Centrally located in the village. Very clean, modern, comfortable room. Very handy to have the pub downstairs - great food and good service. We stayed during the week, and pub wasn't noisy.

Rooms were quite small (hard to fit in two large suitcases) and over-heated. You have to climb stairs to the rooms.

Location was fab, dog friendly and a great atmosphere, and I couldn’t hear any bar noise from my room as some people had left this comment on previous feedback

The staff were all amazing. Extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was very nice for an evening meal, I had salmon & caper risotto it was lovely. I liked the decor of the bar, last time I visited it was a sports bar, it now has a nice ambience.

Somebody else had put in their review that the fan in the bathroom was constantly on. It was. It kept me awake at night. I was a bit baffled as to how it was triggered. Mine at home is triggered by the light being on. The lack of sleep would stop me staying again which is a shame as I really enjoyed the bar area and food.

Decor in rooms and pub were lovely and the beds were super comfortable. Great Location too.

The 50 minutes it took to get breakfast from ordering. I would suggest asking customers to book a time slot to stagger orders. Dogs at breakfast barking and the owners not being asked to remove the dogs when they wouldn't stop. If a human was making that much noise it would be expected they were removed to calm down. Was like eating breakfast in a kennels at time. Appreciate it's a dog friendly pub which is fine, bit owners should be asked to remove their dogs once they have repeatedly barked

Felt like maybe it was a bit too busy for the staff on the shift We could only see one serving drinks and food Stood in the queue for 10 minutes as soon as we finished food hoping to order dessert only to be told kitchen has closed 2 minutes before we manage to get the top of the queue and to the bar

Single room was super lovely and clean. You have full control of the radiators and it was so warm even on a chilly day Everything I wanted as a solo traveller. Really dog friendly and the staff were lovely

I’d like the deadlocks to be working (I think they have been taken off as I have stayed here in a different room and it was the same), if I was totally alone I would have been more bothered but I had my dog so felt nice and safe still. The hotel is lovely and safe though- it’s just I prefer to know my door is locked from the inside too.

Comfortable bed and cosy room although a little small. Staff were friendly. The bar area is very nice and cosy with a good selection of beet.

Our room was not cleaned during in our stay. Not a huge problem as it was only 2 nights but unusual that it wasn’t done especially as when we left in the morning, housekeeping were cleaning the room next door. The continental breakfast was a little mixed, yoghurt and croissants one day but not the next. Cooked breakfast was good though.

perfect location and lovely atmospheric pub on the ground floor, lovely breakfast each day, staff were more than excellent, room was very clean and had a lovely view of the fells, nicely decorated

the room was very hot - window could only be opened a small ammount - AC needed for summer months

Great location, in the centre of a lovely place, with access to good walks without getting in the car much. The staff were very welcoming of our staffy dog and she got lots of attention. Staff were really lovely and helpful. A lovely visit, with the bonus of the sun shining for 4 days!

Some common areas could do with a more regular vacuum, and be aware that the road directly outside is quite busy and the path is narrow.

the check in process could be improved, weren’t told any information like how to get back in when they’re shut at night, when breakfast was , as there were three different times in the room eg. on menus , and info booklets etc, nor did we get offered any help taking the bags up the many stairs that there were. we were just pointed roughly in the direction of the room
