Situated right in the centre of Hawkshead, this is a great place to stay when visiting! I stayed in one of the suites with my daughter and the room was perfect for what we needed - it felt really spacious. The rooms were well equipped with tea and coffee, decent hairdryer, lovely toiletries and a nice big tv. Breakfast was included with our booking; there was a diverse menu, i had something different every morning and was never disappointed. Hawkshead itself is a great little place with food and drink options as well as opportunities for lots of walking.

I think some areas in our room could have been a little cleaner, I could see cobwebs on the ceiling and the area behind our bath needed a good dust.

Everything was brilliant. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The young man downstairs was an asset to the company. Didn't catch his name, sorry. The room was clean and very good value for money. Very clean bed linen and plenty of towels. The copper bath accompanied with the 2 free bottles of prosecco was a very welcome treat!! The room was modern and very comfortable, and the bed was super comfortable. The room was warm (it was 22°c and sunny outside), but the fan kept up cool through the night, so considering the outside temperature, it wasn't bad at all. The breakfast was awesome - very tasty! Would 100% recommend!

Great, friendly, very helpful staff. Terrific location in Hawkshead. Close to walks and attractions but quiet.Lovely, village view from windows . Excellent provision of good coffee, tea , and water. Beautiful towels and quality toiletries. Very comfortable bed.We loved our stay at the Hive. Our room was small as expected( it was very inexpensive). If you want more room, there are others to choose from. We didn't have breakfast, but we loved our suppers at Poppi-Red as the staff were so personable, and the pizza, salad, and the soup were sensational! We totally enjoyed our stay at The Hive at Poppi - Red. Next time we visit The Lakes District, we will stay there again.

Loved self check in and out it was so easy. Small room but had everything you needed and right in the middle of hawkshead. Pub across the road was great for food ..didn't eat on site so cannot comment but the restaurant looked great. Excellent value for money.our second stay and we will definitely be back.

No car parking but very big public car park at the side of the hotel . 8.50 for 24 hours. Couldn't get coffee maker to get hot so would have liked some ordinary coffee sachets. Little laminate card for the coffee maker would be good.

Everything. Check in was super easy! - the key pad was a code that is sent to your phone. So no loosing key cards etc The room was stunning! - we did not expect such high quality for the price we paid. The furniture was gorgeous, the room had a large sofa with a view of Hawkshead village, a vanity unit with ample lighting and a large comfy bed. The food was even better! I think I had the BEST breakfast I've had in a long time at Poppi-Red. We are disappointed we didn't get a chance to eat in the restaurant (due to other plans) however we will do this next time as we will definitely be back. The village is lovely and Coniston is only a 15 minute drive if you fancy a swim!

Fantastic location in the heart of this beautiful village . Fab place to base yourself for travelling the Lakes. The Hive at Poppi Red is a lovely quirky place with tasteful modern decor . Easy check in & easy to locate with parking around the corner . Staff in the restaurant were amazing and so was the food . Would definitely recommend a stay here !!!

Nothing not to like . Didn’t bother us but be aware if on the 3rd floor with luggage there isn’t a lift .

What a find!! In such a beautiful location too. We had a warm welcome and entering the room with key pad explained well, the room was a little bijou but perfectly formed. The decor was so pretty and great comfortable beds and pillows, such a bonus when traveling. It was very well equipped with a great coffee machine, plenty of milk, tea bags etc. The shower room was again small but lovely, great shower, fluffy towels toiletries great smelling. Enough hanging space and storage for a couple of days, on the tight side if staying longer. The bar and restaurant down stairs were delightful good pizzas, good service too. Although a restaurant below our bedroom we were not disturbed by any noise. Would definitely stay again !!

The only small negative is there is no outside parking, which they cannot change. Parked outside to off load the suitcase and husband then parked a three minute walk away in the car park. Which in the scheme of things is no game changer.

Lovely location, hearty breakfasts, delicious homemade cakes, dog friendly, beautifully decorated dining areas and very friendly staff. Welcome Prosecco for the room was a lovely touch, thank you. Enjoyed a delicious evening meal at the nearby Red Lion pub in the village.

Would have loved a sky light window in the deluxe suite loft bedroom (Goosey Foot Tarn) as it got very hot (even in February) and made it feel a little claustrophobic for me only having windows downstairs. The local car park is expensive; which is unfair on the businesses in the area and we factored the cost into our stay.

Nice small double bed in my single room Shampoo/shower gel in Ensuite Clean room with towels Fab tea /coffee facilities including a tassimo 10% off bistro food - no menu in room so didn’t see options or cost Didn’t have breakfast as was an extra £15 and I was out early so not needed this time Pubs close by, but lovely seating area outside the bistro where you can eat and have a drink Would stay again 🛌

Parking - I booked here as i was looking for a low cost stay inc parking , it stated the car park was free from 6pm-9am on the booking info however it is now a 24 hour charge at £8.50. There were no other options for parking in the village so I had to pay. Had one of the cakes from the bistro at just under £4 it was a small slice and sadly didn’t taste like lemon or passionfruit and was a bit dry. The church bells do ring into the night so if you are light sleeper bring ear plugs!

Super little hotel. Very friendly staff. Great restaurant and food. Very pleased that they catered very well for a gluten free diet !! Over the road is a small brewery that sold various gluten free beers / lagers ! Very friendly bar !

Our room had everything that we needed. Very comfortable bed. Excellent cleanliness. Couldn’t hear any noise from the village road. Bathroom in our room was extremely tight and compact ! But we managed okay For the price , we thought it was exceptionally good value and would stay again. Maybe in a room with a bigger bathroom !
