Staff were lovely and the building is perfect for a countryside stay.

The food was overpriced and poor. I had a burger that was £20 that I'm pretty sure it had been microwaved from frozen.

Room was excellent,both clean and comfortable

I came to the Swan hotel and Spa from the south of England where the cost of living is considered to be the most expensive cost of living areas to live in. The areas around the Lake Windermere quite surprised me as to the general cost of essential items. Parking, even for Blue Badge holders was very expensive and general items such as a cup of coffee in some outlets were double what one would expect ro pay in a motorway rest area. I feel that if prices continue to rise, it may Kill the Goose that lays the Golden Egg so to speak. All said we had lovely time and glad i went.

Location is great. Easy to find. Good parking. Great food. Great cooked breakfast choices. Amazing team working there particularly in restaurant/pub. Friendly, warm, attentive and naturally care about customers. Amazing facial with Jodie at the Spa. Not pushed into product buying like lots of spas and took time to make you feel 100% relaxed. Be back even just for that again.

Aircon was not working in room and couldn’t open windows as ground floor and sign saying too many midgies. Fan left was filthy and gave little respite. Room was not cleaned in corners where there was build up of dog hair dust and spiders. The room was on a main corridor walkthrough so was noisy. Many flies in bar area particularly in seating area at side of restaurant. Then saw some on the continental food items left out for breakfast. Some of seating is lovely but now old and stained and very dirty. Feels like the hotel just needs a really good deep clean and then start again.

The room was amazing, bed super comfy, very clean, gorgeous decor Spa was fab Loads to do and great facilities Excellent location So many things to do in newby bridge - we are already planning our return trip

The food - so overpriced and just not good. Breakfast also not great, I’m gluten free and the gluten free options were limited but also gf bread was cheap and nasty when there are so many more good options you can now get Staff in the spa were unhelpful when I lost my AirPods having left them in the pocket of a robe - I’ve now located them myself using ‘find my’ however there was no offer to call the dry cleaners they had ended up at which I found very frustrating

Location, staff, food were all great. Facilities in the spa were definitely an improvement over the pool available to all. Overall it was a great.

We found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable.

I’ve stayed many times here over the years and I’m always happy with the location and overall atmosphere of the hotel.

Thought the reception staff were unwelcoming … and my Breakfast ( scrambled eggs) were disgraceful.

The location was the main reason for choosing this hotel.

The window in the room, hit my head a couple of times,on the ceiling because of the shape of the window.

Superb location, great for exploring the beautiful Lake District. Fantastic spa, leisure pool and gym. Comfortable rooms, tastefully decorated. Really friendly staff. Excellent restaurant.

This was our third visit to The Swan, didn’t find our room up to its usual very high standard. Minor issues - bedside lamp not working (and very dusty), minibar fridge also not working and a flickering light needing repair, also dirty grout in shower. Teabags were not replenished and luxury biscuits have been replaced by much cheaper ones. We had two excellent evening meals in the restaurant with very good service and enjoyed our breakfasts but were disappointed to be asked to pay extra for fruit granola.

Lovely hotel and the food was delicious

Our room hadn’t been cleaned properly with a pair of boxer shorts, a cigarette lighter and a child’s sock under the sofas and pouffe.. ! Also there were spots of blood on the shower mat! when we complained we were assured the items would be removed but when we came back to the room later the sock was in the middle of the floor and the lighter in the same place! Not great for the amount we paid to stay in the ‘Fabulous Loft Suite’ nothing fabulous about the said items..!

Air con wasn’t working in one of our rooms. The bed in the accessible room was very high so not accessible for someone disabled, however the bathroom was massive and had grip bars and plenty of room for a wheelchair
