Staff were awesome, nothing was too much trouble. Yes, as we read in other reviews, you could hear the music from downstairs and next door but it wasn't a problem for us as we were out late anyway. Food in the bar was good - they also do a fab sharing-platter Sunday roast 😋 On the main road through town so close to shops, restaurants and fab bars. Would definitely stay again.

There were lots of stairs to the top floor where our rooms were but that meant we were further from the noise so was worth it.

This Inn was spotless ,the room was basic economy and exceeded our expectations. They told us about street noise and there was some, but not bad at all. Grade 2 listed it had character ,the staff were friendly and helpful.We didn't eat there as we were out and about both days. We would return ,it was great value for money. Thanks to booking.com for showing it to us.. that area of Lakes is very beautiful too,with lots to fo and places to see. Overall a great holiday.

I'm a country bupkin and prefer to be out of town ,but that's my preference ,in no way reflects on the accommodation as it was described very well. My friend the city dweller found it perfect and quiet!

Room was really large, clean and well equipped. Nice to have a hotel shower that actually gets you wet as well… The food at The Sun is excellent and we’ll executed - we ate there every night of our stay. They were also very accommodating and understanding of our two dogs which is important to us. The team did warn us prior to our stay that as it is a busy local venue, the music Friday and Saturday nights goes on till about 2.30am but to be fair, if you’re staying in the centre of a bustling town then you have to base your expectations on that everybody else isn’t tucked in bed by 10.30. Our dogs slept through it all anyway!

The hotel was smack in the middle of town and could not be better located. For the price I could not complain.

Because of the event I was attending the car park was shut. I expect this would not normally be an issue. The hotel literature always mentioned they are a late night venue and there will be music played until late. On the Friday this was not an issue at all and on the Saturday only a slight issue.

Probably needs a bit of updating , I arrived in the middle of the ulverston festival , it was very busy bands playing in the street I was very tired after riding across North Yorkshire and just wanted to sleep but I enjoyed it immensely, the staff were very busy but accommodating, the food was good and when I did eventually get to my bed I enjoyed a very good night's sleep even tho the bar underneath me was in full flow

In the morning when I packed my tent and stuff on my bike the road was blocked with cars , there was a gap but it had broken glass there , but a very nice gentleman ( the gardner ) whipped out a dustpan and brush and swept away the offending glass all credit to him .....the staff should have done this as I didn't mention the blocked road and broken glass

Great location, very good/low price, lovely staff, amazing breakfast with lots of options, clean room, comfy bed, hot shower. Also had a lovely beer garden. Glad we opted for this hotel, picked due to location and price and we weren’t disappointed.

Mouldy ceiling above toilet. Noisy pipes in wall (woke us up). Needs darker curtains-but that’s just personal preference.

The room was newly refurbished, very spacious and clean.

I was in the area to visit a friend and I couldn't check in till 4pm I arrived about 1pm, called in and left my bas and asked what time was the latest I could return in time for my key I was told 11pm, which I repeated and was told yes 11pm. 10.10 I was called and told that I had to be there by 10.30 for the key so has to rush off from my company, couldn't wait for my taxi and my friend had to take me back in his car. I wasn't impressed by this as I was told and had made them confirm 11pm was fine

The room was clean and tidy and staff were friendly and polite, extremely welcoming. The location is great for bars and restaurants in Ulverston. For a last minute deal and the price of the room I cannot find any fault. Keep up the good work!

The noise from the Basement Bar however please don't take this as a complaint or negative from me as I was under no illusion that it would be noisy as it is made clear on booking.com and also by the staff when you check in that it is on a Friday and Saturday For what we required it was perfect. I don't appreciate negative reviews on the Sun Inn about "noise" as it is completely made clear on this site and by staff who effectively and professionally managed my expectations. If people don't like it then stay somewhere else (not to say that you should not stay here, there is nothing wrong with it and it's on point) if you don't like noise it won't be for you on a Friday or Saturday night.

The room has plenty space, but could have done with a chair with a back on it in the room, though we solved this problem with taking one from the bar area. The room was very clean, the breakfast were filling and the staff so attentive and pleasant. The beer garden area is washed down every morning, which is good.

We were in room 17 and the bed squeaked to much, every time you moved you were getting broken sleep. And nothing to do with the Sun Inn, but the bloomin' seagulls are noisy.

Great location centre of ulveston.. Nice pub.. Staff were lovely especially Charlotte and the young man who showed us to our room..sorry didn't catch his name Room basic but clean and bed was comfy ..slept well Breastfast was well presented..extra sllice toast would have been great Def would stay again

1 slice toast at brekkie....bit mean and it was presented on top of brekkie so even if wanted slice with jam couldn't as covered in bean sauce!!! Brekkie was lovely and well presented but just little things..toast..oh and 2 chipped cups..just attention to detail.. Must mention lots stair to rooms..not issue for us ..but for someone mobility issue could be prob. And ypu could hear noise from downstairs..didnt bother us as we were so tired ...and once pub closed it was quiet Also parking on market day you cant .get into pub car park but there is one directly behind was only 6 pounds for 24 hours...
