Very easy to find, lovely location. Perfect driving distance to Windermere/Ambleside. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. We ate dinner during our stay and it was amazing. The portion sizes are brilliant and the food was tasty. The breakfast was a great addition too, nothing was too big of an ask. The bed was large and comfy, I slept like a log! Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again. Will be recommending to friends heading to The Lakes.

Great stay! Nice family run hotel with a lovely breakfast and relaxing night sleep. Due to being a Friday night that we arrived, we were also allowed late check in up to 12pm. This allowed us to do all the hiking we wished to during the day. WiFi excellent and overall, could not fault our stay at all. Thank you!

We would probably only stay here if having a private vehicle (we did), as would not want to rely on bus services. However, bus stop was right next to hotel

This Pub/hotel is on a main road, not too busy, in a country area, a good walking distance from Oxenholme. The room was well isolated from any traffic noise when the windows were closed. It was comfortable, clean with a good shower room. Breakfast was excellent and we had an evening meal which was very good and value for money. Service was good, staff and visiting locals were all very friendly.

There is nothing we did not like.

Room was clean and tidy.Bed was comfortable Shower was lovely too.We were the only guests that night so as we were at the side of the hotel in a room just off the main road the noise from the traffic was kept to a minimum.Breakfast was good and plentiful.Had a meal in the punchbowl Inn the previous night and quite large portions so definitely full after it and well priced for what we had.

Convenient location, easy to find. Staff very friendly and attentive, food excellent, very nice room. Plenty of parking, and rural setting with views over fields full of sheep.

If I have find fault it was a bit pricey - most expensive place I have stayed at - BUT it was Bank Holiday weekend, a fairly late booking, and was excellent!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was very good and the pub food was great too. The atmosphere was friendly and the pub was busy. The room was lovely and bed comfy.

The window didn't quite shut, so traffic noise was annoying at times. However we did sleep okay, so it didn't disturb us overnight.

This is a lovely comfortable old pub which has kept its cosy feel. There are only two guest rooms so you feel quite special. The bedrooms are charming, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The food is good honest pub food. Breakfast is easy and no fuss because there are only a few guests. The car parking area is right by the pub.

There's not much to dislike.

Excellently decorated room, excellent breakfast, friendly and attentive owners. Very clean. A great location. We also had an evening meal which was delicious and served efficiently and speedily. A really good find. Having previously stayed at a hotel for 4 nights and not been satisfied, I would like to take the owners of this pub to the hotel so that they can show that hotel how to do it properly 'from start to finish.'

Ease of access and good stop off point for us going north and returning the following week. Comfortable rooms and food was great too. The staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay a good one and we would definitely stay there again

Can’t think of a thing - although the weather could have been better!

Great country pub, very quiet but it was a Monday. Staff were lovely as were our meals. Room was bright and airy with a very comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom and shower. Good storage space and hospitality tray.

Situated on a very noisy road with vehicles and motorcycles racing along. Had to close the window to block the noise out somewhat.
