Everything was beautiful from the day we got here, the host had upgraded our stay as we were the only booking . We were very grateful. The breakfast was lovely and the host was very helpful in where to go for our days out. cannot express how much we loved our stay here and will return for future stays. We would highly recommend anyone who is visiting to stay here it's close to the lakes and the villages nearby.

There is nothing we didn't like.

Everything about our stay was amazing!! The room we were in was just beautiful inside and out. The bed and bedding was so comfortable and I had a great night sleep. The hosts were increadibly helpful (including Lennon!).. Breakfast was amazing!! I had sourdough with Avocado and I honestly could eat it everyday! This was honestly one of the best places I have been to. Thank you so much!! X

This is the best B&B we've ever stayed in. What a gem. Superb location for the Southern Lakes. Incredibly kind, generous and friendly hosts. Spotlessly clean and such a comfy bed! The warm welcome with tea and cake after a long journey was fabulous. Best ever breakfast with so much choice, with locally sourced sausages and bacon. Beautiful character home. Really felt like home from home. Can't wait to return. (And they've just completed the most stunning self catering apartment too - check it out!) Huge thanks to Sam and Ian.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Good off road parking,we often travel with car trailer and am sure this wouldn't have been a problem either. . Clean comfortable en suite room. Great breakfast with some flexibility offered on the time to suit our pressing schedule. Warm welcome from attentive hosts. Nice touches like welcome flapjacks and glass of wine. Pretty garden to sit out in. Quiet picturesque location.

Difficult finding somewhere local to eat out on Sunday eve although don't envisage a problem any other day of the week. Unsure why tea coffee milk etc not provided, had to ask if they were needed. Neither issue would prevent us staying again

Sam and Ian have a beautiful home in the south lakes. Their hospitality was incredible, from the home baked treats on arrival to the fantastic breakfasts each morning, and the walking recommendations. Sam and Ian are friendly and welcoming hosts and we had a fantastic stay. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely breakfast, that we were able to choose the night before for a menu. We tried full English, avocado and bacon and maple pancakes over our stay. All were lovely. Also there was a lovely continental selection too. We were greeted with fresh cakes and a glass of wine. We couldn’t check in at the specified time, but nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. They also gave us lots of tips on local places to eat, walks and taxi numbers. It was a lovely relaxing stay.

it’s in a great location, lovely views all around, away from the hustle and bustle. A lovely chilled glass of wine and flapjack on arrival. we were greeted warmly by Sam & John, Room was spacious. They also gave great recommendations on the best places to eat.

the only downside was been unable to get a taxi at night, so if you require a taxi boom in advance.

Sam was a delight from start to finish. The room was bright and comfortable. Breakfast was a real standout, restaurant quality in such an inviting atmosphere

We didn't know how to turn on the heat in the bathroom. We didn't ask though so could have easily been resolved.

From the warm welcome to the amazing breakfast, everything was top class and perfect. Sam and Ian were fabulous hosts and nothing was to much trouble. All the food provided was either locally sourced or homemade. The selection for breakfast was out standing. Spotlessly clean everywhere, very high quality linen and toiletries. We had stayed in three different B&Bs before Ellenboro House on our trip around cumbria. This was far the more superior accommodation. We decided to stay an extra two nights and booked into there new built apartment. We were spoilt rotten by the Luxery, from the under lighting from the bath and the touch control on the mirror. Even the loo roll smelt amazing. A bathroom I'd compare to any 5 star establishment we have stayed in. We were so impressed by the finish of the whole apartment. The huge bed was so so comfortable, we slept like babies, which we haven't for a long time. Pillows were like clouds. There is a lovey seating area outside to have your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. For the chilly nights there were throws provided to get cosy in. If you are a dog lover as we both are you will love meeting there new canine friend called Lennon. A friendly happy chap who loved having a fuss. An idyllic get away of which we will be booking again as soon as we can.

Ellenboro House B&B is a delightful gem at the southern end of the Lake District. Sam and Ian are some of the kindest and most helpful hosts we have ever had in our travels. When we arrived, they made us welcome and encouraged us to relax in their beautiful garden. I felt that I had a head cold and scratchy throat coming on. they recommended a local pharmacy. When we tested for Covid, my test was positive and my wife’s was negative. They were very understanding and made special arrangements to make us comfortable but still follow careful Covid guidelines. What could have been a nightmare became a restful isolation that we will remember gratefully. The room was very comfortable and the view out onto the garden was beautiful. The hosts gave us a large number of breakfast options, which they prepared fresh for us each morning. Sam added her own special touches to the breakfasts and mid-afternoon snacks from the local area. Ian was always ready to help in any way.
