The bar. The guys running the bar and the restaurant were very nice and friendly.

The waste bin in my room had not been emptied before my arrival. I mentioned this and it was attended to. Thereafter, it was emptied daily. The en suite is very small. The flow in the shower is one level above a trickle. When booking, I was led to believe that I would be in the Promenade room with private bathroom next to the room. This is the second time this has happened. Also in 2022. I can understand that the establishment would think that a solo female traveller would prefer to be en suite, but in this case, I should have preferred to be in the Promenade room for the reasons stated above.

The hotel room and bar areas (recently updated and modernised) had nice fresh feel. Bar area/restaurant nice design, warm and cosy feel. Excellent breakfast. Bedroom very nice and comfortable - it had everything we needed for our 1-night stay. (Colour temperature of room lighting was a little too cool). Would happily stay at this hotel on future visits to the area. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful.

No real dislikes. We enjoyed our short stay. Just one comment regarding travel directions supplied via booking.com ... The guide says leave the 'M6 at junction 35', but it didn't say this applies only when travelling Northwards on the M6. We were travelling Southwards, and should have exited at junction 36 !!

Extremely friendly. Beautiful pub. Good location for Silverdale / Windermere. Nice view. Food lovely. Service excellent. Price was great.

Parking was a little tight. There is on street parking which was a little rare also due to some machinery in front of the hotel. It isn’t a deal breaker but each morning there was some unconfident drivers having instructions shouted at them as to how to reverse in-out of spaces and a little walk should you get back to your room at a peak time. Also we are smokers, we seemed to be in the furthest highest room away from an exit which was a little tedious. I wished I had known prior to and I would have requested a more suitable room.

We had a reserved disabled parking space right by our ground floor room which had a wet room. Tony and his team were all welcoming and helpful. they all had a 'can do' attitude. We felt looked after. The bar restaurant area has been thoughtfully furnished. A very pleasant palce to be. Breakfast was a cheerful experience and staff were keen to meet our needs. Loved the little bowls of fruit salad.

Nothing would stop us coming back BUT if you have mobility challenges you need to know that there is a slope down to the main building from the room which is adapted so that could be a challenge and a couple of steps to the toilets in the main area. However, staff are happy to help.

We’ve stayed here many times, mostly for the location and the fact there are dog friendly rooms, however it has been in need of a refresh for years, particularly in the bar area, which was done last year and it makes a tremendous difference, so much more welcoming and better use of space (bedrooms still need a revamp and refresh though). New staff in the bar and restaurant too, smarter looking and more efficient. Miguel seemed to be in charge and the service was great, as was the food.

This place has needed some love for a very long time so good to see that happening, however the beer garden which should be magnificent given the views, was scruffy and did not attract people in, unlike the Albion down the road, so weed it, sweep it, trim the hedges and open up the hut. Great place and great promise, just needs a bit more work ❤️❤️❤️

Room had fantastic views, from both windows. It was clean, looked nice and had plenty of towels, reasonable hospitality tray, tissues, bathroom glasses, toiletries. I was given, at my request, a quiet room at the top of the building. Staff very friendly. Prompt service at breakfast, which was tasty, just not quite hot enough for me but not bad enough to complain at the time. It was well presented and service was very efficient. Evening meal was again tasty, well presented and served with a smile from pleasant staff. Almost too much food on the plate to be honest! Being able to park on site was a bonus

The room had many pluses. Unfortunately on one of the hottest days of the year, it felt like I was in a sauna. The building got hotter the higher up you got. However, the fan provided offered some welcome breeze and was already in the room so I didn't have to ask for one - thank you. The main gripe is the the bed, it was not comfortable at all. I got hardly any sleep and it was made worse by the guest in the next door room, who left their room at 5.44am and let the door bang- not your fault I know, but not very soundproof. A minor thing, not sure why a big container of tissues is stuck on the bedside table, gets in the way and the shower tray sealant needs replacing.

My wife and I stayed in the estuary room, which had superb views. We arrived a few hours early, as we walked into the bar we were greeted by the owner Jeanette, i apologised for being early and arriving before our room was ready, in fact we arrived before the outgoing guest had checked out..but we wanted to park up and go for a walk around the Knott. she made us feel very welcome and even made us a pot of tea.. we had a long conversation and it felt like we had known each other for years... The staff were amazing and the whole property was very clean. We had our evening meal there which was perfect, so was our breakfast the following morning. Thank you Tony and Jeanette, we had a fabulous stay.

Tony, the manager, made me feel extremely welcome from the moment I walked through the door. I didn't feel so much as though I was staying in hotel, but rather I was staying with old friends! The pub itself is full of charm and character, and has that real, authentic English pub feel which made me feel right at home. Both my evening meal and breakfast were of an excellent standard and thoroughly enjoyable, with friendly service. The whole place had a great atmosphere - very relaxed which was exactly what I was hoping for. The location is spot on and Arnside is a wonderful village to lay-over for a night or two. I was reluctant to leave in the morning and could quite happily have stayed another night (maybe next time I will!). The room itself, whilst fairly basic in keeping with the price, was clean, tidy and had everything I needed for a comfortable night including a fan which was very welcomed, as it was quite warm! Tony helped me out with a great spot to park my motorcycle safely for the night as well. I think it's fair to say that Tony and his team really made the stay for me!

The only bit I didn't like was having to leave in the morning!!

The pub is in a fabulous location, overlooking Morecambe Bay, close to local shops and a perfect place to stay before the Cross Bay Walk. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We loved the bar area and the delicious food, both for breakfast and our evening meal.

The bedroom was dated although the bed was very comfortable and we had what we needed in our room, a fabulous dual aspect view in Whitecreek. The bathroom and hall area was very tired and is in need of renovation, however this did not detract from a great stay.

The location is great- so near the estuary with great views. All the staff were friendly and really eager to assist. The cheese and onion pie on the main menu is lovely, and there are meal deals at lunchtime. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Lots of contact with the staff prior to arrival, e.g, with directions. The train to Grange over Sands is a wonderful trip, and the station at Arnside is 10 mins away. There is a general store very near the pub plus cafes etc. There is a vegetarian breakfast available as standard. We will definitely return. It's a wonderful place.

The evening meal menu had only 2 veggie mains and ALL the 6 or so specials on the Thursday night were meat dishes, which excluded vegetarians and seemed unbalanced as there were plenty of meat dishes on the main menu already. More veggie dishes would be lovely 😍. Nothing else to fault 😋.
