunday.

All of the staff were fantastically helpful and accommodating - from our arrival right up until our departure. The venue is a historic building which perfectly matches its past with modern features. The food was first class - we enjoyed both our evening meal and the Full English breakfast the following morning. The twin room we had was comfortable and clean.

Located a little bit out of the city centre but it was only a 10 minute walk and, therefore, a minor inconvenience but nothing more than that.

Easy to find, good parking access and an easy walk into Lancaster centre. Excellent food for both dinner & breakfast, and the staff are all lovely and helpful. Great that there's a lift for both accessibility and to get suitcases upstairs to rooms. Beds are comfortable - mattresses feel quite new.

Rooms are a little on the snug side, but that's only an issue if you have over-large luggage
