Good cooked breakfast provided every morning. My room and ensuite shower room were well equipped and everything worked. Free off-road parking. Books and maps provided for deciding on my hikes.

I prefer a somewhat harder bed to sleep on, but the one I had served its purpose!

I loved its old world charm, it was quite charming and comfortable and in a great location. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and breakfast was lovely.

I did find the bed too hard for my liking , but this is very personal opinion and don’t want to judge our wonderful stay.

Nowhere to sit outside in the garden, a table and chairs would benefit the place and there was plenty of space to accommodate such. Would have been nice to have tea & coffee on offer in the lounge area or to take outside . The windows in the bedroom were a little difficult to open having secondary glazing but they did open.

Absolutely delicious breakfast and plenty of options. The location is good, but really depends what you want to see in the lake district as it is quite large. The town has one great pub which we ate at both nights and enjoyed. If you want more dinner options you would need to drive. Linda and Steve were very welcoming and gracious hosts. The decor is very traditional english, which we liked. Very clean and spacious rooms.

Perhaps a TV in the room, however understandably this probably wouldn't suit the decor or 'romantic weekend away' feel of the property. We honestly had a great stay and there's nothing we didn't like!

Everything from the decor to the amazing hearty breakfasts. Super comfy beds, beautiful smelling toiletries. Wonderful hosts. We loved it.

Having to leave!!!! We will be back before the year is out.

Great hosts and easy access to coniston and the south lakes. Close to grizedale forest for mountain biking or walking trails. Nice breakfast 🍳

All was good.

Beautifully restored cottage with many original features. Very clean, quiet, comfortable, lovely room, very hot water and excellent shower. Steve made me very welcome. Really enjoyed my stay and hope to return. Lovely countryside with views to the Coniston fells. Excellent pub and cafe a few minutes walk down the road.

The owners were absolutely lovely, very accommodating, and polite. The room was very clean and the facilities too. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of variety.
