Spotlessly clean hotel surrounded by lovely gardens.Easy online check in Beds and pillows were very comfortable ...room was dark and warm at night.Good bathroom facilities...lovely big bath and shower with good quality toiletries.Breakfast was fabulous - we were spoilt for choice.Very professional,friendly staff at breakfast time

We knew we didn't have a garden view but what we got was a view of an grass bank that was very close to the windows which blocked out most of the natural light.Also we went for dinner at the night time.Decided to chose from the light bites as we weren't too hungry.Was unhappy to be told that chosing from this menu meant we were restricted to where we sat and was put up the corner with a table facing a hedge.The food ,however, was very tasty and cooked to perfection.

The pool was brilliant. Lovely to use. Although rules re swimming lanes a bit tricky when not sure what time you will be back at hotel. Staff were fabulous, could not do enough to help. Gym and reception staff really lovely. Breakfast delicious.

Dinner quite expensive and vegetarian options limited. Understand entirely why restaurants combine vegetarian and vegan options, But as a long term vegetarian, I really don't want fake vegan cheese, not a fan! Would love something with real cheese or without processed ingredients. But dinner staff great and chips absolutely delicious. Quite a long walk to Kendal for alternative dinner options but, to be fair, thats clear when you book.

I booked here last minute for a birthday night and babymoon. A special mention to Heather who was patient to answer all my questions. Upon arrival she had upgraded us to a suite which was beautiful and spacious with lovely views of garden. A really nice touch was the birthday card and chocolate bar left on the bed and at dinner time the chef sent out a beautiful plate saying Happy Birthday with some chocolate brownies. Bar manager also offered a free drink. We felt really looked after! It was a great feel to the day. Pool was lovely and not too busy. Buffet Breakfast was great with good quality items used all round.

Some large spider webs in restaurant and room. Ceilings are high so can be overlooked. Bed sheet and spread had stains unfortunately. We had lunch and dinner there by choice as we didn't want to leave hotel. The food was nice but a little overpriced. The white chocolate pistachio tiramisu however was absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny!

Warm and welcoming team on reception and then on to our room a beautiful executive room with views over the grounds and beyond of kendal. Beautiful bay window with the corner L shaped sofa positioned perfectly for the view. Large swivel tv and a super king bed. Coffee machine and kettle with a fridge ( complementary mineral water inside) and a good selection of hot drinks supplied. A bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a free-standing bath, great to soak away some of our aches and pains. And controllable heating with air con and radiators, which kept the room just right.

My only negative was the restaurant well it's menu which was a little scant on choice, what they had was presented well and good and hot. But the starter choice was limited and a little uninspiring. The staff were great and attentive without being overbearing. Breakfast was buffet style, good selection, and again, nice and hot , not always achieved by buffets. Although things were a little low quantity wise (bread at toaster only 2 slices left of white bread) but to be fair we where at the tail end d of service and there were still plenty of other breads. It's not a disaster, just an observation.

Junior suite was really spacious for us and 2 kids, beds were comfortable including the sofa bed. Bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast had a full English vegan and they also had oat milk, vegan butter, and staff very accommodating with this. (Vegan breakfast isn't advertised and they could make more of the fact that this is offered, it's appealing to vegetarians too!) Dinner options were limited for vegan but they did have vegan ice cream which the kids loved. Pool was lovely and had kid friendly swim times. Staff were ALL super friendly and lovely to the kids too. We would definitely stay here again.

Only one changing cubicle for the swimming pool which wasn't ideal when a big group were getting ready for a class we had to wait for ages. A couple more vegetarian/vegan dinner options would have been great

- Nice green grounds with spa & pool facilities. - Warm reception and room was ready on arrival. - Well designed room, modern decor, well maintained. We liked that there was a separate dressing table/desk to the tea&coffee making area. - Large bed with firm quality mattress and quality bed linen. - Black out roller blind and curtains, so had an excellent sleep. - Very quiet, again, this aided an excellent sleep. - Dove toiletries in easy to dispense bottles (much better than fiddly little individual bottles, and better for environment too) - Breakfast included in price, pleasant staff in restaurant and a great cooked breakfast in the morning.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. We will stay again when in Kendal. Excellent value for money.

We loved the place. In a lovely quiet area and the staff were lovely! The food for breakfast was always hot and what you would want with a nice selection! Drinks in the bar were a tad pricey I think. The rooms were comfortable and just want you would want. Only thing I would say was the furniture was just starting to look a little worn and tired but still ok. Oh and weirdly would say maybe a front door so you don’t have to walk all the way up and round to get to your rooms. But love the place and would happily return! Thank you.

Had a lovely 2 night stay. All the staff we met were amazing. Very efficient & friendly. We had a garden room with super king sized bed. Unfortunately we did not have time to use the spa facilities. Breakfast has a wide variety of choices. We dinned one night in the hotel restaurant, it was amazing!

There is limited parking at the top carpark, where reception is. I have a mobility issue, but still managed stairs from main carpark up to reception using my sticks. It was a shame that the pub on the grounds was shut Wednesday & Thursday. The staff definitely make this hotel special & worthwhile staying. Booking, Hotel very helpful when I rang to request twin beds and also room on ground floor. Arrival - warm welcome, Staff relaxed but attentive Room excellent Bar relaxing - great service! Dinner excellent

The one-price only breakfast. Fine for my husband who likes a cooked breakfast but not for me - I only eat cereal or porridge so £14+ was obviously too much to pay. But what to do? On the phone (and later at reception) they said to explain to restaurant staff who would be able to help. But when I did the server said she'd still have to charge me full price. Luckily she took pity on me so I didn't go hungry but it was awkward and embarrassing. This one thing might make me think twice about returning. Hope you can find a solution.

Room was lovely but would have preferred a room with a view over the gardens rather than a view of the back of the property. An adjustable shower head would be preferred as it was too high up for me. The staff were all lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome and cared for. Room was very clean. I would suggest more than two little sachets of milk in the room on arrival as one each is not enough for even one cup each. Food was delicious and well presented as was breakfast with a great quality and choice on offer.
