Andy was a great host. Everyday at breakfast it was important to connect with Andy and get some ideas for our day's schedule. It was nice to form a trusting bond to start the day off well at a good, solid English breakfast. The hotel had parking because it is hard to find car park for a long stay. The location was perfect because it was a close walk to the Roman site and the boat dock as well as the bus station and the city. It was a friendly place with a very convenient location.

This was a great place for me as a single traveler. The room was perfect. It had a nice little en suite bathroom and a comfortable bed. Andy, the proprietor, was awesome! He took very good care of my “special needs.” I had to store a bike while I was there and he was very accommodating. He also provided me with a little extra heater when I couldn’t get warm. (I can’t seem to get warm in this English climate!) It was great to start each day with a warm breakfast. It’s a communal breakfast room, so it was fun to meet and talk with other travelers each morning. The location is super! You can get to anything in Ambleside with a short walk. The bus stop is right around the corner and that makes traveling to other area towns and villages much easier. It’s a great place to stay. I highly recommend!

This is a very minor thing, but it would have been nice to have more variety on the breakfast front. The breakfasts were very good, but they were the same every morning.

Our host, Andy, was delightful and diligent. The breakfast was generous. The room and facilities clean and comfortable. The location within the town was central and convenient. We are also very pleased that we chose to stay in Ambleside because if its central location in the Lake District. 3 Cambridge Villas has a free parking arrangement with the Ambleside Football Club and is around the corner from the bus stop which connects you with all local towns.

You both were absolutely fabulous, made us feel right at home. The property was a great location too. The room was a modest size, with everything you needed. Breakfast was served hot and with the choice of tea or coffee. We’d choose to stay here again when we hopefully make another trip to the Lakes :) idyllic!!

Nothing really to say! Maybe a suggestion to offer an option to tumble dry clothes? We stayed for 4 nights and practically the whole trip it poured with rain with one burst of sunshine, of course to be expected in the Lake District. But could be a nice option for travellers :)

Fantastic location, 2 minutes walk to town, restaurants and bars. Excellent breakfast with great options. Room perfect for short break with everything you could need. Andy is an incredible host with nothing being too much trouble. I have no hesitation in recommending Cambridge Villas and will certainly try to book again when returning to Ambleside.

The parking situation in Ambleside is a bit chaotic but reasonable costs if lucky to be able to hire a parking spot. My bad for not realising that Andy could have provided parking.

Exceptional King Room. Very large and beautifully furnished. Better than most of the ones we have stayed at, including the bigger hotel chains. Host is incredibly friendly and helpful. Location is ideal for all the facilities in Ambleside and also for the bus station to travel around the lakes.

Nothing to not like.

Our host Andy was very kind and helpful. Breakfast selection was variable enough and tasty with plenty of tea and coffee. The room was cozy, one would say a bit little. But this wasn't a big deal as we were out whole day. Even if our room was oriented to bus stops we haven't heard any noise from outside. Overall we were very satisfied and would love to come back.

Nothing significant to complain about.

I found Andy to be very helpful when I had to delay my booking and once I arrived I was greeted with my keys, shown to my room and informed of breakfast timings. I was out for the day with a walking group and was offered a car pass for the local football ground which saved me parking fees. Great breakfast and comfortable room.

Nothing I didn’t like about the property

The breakfast was fine liked you could have cooked or continental , room was enough for two people , location was good , and great because no dogs that was one if the main reasons we choose the Cambridge

Everything about the Cambridge was fine with us value for money , a couple of rainy days but it didn’t spoil our stay , only complaint far to many shops and pubs restaurants let dogs in 👎

Clean. Central. Friendly staff. Hot weather but a fan was provided. Andy very helpful. Nice touches, like recycling bin and water provided. Good hearty breakfast for days walking or swimming or whatever. Very near central bus stop and lots of great eating places.
