The property and location are amazing , breathtaking views over the lake , staff are nice and very helpful

It would be nice for the housekeeping to put the complimentary water in the room once they are done from the cleaning ,we had to call the reception everyday to send us water to the room , and sometimes the reception say it is extra charge to bring more than 2 bottles which I find it not acceptable !

Beautiful position. Excellent quality hotel. Well appointed and architecture and decoration and execution excellent.

Property lovely. Dinner disappointing - a most pretentious over the top slowly produced meal. Tasteless tartare, tiny over “fussed about” duck starter. Vegetables came after we had finished the food !!! Hopeless self indulgence by the chef. Staff polite and helpful and apologetic.

View was outstanding, food was exceptional, location superb staff were extremely friendly restaurant staff were excellent

Room had cobwebs on the coving staff did remove for us when we requested, weather was really bad for 2 days, no where to dry soaking wet clothes, heating did not work even after asking staff how to use it so we were a little cold for 2 evenings of our stay, not enough parking some days staff cars took all of the parking spaces near the boathouse area. No doormat outside to wipe the path grit off of our feet we were not comfortable wiping our feet on the carpet area and it looked a mess in the corridor.

Stunning property in a beautiful lakeside location

Some staff members were exceptional, others not great and really let down the service levels. Need more consistency for a 5* hotel

It was evident that some staff really enjoy their job - as they were very friendly, yet professional and accommodating. The room was beyond beautiful and comfortable and it was nice to have the amenities of a smart TV. The room had a lovely balcony and a very nice view of the gardens and lake. The evening meal and breakfast were beyond delicious - absolutely excellent. And although it was very cold, getting a dip in the lake was definitely memorable.

There were times were due to the presumptuousness of other guests we were made to feel ignored and 'less than' other guests by staff - being made to wait for an unexplained amount of time to check out or when another guest was addressed before us even though my husband and I were waiting for longer. I also felt the check-in process was a bit confusing and unexplained. There were many guests arriving around 3PM as indicated for check-in however the entrance did not accommodate for this many people - leaving the area very crowded and then without explanation being ushered into another room to wait as our room was not yet ready. I feel this process could be improved, however the complementary drinks were an lovely unexpected welcome!

Beautiful location. The hotel is stunning. The special arrival with champagne was lovely as was the tour of the hotel with an interesting potted history given by our lovely host (sorry forgot the name) and the snack selection available on the landings/hallways was great- I hope in the months to come, these special extras that help to set the hotel apart from others, won’t disappear if the hotel is looking to tighten the profit margins. The mini cinema is another unique feature and whilst we didn’t use it, we certainly would do, visiting with family in the future. We enjoyed some ice cream in our room though with a movie on the TV! Couldn’t fault the staff- without exception they were genuinely friendly, chatty, attentive and warm.

Only minor “tweaks” No mirror in the room (27) for dressing/hair styling purposes The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was poorly located making it difficult to use. The toilet had a poor flush. The view from the side window of our room overlooked some generators/kitchen operation area- can’t be helped but a bit disappointing. Whilst we appreciate that this is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location- £290 is a lot to pay for a few hours in a room and breakfast but we know the prices are comparable to other similar hotels we stay in e.g Winander Club at Low Wood Bay, Langdale Hotel and Spa etc.

Contemporary meets country in this grade two listed building. Upon entering the hall you are greeted with a galleried landing overlooked by a Victorian stained glass roof panel. Rooms are spacious and our standard room had the benefit of balcony overlooking the terrace and lake, our bathroom had the benefit of a walk-in shower. Service is first class and food is delicious.

Everything about this hotel is spectacular. From its stunning location at the edge of Lake Windermere, to its gorgeously decorated rooms, terraces, bathrooms, hallways, etc., to its friendly professional staff, its excellent hot and/or cold buffet breakfast, there was nothing left to chance. Our Lakehouse room was a short walk away from the main house, with a massive terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens and with an uninterrupted view of Lake Windermere. So peaceful. So gorgeous. All of it.

I recently stayed at Langdale Chase in Windermere and it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, right on the lake with breathtaking views, making it an ideal getaway. The setting and scenery are truly special. The food was very good and the atmosphere made every meal even more enjoyable. The staff were excellent throughout my stay. I had an issue during my visit, which I reported, and they handled it promptly and professionally. When I needed to get to the train station but there was a traffic jam, the hotel arranged for me to go in their own car, which was incredibly thoughtful. I also booked a boat trip through the hotel, and the team who took us out were very friendly and welcoming. They made the trip on the lake especially enjoyable.

This hotel location is amazing - our lake house room, with balcony was wonderfully serene. Lovely big bathroom with great products. Really nice sitting area to watch the world go by. Our dinner on the first night was really good. We ate out the rest of our stay. Breakfast was also good. I loved the fresh mini cakes left in the room each day - and the little bottles of fresh milk were a welcome addition.

The staff are really friendly and helpul, but they need more of them. We had to wait 15 mins to get to our room and after a long journey I just wanted to settle. Breakfast service was really slow. The staff look frazzled so breakfast was not a relaxed affair. Our room's tea and milk were not refreshed automatically. The promised turn down service never happened.
