Loved self check in and out it was so easy. Small room but had everything you needed and right in the middle of hawkshead. Pub across the road was great for food ..didn't eat on site so cannot comment but the restaurant looked great. Excellent value for money.our second stay and we will definitely be back.

No car parking but very big public car park at the side of the hotel . 8.50 for 24 hours. Couldn't get coffee maker to get hot so would have liked some ordinary coffee sachets. Little laminate card for the coffee maker would be good.

What a find!! In such a beautiful location too. We had a warm welcome and entering the room with key pad explained well, the room was a little bijou but perfectly formed. The decor was so pretty and great comfortable beds and pillows, such a bonus when traveling. It was very well equipped with a great coffee machine, plenty of milk, tea bags etc. The shower room was again small but lovely, great shower, fluffy towels toiletries great smelling. Enough hanging space and storage for a couple of days, on the tight side if staying longer. The bar and restaurant down stairs were delightful good pizzas, good service too. Although a restaurant below our bedroom we were not disturbed by any noise. Would definitely stay again !!

The only small negative is there is no outside parking, which they cannot change. Parked outside to off load the suitcase and husband then parked a three minute walk away in the car park. Which in the scheme of things is no game changer.

Lovely location, hearty breakfasts, delicious homemade cakes, dog friendly, beautifully decorated dining areas and very friendly staff. Welcome Prosecco for the room was a lovely touch, thank you. Enjoyed a delicious evening meal at the nearby Red Lion pub in the village.

Would have loved a sky light window in the deluxe suite loft bedroom (Goosey Foot Tarn) as it got very hot (even in February) and made it feel a little claustrophobic for me only having windows downstairs. The local car park is expensive; which is unfair on the businesses in the area and we factored the cost into our stay.

We had such an amazing stay at The Hive at Poppi-Red! The room was beautiful, really nicely decorated and felt so homely. Everything was very clean, and the bed was really comfy. Our dog absolutely loved it as well, it was his first holiday and he was so comfortable which says a lot about the accommodation! There was a great coffee machine and tea making facilities in the room. The bathroom was quite small but perfectly clean with a lovely shower. The check in/out process is so easy and the access to your room is very private, we actually didn’t have any contact with the staff at all but there were just downstairs in the cafe/bar if we needed anything :)

The only downside was no air con as it was very warm weather when we were staying! However I wouldn’t really expect air con in a smaller hotel/B&B so it’s not a complaint just something to be aware of for the summer months!

Helpful staff carried my bags up. Nice small double bed in my single room Shampoo/shower gel in Ensuite Clean room with towels Fab tea /coffee facilities including a tassimo 10% off bistro food - no menu in room so didn’t see options or cost Didn’t have breakfast as was an extra £15 and I was out early so not needed this time Pubs close by, but lovely seating area outside the bistro where you can eat and have a drink Would stay again 🛌

Parking - I booked here as i was looking for a low cost stay inc parking , it stated the car park was free from 6pm-9am on the booking info however it is now a 24 hour charge at £8.50. There were no other options for parking in the village so I had to pay. Had one of the cakes from the bistro at just under £4 it was a small slice and sadly didn’t taste like lemon or passionfruit and was a bit dry. The church bells do ring into the night so if you are light sleeper bring ear plugs!

we must admit after nearly 30years of going to and staying at hawkshead this will probably be the last everything just seems to of got so expensive which is probably why there's doesn't seem to be as many people visiting also the extortionate parking charges which even apply to the local residents surely if your staying in one of the establishment there should be a concession on the parking charge I believe unless someone steps up and says enoughs enough hawkshead will be come another forgotten place which would be a travesty because its such a beautiful place with so many wonderful happy memories this is just are opinion we would love to know what others think

1. It is cute, clean, cosy. 2. My room was small but cosy, clean & warm (Room Cubby Tarn). 3. Room had tea/ coffee facilities. 4. All the staff were polite and with humour. 5. The breakfast was great as was the evening meal. 6. Location to explore foot or car other areas around the Lakes. 7. A sweet little place, both Poppi-Red and the village.

1. It said "room with a mountain view" but all I could see was the shabby back yard 🤣. So be mindful as Cubby Tarn does not have such a view. 2. £9 for a glass of red!

Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was superb all three days. Evening meal was fabulous. Room was cosy, we struggled to find a place for our luggage. Bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful.

The room service was sporadic, 1st day bed was tidied but not made. Bins weren't emptied. Coffee pods weren't replenished. 2nd day bed made, bins not emptied, coffee replenished. 3rd day bed made, bins not emptied and refreshments not replenished. The mugs weren't washed or changed at all during our stay. Not really a problem but if the room isn't going to be properly serviced I'd rather staff didn't come into the room

The photos on the site don’t do this property justice. It is such a lovely place to stay. I was travelling alone with my little dog and the room I was allocated was so nice, well equipped and very clean - the shower was huge. It is set right in the centre of Hawkshead with 2 pubs and a micro brewery across the road. The hotel is also a bistro and I ate my evening meal there - it was delicious as was the breakfast the following morning. I would highly recommend this property . The staff were friendly, food delicious and Hawkshead is so quaint and pretty. I will definitely return.

Beautiful hotel with great facilities and also dog friendly. Food was great and check in was easy. The village is also really nice. Nice to have a coffee maker in the room to.

The guy that checked me in asked for my booking details and then proceeded to take my phone out my hand and scroll through my personal emails without asking. I was pretty shocked. His entire demeanor from showing me to my room and asking me if I wanted dinner was miserable and dismissive. I tried to be friendly but it made me feel like there was something personaly about me he didn't like. The only thorn in an otherwise perfect stay.
