Everywhere in the hotel was very clean and decorated very nicely. The food was lovely. The afternoon tea was outstanding. The bedroom was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was exceptionally dog friendly. The grounds were lovely. Overall, a nice hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.
The food was really good throughout our stay, but a little on the expensive side. We had a rubbish view of the car park from our room, but it was a lovely room regardless. The lounge and bar had absolutely no atmosphere at all and was so quiet, but I don't know what the hotel could do to improve this? Maybe have more ambient lighting and lamps of an evening with a couple of log fires, rather than just the same bright lighting?

The weather was unbelievable for March. The location close to Ambleside was perfect. The rooms were modern and spacious with good tea facilities and toiletries and great shower and bath. The room was very clean and regularly serviced and the bed was large and comfortable. The £25 rate per stay for a dog was very good (often the charge elsewhere is per night) and they provided a doggy welcome pack. Dogs are allowed in most areas except for the main dining area. The room was very quiet and had plenty of storage. Breakfast was a highlight. Plenty of parking.
Dining in was a limited menu and my wife's steak was too tough but staff did take feedback well and didn't charge for the steak. In the room i would have liked a bigger sink. WiFi was out for 2 days but that might have been a problem effecting the area.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Excellent value for money. Our quiet room had recently been refurbished ( room 24) and was spotlessly clean. Comfy beds, loads of storage, plentiful tea and coffee facilities. A large, spotlessly clean bathroom with, huge fluffy bath sheets, a range of complimentary comfort items, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, soap, shower cap, cotton buds. A powerful shower over the bath, so the option for a bath or shower. A heated mirror with dimmable light and even a wall mounted toothbrush charger! The staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed reading in the comfortable lounge and a drink from the well stocked bar. We also experienced a delicious and very affordable meal in the restaurant and the great choice of breakfast in the morning. As already stated, excellent value for money and we can't wait to book our next visit.

The staff were always very welcoming and helpful. I think they are the best asset of this hotel. The location is very good in the Lakes District, between Windermere and Ambleside, and set back from the road, so quiet. The hotel was very clean, with contemporary furnishings. A good choice at breakfast, the food was excellent and served without much of a wait. We loved visiting the highland cattle behind the hotel and seeing them up close.
The evening dinner in the 2 AA Rosette restaurant was a bit of a let down. We had dinner included in the package for our stay for one of the nights. The food was a disappointment and overpriced if we had paid the roughly £60 each for 3 courses to eat there. The beds are firm but we still had a decent night's sleep.

Good location nice room staff were really trying hard
Dinner food was very average. Too many yappy dogs. Wine too expensive.

Hotel was immaculately clean and considering all rooms are dog friendly, very impressive. Have stopped in loads of other dog friendly hotels and you know you are in a 'Dog friendly' room (bit ropey),absolutely not the case at Briery Wood. Staff were really welcoming and friendly, treated us all really well and couldn't do enough to help. Location was lovely and quiet and the beds are really comfortable. Lovely decor all over the hotel. All in all a lovely stay, will be recommending to friends and obviously we will be back.
Nothing.

The rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was lovely and all members of staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, everyone seemed to go out of their way for us. A dog friendly hotel which we didn't mind at all (but understand this might not be for everyone). Lovely gardens and a farm which backs onto the hotel. The bar had a good selection of drinks Free parking and good for people who like to hike.
Bit far away from anything but that was our fault for not checking- on the plus side there was a taxi service we used regularly to go into Windemere and Ambleside.

I have stayed a few times and I enjoy everything about this hotel. The staff are super friendly and very welcoming .. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and the rooms are very comfy and the restaurant food is spot on and nicely presented. The location is very hardy for Ambleside or Bowness etc .. I have recommended friends and they enjoyed their experience too.
The access into the hotel drive can be a bit tricky when the traffic is at peak times but otherwise easy and straightforward.

The staff were really lovely ,especially Eshitha who went the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible and we really appreciated that. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained . Our room was spacious and so was the bathroom. We ate in the bar and the food didn't disappoint, it was well presented piping hot and not over priced. The breakfast was first rate and there was plenty of it. The grounds are well kept and pretty. The car park is large and is close to the reception. The location of the hotel is ideal for getting to all of the things the Lakes have to offer.
Nothing our stay was very relaxing with no problems at all.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Nicely furnished & comfortable lounge area. Our bedroom was spacious, a comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom modern with shower over bathtub, lots of natural light from skylight window. Housekeeping very efficient & room cleaning complete whilst we had breakfast, no intrusion on privacy. Beautiful garden area with outdoor seating.
The dining room was very pleasant with a garden view. The breakfast was served in a friendly & timely manner and was a fair standard. However we ate in the restaurant on Friday & Saturday evenings we were a little disappointed on the Saturday very few people eating there and our meals weren’t the best. A bar menu option would have been nice.
