This hotel is a minute off the M6. The hotel rooms are quite large. They are well appointed, air conditioned, and good bedding. Although we did not use the facilities we noted the very good gym, pool and children’s play area. The breakfast was really great - cold meats and salad, hot foods, fruit and yogurt, breads and pastries, and a very good coffee machine. The breakfast staff were all very polite, helpful and professional - they worked extremely hard to keep tables clean and reset as well as responding to customer requests = great team.

There is a smokers area just outside the main entrance. Good idea - but how about you clean the area once in a while? This country is known and loved for the beautiful flower pots hanging outside buildings - but you hang plastic flowers = really?!

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Morning desk manager was very helpful and knowledgeable (see comments below)

The afternoon check in desk manager was not very helpful. We had booked two rooms and had confirmation from "bookings" and although the desk could see the booking, they were unable/unprepared to actually book us in until a certain confirmation was received. They said it could be a computer problem. This led to nearly a two hour wait in reception for our room allocation. One of our companions was quite ill and they needed to lie down. We offered possible solutions but all were ignored. We finally paid extra for a room so our companion could rest properly. (The morning manager later reimbursed us) The morning manager confirmed that what we had proposed the night before was actually a valid procedure and should have been implemented.

All satisfactory.

The blue badge spaces were taken by several vehicles not showing a blue badge. My elderly mother has mobility issues and has a blue badge, so it was very disappointing to find no space available to park at the hotel entrance. I mentioned it to reception. The receptionist was vaguely sympathetic but I was left with the impression she was not particularly interested. I had booked an accessible room and would have expected to be able to park next to the entrance so that my mother had no issues with walking. Although I dropped her at the door I still had to park a distance from the door and leave her in the hotel entrance. I expected better and would hope your staff would have someone looking out for disabled customers needs. After all we paid the same as able bodied customers.

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff at reception, bar, dinner and breakfast. Truly a delight. Look after them. Excellent dinner. Good quality breakfast, so much variety. Easy for taxi to pull up outside. Beautiful view from window. Huge room. Lovely toiletries in bathroom. Room kept to very high standard, cleanliness and decor.

Not their fault, but. Swimming pool unfortunately wasn’t working, I’d booked an earlier train so that I could get a swim in before dinner and potentially one the next morning. Minor attention to detail needed over cleanliness issues - I found food in the sofa.

It was very quick and easy to find from the M6. Staff were welcoming and informative. We loved the swimming pool. Breakfast was very busy but staff were very efficiently replenishing things that had run out and clearing tables as fast as they could. Breakfast was absolutely excellent- my kids loved the fresh pancakes. Extra thank you to the lovely staff member who gave me some milk and warmed it up for my daughter’s bottle.

Nothing we didn’t like but be aware you will need to book a slot to use the swimming pool and there may be a queue at breakfast on busy days.

Pool area was clean, nice sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Breakfast good choice although Friday morning better than saturday. Bathroom in room was nice and modern.

Saturday morning breakfast not as good as Friday...constantly having to ask for things to be replenished ie bowls/plates/juice/pancakes...coffee machine issues on Saturday morning and some tables are too close to things like the toasters or coffee machine so people queueing where your trying to eat. Room quite small and beds being doubles are really small in this day and age should be at least king size as standard

The staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful. I was travelling alone and they all made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The room was very big and had a comfy bed. The bathroom was clean and a great size too. Breakfast was delcious with lots of options, I went early at 7:30ish and it was really quiet and easy.

The pool was super busy when I tried to go in the evening so ended up not going. The doors to the room are quite loud and I could hear them opening and shutting throughout the night.

Staff were friendly and accommodating, however we made several calls to reception to order room service or ask questions and no one ever answered .. the rooms were great however we did find a false nail in one room and also very heavy cobwebs in another .. making us reluctant to use the very dusty air con units . Other than that we can't complain .. location was perfect just off the M6 and what stop over hosts a pool and jacuzzi? Will return if ever on the way up the road again . Thank you holiday Inn

The swimming pool was fantastic love staff very welcoming. The room I stayed in was brilliant but unfortunately it was a heavy night of rain and I could hear dripping at one point thought there was a leak in room. Comfy beds and good spacious room.

Food in restaurants some was burnt but staff did there best to sort the issues. Food overall wasn't the best. But staff was lovely. Room could here dripping and quite alot of noises in hall during the night. But otherwise room was lovely. Missing hot chocolate drink

Clean Hotel with Good Facilities We stayed around 2 days, The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. The swimming pool and other facilities are quite good and added to the overall experience. Kids enjoyed the break fast and dinner.

We had booked a room with breakfast included, but were asked to pay again for breakfast at the hotel. This was quite disappointing and caused unnecessary confusion. Hopefully, this was an issue on Booking.com’s side, but it’s something to be aware of when making a reservation.
