Decor in rooms and pub were lovely and the beds were super comfortable. Great Location too.

The 50 minutes it took to get breakfast from ordering. I would suggest asking customers to book a time slot to stagger orders. Dogs at breakfast barking and the owners not being asked to remove the dogs when they wouldn't stop. If a human was making that much noise it would be expected they were removed to calm down. Was like eating breakfast in a kennels at time. Appreciate it's a dog friendly pub which is fine, bit owners should be asked to remove their dogs once they have repeatedly barked

Single room was super lovely and clean. You have full control of the radiators and it was so warm even on a chilly day Everything I wanted as a solo traveller. Really dog friendly and the staff were lovely

I’d like the deadlocks to be working (I think they have been taken off as I have stayed here in a different room and it was the same), if I was totally alone I would have been more bothered but I had my dog so felt nice and safe still. The hotel is lovely and safe though- it’s just I prefer to know my door is locked from the inside too.

The pub is really nice, location is great, the room had everything we needed

The room was on the last floor and had only 1 very small window that could only be opened to 10cm which made the room dark and not well aerated. The mattress was too soft (but this is the standard in England from my experience), pillows were uncomfortable. Price was way too high (it was a summer sunny weekend last moment reservation)

Centre of town, albeit a small town. The breakfast was fantastic - full English, plus the buffet items. Food was good, but we had to book a dinner slot as it’s a busy pub too. Even though the pub was busy, we didn’t hear the noise from downstairs in our room.

Car parking was difficult - around a 5 minute walk, if you park in the right one! Have to park on a double yellow line whilst dropping bags - there’s no standing room. Bathroom layout was odd - toilet bowl faced the wall and my knees touched the wall whilst using the toilet!

Location was good, very friendly staff. Soft bed. Clean bathroom.

Not much information about breakfast when we arrived. Just told the times but not how it works with ordering and what we can have as the menus have prices on them so had to ask to be assured that we wouldn’t be charged for it. No parking on site had to use the local car park and would have been nice to have some more detailed information on that when receiving the email about your stay.

Brilliant choice for breakfast, everything you could want & more, hotel is in a very convenient location. Great view from our room window, we even saw the typhoons fly past.

A slightly larger bed would have been great for us as we are used to a king but we didn’t dislike the room for this reason it just would have been a better option for us.

The pub is modern and clean but has an old traditional feel to it. The bathroom was modern and tidy. Bedroom did feel a little dated but this was not a problem. Great location, you cant get more central in Ambleside. Great selection of breakfasts and staff were very accommodating. Parking reasonably priced within walking distance. Staff were kind and accommodating. Good value for money.

Was a nice stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful and couldn’t have done more for us. Food was great too.

The only reservation was we stayed on the ground floor of the cottage. And with it being an old building you could literally hear every footstep and creek in the floor from upstairs. Probably didn’t help that the people above couldn’t sit still and sound like they were throwing things around the room and decided to do it either late at night or 5 in the morning.

The location is excellent, but the room has single pane windows so you can hear the road below. It’s not a busy road, but if you’re a light sleeper used to no noise, it might disturb you. You get tea and coffee in the room and some biscuits. The room was clean!

There is no parking at the property despite the listing showing parking. The closest car park is a 5 min walk down the road, so not too bad.

This stay exceeded our expectations! The staff were top of our list - helpful, attentive, charming, friendly and cheerful! The room was great with a very nice bed and bathroom. Good breakfast and a free pint if we didn’t want our room serviced. Right in the middle of town by the bus stop for trips and close to nice shops, cafes and walks. Absolutely lovely stay … those staff have done you proud!
