Very clean and cosy room, with attention to detail, nicely decorated. Really felt as a home away from home. Brittany our host was lovely and was very approachable if we had any questions or little problems we wanted help with. The location is super practical: restaurants, shops and the bus/train station are all within walking distance. Particularly ideal if your travel to the Lake District without a car like us. Nice little extra is that the guest house allows you to use BBC iPlayer on the television. We really enjoyed watching crime/dramaseries on demand in the evening, when returning from our walks in the beautiful countryside. We would be very happy to stay here again.

The water pressure isn't the best in the shower, but the host left really good instructions (pictures and written) how to make the most of the electric shower heater, that made a big difference.

stayed here for three nights. The location is good, close to Windermere station. you can walk to this house, no need to take a bus. Many eateries and shop close to it. The room is quite big, very clean, and It has a TV, a fridge, sofa, table, coffee maker, a clothes iron. The owner provided two stuffed toys to accompany you, one is Peter rabbit, another is his friend Flosy. So, you will stay with them. The place is quiet, and very beautiful decorated. If you are fancy on Peter rabbit, Windermere and Hill Top is a must visit place. To go to Hill top, you must take a bus to Bowness, first ferry, then mountain goat bus to there. There is a bus stop close to Bonnie Brae House, you can take it to Bowness, so very convenient, highly recommended!

The building was all beautifully done. It was freshly pained and carpeted with a very nice soft carpet and tastefully decorated. Inside our room, there were all the facilities you normally have in a hotel: minibar, toiletries, beautiful towels, comfortable bedding, coffee and tea, even ironing board! The building was very quiet, although bank holiday weekend. Just a bit of noise came from the road, but this was because our window was open. The location was excellent, lots of nice cafes and restaurants around, excellent access to public transport. The communication with our host was excellent too.

Nothing, from my point of view, all was perfect.

Bonnie Brae House saved us from sleeping in our car all night. We booked the first thing we could find and my goodness what a surprise we got. It was the most gorgeous and cosy find. We are so grateful for their hospitality, help and advice. A total gem and an unforgettable experience for us.

Location was great for lovely walks and bars/restaurants. Check in was easy, with all info given by host and key in lock box. Enjoyed a coffee from the coffee machine in the morning and sitting on the terrace for a drink. Close to the beautiful view point orrest head, amazing views of the lake, a must see.

The room is quite compact, which was fine for us, but if you spent a long time in there maybe on the small side for some. However, the terrace outside is spacious so if the weather is ok, plenty of space to sit there and we didnt spend a lot of time in the room as we were out exploring the beautiful surroundings.

Location was excellent, we even managed to find a free parking space with unlimited time for parking in broad street (I think they are hard to come by). Bed was super comfy, really easy self check in. Clean house and bedroom. Just what we needed for a 1 night stay. Furnished well and a nice modern oak furniture. Thank you for our stay!

The fridge was quite noisy so disruptive for sleep. The bathroom mirror was very low. I’m 5’7 and could only see my chin at the top of the mirror and could step back for the shower. So I had to bend down to see in it. (My husband is 6’4 😂) The bathroom light flickers after a couple of minutes (could do with being fixed). Overall these are very picky negatives that can all be easily fixed. There was no major issues, we enjoyed our stay!

Location was great, nicely renovated property, well set up system. The terrace would have been great if the weather would have allowed it. Also communication with the owner was very good when we needed to leave our luggage there in our last day.

The size of the room and of the bed which were misleading on the room description at the time of booking. The size said 23m2 but this room is tiny basically hardly any place around a tiny queen sized bed, not sure it’s even 12m2. Same for the bathroom. We were two friends and clearly we wouldn’t have booked if this was made clear in the description.

Excellent - everything you need for a break and very clean (the one thing I always look for)! Starbucks coffee pods, hot chocolate, tea and water in the fridge. Location was great and John the owner let us check in early, which was a bonus as it was raining. I had read a couple of reviews about breakfast, but the booking made it clear it wasn’t included, with it being bang in the centre it’s surrounded by cafes. I would recommend home ground for breakfast, that’s where we went….it was beautiful

The location was great, the room was lovely and clean. We were visiting for a wedding over the bank Holiday weekend. All of the taxi companies were fully booked, and the owner went out of his way to drop us off at the wedding!
