Located in the Rydal Valley and within easy walking distance of Ambleside. The Economy King-size room was spacious with seating, vanity table and a wardrobe. There was also a mini fridge although we switched it off to aid a more peaceful night's sleep without it's background noise. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom had modern fittings with a combined shower and bath. The breakfast was very good offering the Full English as well as vegan options.
The room could do with blackout blinds unless you enjoy starting your day early with the sunrise

The building is a beautiful piece of history. One area of the gardens has become a little overgrown but after talking to the owners about the story of the place. I’m excited for our next visit. The breakfast was a great start to our day. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The bedroom was clean warm and recently updated. The bathroom was clean and updated. The shower was more powerful than I expected given the age of the building. What a delightful place to stay. I highly recommend.
The bacon was a little underdone for my liking but that could have been resolved with a request. So it’s on me

Between Rydal and Ambleside meant perfect location for walking into Ambleside as well as easy to get out into the mountains. The view of mountains out the window was amazing especially with the bathtub looking out at fells! I'd recommend the four poster bedroom to anyone and next time we are in the lake district we will be rebooking. The hosts were super accommodating as we were much later than checkin (to the point we offered to book a hotel on route) but so accommodating and amazing!
There was nothing to dislike.

Perfect views overlooking the mountains, extremely picturesque & peaceful with beautiful grounds. Huge bedroom, bathroom & sitting room. The bed was perfect for my partner who’s 6ft2 & one of the comfiest we’ve slept in. Normal we struggle finding rooms with big beds. We could literally both starfish and still have loads of room. The shower was fantastic, very powerful. Unfortunately we fell asleep before we could soak in the whirlpool bath on both nights, due to the extensive walks. Everything was so clean, really didn’t want to leave.
There wasn’t anything, it is perfect

We had a very comfortable stay with a superb view out of the bedroom window - looking towards the Fairfield Horseshoe and surrounding countryside. Room was spacious & clean as was the ensuite bathroom. It was conveniently situated for going walking or getting a bus and the buses were at regular intervals and so that allowed us not to use the car! Breakfast was very good with a good choice on the menu. Staff & owners were very helpful and pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would return on another occasion.
Nothing springs to mind! Room got a little warm but a heater/fan was provided but chose not to use it.

Excellent breakfast and choice. Location was just as we wanted off the main road and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Nice and quiet. Just a short walk into town.
Nothing.

The location is impossible to beat. Far enough out that it’s quiet and peaceful, but close enough to easily wander into the town of Ambleside or make your way to hiking paths without the need for a car. There is a bus stop that services the 555 and 599 lines a short 5-6 minute walk down the road, making even the surrounding areas of Grasmere, Keswick, Windermere, etc. commutable with ease.
The beds and pillows were a bit hard for my liking, but that’s entirely objective

Crow How is slightly out of the busy town centre but within a leisurely 20 minute walk. Jill and Andrew were friendly and answered any questions we may have had. The offer of a one hour parking permit for the public car park in town was very appreciated. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed with the bathroom in an adjacent room and a view of the grazing lands and hills. Breakfast was ample with a number of selections to suit any taste. A wonderful stay was had. Thank you.

15 minute walk from ambleside. 30 minute walk from Rydal caves. Room warm and comfortable Excellent breakfast choices as well. Cumbria breakfast and eggs benedict kept me well fed before a walk into the lakes If you do go for a walk into ambleside late make sure you bring a torch. Road not super well lit

The bed was really comfortable. We liked that it had a fridge. The room was really clean and quiet . The breakfast was very tasty and served fast . The decor was beautiful. The grounds and views were picturesque and we were right on the outskirt of ambleside It was just a really nice stay . Would stay again for sure .
The only small thing that we could fund as a tiny issue but not a major one anyway. Is that breakfast is quite late . But it didn't matter to us too much as we were served very fast which made up for the late start
