Great room , spotlessly clean with a large well equipped bathroom Comfortable beds, fresh white linen and towels in a quiet position Location suited us , nice selection of restaurants, cafes, pubs and coffee shops on our doorstep, and a twenty minute walk into Bowness if you want a more lively atmosphere The property is also on the main bus route which is very convenient for Bowness and also further afield to grasmere for just £3 The B&B provides an excellent breakfast. Fresh fruit and fruit salad, croissants, crumpets , cereal, and home made granola. Filter coffee is available, along with fruit juice. The main offering is a full English which exceeded my expectations but the team are happy to provide porridge , poached eggs and lighter combinations on request

The hotel was clean and warm throughout our stay. The staff were extremely friendly and exceptionally helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.There was a generous amount of complimentary tea and coffee plus biscuits in the room.The breakfast was wholesome with lots of choice with hot and cold food available. There was ample car parking. The hotel is on the main road and easy to access by car and public transport which is virtually on the door step. It is very close to Windermere Village and a ten minute walk away from Bowness On Windermere. Our stay was fabulous value for money and we really appreciated our lucky find on Booking.com. We will be back in the future.

There was nothing that we didn't like about the hotel.

Not only is it very close to the town, but it is also very clean, has a nice breakfast, and has friendly staff.

This place is British hospitality perfection. Dog friendly hotel. There was a dog at breakfast and it was the perfect ice breaker for us all to start chatting to each other in the breakfast room. The breakfast was fabulous, I was so full afterwards. My room was very basic, no frills but I did get it for a very reasonable price. I had a great sleep. The lady I spoke to at breakfast seamed to have a much fancier room (paid more) so something for everyone here. I used the leisure centre facilities, v nice but a 12 min drive away so you must have a car. I would definitely come back if I was to return to Windermere.

Amazing location, right next to the high street but it was quiet at night. Breakfast had lots of choice and mostly self service, with some hot food to order. My room faced lots of trees which was very peaceful. There's a quiet street that leads straight down to the lakeside (a bit less than a mile) and once you're down there the views are breathtaking. It's a bit steep and sometimes uneven ground so should be a bit sure footed.

The walls are very thin so if people are talking you will hear it all. My first night this was a problem but the second night it was quiet. The coffee was not to my taste, but I'm sure most people are happy with it.

The whole stay was absolutely exceptional. Check in couldn’t have been easier. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, happy to help with anything. Very welcoming to my dogs. I was very surprised that this beautiful BnB let dogs stay as it’s so clean and pristine I was worried my two would mess it up after walking around the lakes. The wonderful staff just gave me extra towels to dry them off. The breakfast was delicious and the room itself was beautiful. A lot of effort has been put in by the people who run this place. Very much appreciated. They have literally thought of everything and treat every guest as an individual. 5 star luxury at a very affordable price.

Nothing I didn’t like

We really loved the communication with the landlady Helenor before we arrived, she was so helpful and so accommodating particularly when she informed us about the leisure facilities that they provided which we used and loved it. We were checked in before our time the greeting from John when we arrived was second to none. John was so pleasant and couldn't be any more helpful. We would so recommend this place as the cleaniness was superb and the location was spot on. The breakfast was delicious and the options at breakfast was varied and suited all diets. My favourite was Helenor's personality, she had a lovely way about her and the flapjacks with purple edible flowers were so delicious too. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night.

Second year I've stayed here and very impressed. This year stayed in room 2 on the ground floor. -welcoming staff -super pet friendly -great location -lots of storage -amazing shower -spacious room and bathroom

Wi-Fi better than last year but still not great and cut out. -bag storage fee of £5 -breakfast starts at 8 and runs until 9:30. This needs to start earlier for early risers, and run longer so that the small dining area isn't cramped. -vent in the bathroom dusty -random black paint stains in the bathroom

Hotel is a perfect location - 2 minute walk into Windermere and 15 minute walk to Bowness. Plenty of parking spaces. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Room was clean and bed comfy with a lovely window seat. We visited the sister hotel to use the pool and sauna and it was worth the 18 minute drive as a lovely setting and opportunity to use their pool facilities and sister hotel has a nice bar and restaurant. We had our dog with us and the hotel was very dog friendly and the dog enjoyed his morning sausage :-)

I chose this place for the parking facility and free breakfast. I was mighty impressed by this breakfast - very filling with a choice of hot and cold - as you'd have it at home - ideal for a family and if you are planning a long day of walks. The best I've experienced in the Lakes so far. The location was ideal for access to buses and nearby walking trails.. I would recommend it. Staff were available when required. We didn't really use the drawers and wardrobe, etc, as we were out most of the day. Great overall.
