This is my second stay at Castle Green and it was a lovely stay. We had a evening meal in the Castle Green restaurant, the food was amazing and service from Shelly was fantastic! She was a lovely lady and made our stay even more enjoyable. We had breakfast both mornings which was very good. We had sandwiches at lunch which were so big and very tasty. Myself and my daughter also used the pool. Room was lovely and clean. We will definitely return in the future.

On meeting reception staff realized I was disabled and immediately took my car keys and retrieved our luggage from our car and delivered them to our ground floor room ,excellent 5 star service I thank them all,they also had a meal delivered to our room ,luxury,I'm able to swim and I was accommodated with that facility too, Breakfast was amazing as usual I say this as we stayed here many years ago and unlike most places we return to this one castle green has got an air of order training of staff,politeness,it's as good if not better well done all staff particularly theose on reception you are castle greens first impression and you knocked it out of the park WE WILL BE BACK Mr and Mrs walker 17/8/25 to 19/8/25 Room 120

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the hotel was very comfortable, the room was small but big enough for us 2. The food is the hotel was absolutely fabulous and the menu had a good choice and was very reasonably priced. The swimming pool was a nice size and access was great. All the staff were very friendly. The grounds were fantastic and we enjoyed several walks around them. Great location for access to the south lakes. We would defo go back again!

The only issue we could raise was that one of the windows in our room was stiff to open, but not enough to complain about.

Accessible with good location between motorway and the Lake District. Attractive grounds, plentiful parking, helpful staff. Spacious, clean, comfortable well-designed bedroom with good views and good bathroom with walk-in shower, as I recall (but it was an upgrade for which we paid). Good breakfast and evening meal generally good although quite expensive.

There was a wedding party with very inconsiderate guests next door to us who had an extended party in their room at about 3 am and were rude to us when we politely complained (probably should have reported them to the night porter).

Just got home from a 2 night stay for our 10th wedding anniversary, stayed in a executive suite (bed and breakfast) the suite was amazing,, set basically in its own wing in the old part of the hotel, just what we wanted, huge 4 poster bed, bathroom with bath and shower cubicle with overhead shower. Flat screen TV, sofa, fridge, air conditioning and heaters. And then there is the staff they can't do enough for you, all very pleasant and friendly, I had flowers delivered to the hotel to be put in our room for my wife, the reception staff are so helpful, emailing and messaging me back when needed. The restaurant staff were lovely, breakfast was very good, we ate in the restaurant in the evening as well, I'm a very fussy eater, if anything they might think about a few different choices for the more fussy eaters. 5 minutes drive to Kendal town centre, lovely views from the restaurant and gardens. All the ladies on reception were lovely, but a special mention for the blonde lady who was amazing as we were leaving my wife's flowers leaked all over the floor and she told us just to leave it and she would get it sorted, thank you so much for providing us with such a memorable stay.

Spotlessly clean hotel surrounded by lovely gardens.Easy online check in Beds and pillows were very comfortable ...room was dark and warm at night.Good bathroom facilities...lovely big bath and shower with good quality toiletries.Breakfast was fabulous - we were spoilt for choice.Very professional,friendly staff at breakfast time

We knew we didn't have a garden view but what we got was a view of an grass bank that was very close to the windows which blocked out most of the natural light.Also we went for dinner at the night time.Decided to chose from the light bites as we weren't too hungry.Was unhappy to be told that chosing from this menu meant we were restricted to where we sat and was put up the corner with a table facing a hedge.The food ,however, was very tasty and cooked to perfection.

this is our 3rd visit here .the first time was amazing the staff was fantastic and the location and hotel grounds are lovely. the 2nd visit wasn't as good due to a horrible restaurant manager bullying the young waitresses which we complained about to the reception staff .the way she spoke to them was disgusting and shocked us both .the reception lady genuinely seemed upset about it and offered a free room upgrade if we came back. well this is our 3rd visit and got our free room upgrade to an executive room which is stunning with views over the lovely well kept garden (room 139 ) .Sarah and Heather was great when I asked to use my free room upgrade on the phone there was even a nice welcome card with my name on when I got to my room which was a very thoughtful thing to do .we will definitely be back for our 4th visit soon as only 20 mins to bowness we're we love to go ..thanks again for another fantastic stay at this great hotel .thanks to the staff and especially Sarah and Heather.

we loved everything

Great few nights stay with my son (12yr old). Perfect location for what we needed and nice a quiet. Hotel staff were really good and always happy to help. Luckily with it being quiet, the pool was OK for us to get in and have a swim no problem. However if busy, the pool isn't the biggest. Breakfast was amazing and one of the highlights of our stay. Would defo recommend and stay there again if we travelled to Kendal.

Not something that we didn't like, but one of the rooms looking out over Kendal would have been that little bit nicer ;)

The pool was brilliant. Lovely to use. Although rules re swimming lanes a bit tricky when not sure what time you will be back at hotel. Staff were fabulous, could not do enough to help. Gym and reception staff really lovely. Breakfast delicious.

Dinner quite expensive and vegetarian options limited. Understand entirely why restaurants combine vegetarian and vegan options, But as a long term vegetarian, I really don't want fake vegan cheese, not a fan! Would love something with real cheese or without processed ingredients. But dinner staff great and chips absolutely delicious. Quite a long walk to Kendal for alternative dinner options but, to be fair, thats clear when you book.

I booked here last minute for a birthday night and babymoon. A special mention to Heather who was patient to answer all my questions. Upon arrival she had upgraded us to a suite which was beautiful and spacious with lovely views of garden. A really nice touch was the birthday card and chocolate bar left on the bed and at dinner time the chef sent out a beautiful plate saying Happy Birthday with some chocolate brownies. Bar manager also offered a free drink. We felt really looked after! It was a great feel to the day. Pool was lovely and not too busy. Buffet Breakfast was great with good quality items used all round.

Some large spider webs in restaurant and room. Ceilings are high so can be overlooked. Bed sheet and spread had stains unfortunately. We had lunch and dinner there by choice as we didn't want to leave hotel. The food was nice but a little overpriced. The white chocolate pistachio tiramisu however was absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny!
