The breakfast was nice, but the first morning I had to ask for butter & glasses for the juice and milk wasn't put on the table and we used the milk for the cereal. Also the coffee wasn't enough for 2 cups so had to ask for more. The 2nd day the vegetarian breakfast came without the mushroom that was included the first morning and the plate looked a bit sparse. We were also asked how we would like our egg's', but only one egg was on the plate. The menu also said egg's'.

The reception wasn't great by the bar staff. He left us at the bar for quite a while while he looked for our booking. Maybe if we were asked if we would like to order a drink in the time we waited, this would have been better.

I thought that the camping pods we stayed in were above what we expected as they had their own water supply, shower and toilet cubicle so you didn’t have to walk across a campsite at 2am to use the loo because it was in its own separate washroom area in the cabin. The shower was good and towel rail heated up quickly. Staff were very informative and friendly throughout our stay. I’d also like to mention that we thought the food was excellent, fresh and local produce cooked very well. I highly recommend staying here either b&b, camping or caravan and finding out for yourself how lovely this place is. Thanks for a great stay.

The property was clean and finished to a good standard. The location is excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food in the pub is amazing and the deli is a lovely addition.

When in the property it often felt like there wasn’t much privacy as the windows face a busy car park and road. Perhaps curtains that let light through as opposed to thick ones would be good for the daytime. The smoke alarm was overly sensitive and went off very quickly every time we used the toaster. Also it is worth saying that whenever the hot tub was used in the property upstairs water drips constantly down into the back area of the property. Not a problem for us as we weren’t sitting outside but would definitely be an issue if you were using the bench in the back outside area.

Torver is one of those legendary place-names in the Lakes, so it’s great to find a very reasonably priced pub with rooms there. Welcoming and efficient staff, smart en-suite great value room, loads of parking, good food, big garden out back and seats out front to watch world go by. All manner of walks nearby - on account of extreme heat and dodgy ankle I forewent the big Coniston fells behind the hotel, and did down to lake and back before dinner, then Torver back common (via mill bridge bridlepath) to watch sunset, and beacon fell and tarn (great swim) in the morning. A very enjoyable stay, thanks!

Nothing, a great find!

Lovely venue, really friendly staff and the food was great. We had a roast on the weekend and breakfast buns on a couple of mornings which were amazing. Both of us are veggie too and the options were great. The cottage was lovely. Very warm too with the additional option of the log burner. Location was a short walk from some incredible walks/hikes too.

Minor point but the hot tub was overlooked by the balcony above. Some privacy screens or drapes would have been nice. TV had Freeview only and ports weren't accessible. We wanted to watch a movie one evening after a hike and it would have been a nice touch to be able to plug a fire stick in the TV or if the TV was smart. These are really minor points and wouldn't put us off staying there again.

The staff especially Emma couldn't do anything more for you. I got stung / bit on the first night causing my finger to swell and Emma got a tin of insect repellant to spray around the room.

The second morning, whoever set the tables for breakfast omitted to put out glasses for the juice, salt and pepper, along with thd correct cutlery so staff where being asked by several guests to get the items when needed causing the serving of breakfasts to be delayed - ours took 30 minutes and was cautious of being out of the room by 10am.

It was a fab place to stay. Loved the apartment, loved the balcony and the hot tub, perfect for a couple, and we will almost definitely return.

We didn’t really like the bed. I’m really sorry, this is purely personal preference, but just hoping to give useful feedback. But it was 2 singles pushed together rather than a king size, so we could feel the gap in the middle despite the mattress topper. Also, the bed was just too soft. I sleep on my stomach, and the bed was so soft that my back was very bent while sleeping, which gave me a sore back the next day.

We stayed in both a shepherds hut and cottage and both were lovely very clean, well equipped and cosy. Very close to the pub so perfect for an evening meal/drink and very quiet and scenic

On the Sunday morning quite early a kids party with loud music and bouncy castles was set up outside the Sheperds Hut. While we were already awake, we were not told about it and it could have potentially woke us up. We felt we were unable to relax or sit outside while there was a kids party in front of us.

Our stay here was a true delight. It was our base for the Lakeland 100 race and it turned out to be the perfect spot. Accommodation and food were first class and reasonably priced. Everyone who worked there was courteous and a pleasure to chat with. They had time for everyone and were interested in why you were visiting. Oh and after running the 100 mile race that bed was just right. Pure comfort. We would certainly consider a return visit.

Nothing to dislike here.

Great location was just what we were looking for. The shepherds hut was very cute, it had a great kitchen and the underfloor heating kept it very cosy.

It took us about 45mins to check in as there was a bit of a queue for the bar and only one staff member taking orders for the food, drinks and checking people in. Felt a bit bad for the worker, it seemed very understaffed. We then ordered food from the bar and it took another hour and a half for it to come… the food was great however. I would still recommend, but just be prepared it’s not a self check in and could take a bit to get yourself into your accommodation.
