It is in a very good location—about a minute from the centre of Windemere and a lovely twenty-minute walk down to Bowness. There is also a main bus stop nearby for those wanting to go further afield. Great for solo travellers or couples. The owners were really friendly and helpful during my stay. The room had everything I required for my stay and was serviced each morning. The full English breakfast was excellent.

Parking on Broad Street is quite tricky as there are a lot of guest houses and limited on-street parking. If you plan simply to park the car and leave it for the entirety of your stay, then you should not have too much trouble parking (though probably not directly outside unless you are fortunate). If you plan on driving daily to other places, be aware you might struggle with parking. Note this would also be true of many other guest houses in that area.

Easy to reach from the railway station. A 30-minute walk to the lake (or take the bus). I got a cosy room in the attic with an impeccably clean, perfectly equipped bathroom. Kettle, tea and ingredients prepared. Jo is the nicest host one can imagine. I forgot about the plug adapter between my continental plug and the British wall socket; she fetched one (and another one for my USB cable). You get an English breakfast at its best. Look at the dining room, and you feel: it is the place you need.

The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was really comfortable, it’s in a great location and within easy walk to most attractions, restaurants and local shops. The breakfast was delicious and cooked really well, Jo was very warm, welcoming and friendly she even wished my partner a happy birthday when she realised it was his birthday she seems lovely and such a kind host we would 100% recommend Westbury House to anyone visiting Windermere.

The location was excellent. The host was lovely and breakfast was really nice and fresh each morning. The bed was comfortable and the small shower room was modern and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here and it's very central for the town, buses and trains

There is no parking however we did get parked a couple of streets away. There is a pay and display car park across the road from the house you can use for £7 per night. My Little TV was very high on top of the wardrobe. The only mirror was a small swivel one which I also had to put on the wardrobe to see but these were only little things as the room was small and cosy and clean.

The hostess is very sweet, we felt very welcome immediately. The room was big enough for us and very comfortable, it had everything we could've needed and was cleaned every day, and the breakfast was delicious and had options also for those who didn't want full english. The house is very central and close to stores and the train station, which is amazing if you're traveling by train. Would definitely stay there again in the future!

This was a great stay in a good location in Windermere, close to lots of shops, restaurants and close to the bus stop/train station. The house itself was very nice with some cool decor. The room was cozy, clean and with good amenities like tea/coffee. The bathroom was also clean, with Shampoo, Shower gel and a decent warm shower. The host Jo was amazing and very informative and the breakfast was decent with a choice of full english, bacon butty or cereals. Highly recommended

Perfect location in the heart of Windermere. Host was very welcoming and friendly. Free on road parking if you’re lucky enough to find a space. Limited EV charging in expensive car park opposite.

Very steep narrow stairs to Room 5 on top floor. Attic room with very low beam and my head got very friendly with it on numerous occasions. Cooked breakfast was ok but a bit sparse on portions. Limited choice of cereals of which as a diabetic there were none I could eat.

Friendly and Helpful! Jo was very welcoming on my arrival, she made me feel comfortable. Jo explained where the room was, facilities available, times of breakfast and checking out time! She also explained about the handbook in the room. When I said I was going on a six lakes tour, she gave me a booklet showing where it was from the B&B and how to get there, also recommended some lovely places to eat. I really enjoyed my stay there, if in the area again I will definitely book here!

Really convenient location just a short walk from Windermere station and with a nice easy walk to Bowness and well connected by bus. Jo was a very professional and friendly host and the breakfast (full vegetarian English courtesy of Al) was tasty and filling ahead of a long day of walking. The bed was super comfortable. I would definitely stay again and recommend Westbury House particularly to solo travellers (like me) and couples. I

The location was perfect for us in the centre of town but also 10-15m from the lake. Jo was the best host and couldn’t do enough for us! Clean cosy room (we were in room 5 at the top of the stairs) if you have lots of luggage or don’t want to climb many stairs don’t pick that room. We loved that we had an en-suite bathroom too. And the breakfast was exactly what we needed before our walking and paddle boarding!
