Wonderful location, lovely breakfast and the staff in the dining room were really pleasant and helpful.

The room was too hot and bar service around the hotel was lacking. A beautiful conservatory and no waiters to take drinks orders or clear tables etc….gave the impression of lack of staff?

Breakfast was brilliant. Dinners were mostly good. It was good that the chef agreed to make minor changes when requested. The room was excellent, clean and comfortable. The staff were all helpful, friendly., especially Ella, who was superb.

It would have been nice to have more variance in the menus most nights. The knives were all blunt, even the steak knife given to me one night. The barman in the bar was a bit of a misery. There was dirt, cork or something in my wife's glass of red wine one night and he suggested he could pour the wine into another glass. As she'd only had a sip, we said no, we wanted a fresh glass of wine, that should have been what he offered anyway.

Location , hotel itself and venue was exceptional, staff we friendly and helpful at most times but our evening meal was completely ruined , it was a special event for us hence the booking at this hotel , we waited 30 mins once seated for our food order to be taken , then a further 40 minutes until it arrived. We both had a fish dish each , mine sea bass and my partners was cod Loin , we started to eat but my partner very quickly realised that her fish tasted very funny , the smell it was omitting wasn’t good either not only fishy but like it was bad … on inspection it had gone off ! Terrible stench We alerted staff who immediately took her meal away and offered an alternative. Unfortunately she felt ill at the stench of the fish and her appetite was ruined , I asked for my dish to be removed as I felt it rude and uncaring to eat alone in front of her. We gave it a little time , then ordered a cheese board and a glass of port in the hope it would remove the foul aftertaste left in her pallet. We would have expected the chef to come and apologise but nothing and although staff were apologetic when they took her meal away there was no other offer of apology. The following morning we went down for breakfast , again we were disappointed as the girl serving us was unhelpful, rude at times and breakfast not only took 40 mins to arrive, once it did it was very sparse compared to other establishments we had visited that week with a much lower price tag . Upon check out I had to speak to management regarding the evening meal and make it clear that that dish that was removed be removed from our bill . It was but it was the only offer of apology i do feel that we should of had further reductions as it ruined our romantic getaway and our whole experience that evening.

The hotel was more than we expected, beautiful building in beautiful surroundings. We were amazed with sunroom/conservatory which run the length of the building with beautiful furniture. A lovely place to have a coffee/drink. We loved the breakfast, staff so attentive, fresh food to order which is rare in this day and age, tea and coffee brought to your table by the staff. The continental breakfast was excellent, varied and plentiful. Due to the limited menu we did not dinner, we chose to eat out. The room we were allocated was 315, Pleasant and spacious, however, it overlooked what appears to be the tradesmen's entrance, the noise started around 0630 hrs. the noise in the evening went on until about 2200 hrs, this appears to be the barmen getting rid of bottles, on top of this the night porter tried to get into our room not once but twice, second time he actually got the door open!!! The Spa facilities and swimming pool were excellent.

The service from the staff was amazing… not a bad word to say about anyone. The bed was super comfy and the spa was brilliant! The views and the vibes were so relaxing.

The only downside to it is that I expected more for the breakfast, the menus got taken from us so we couldn’t order anything twice from the menu. The traditional breakfast you got wasn’t massive ( one little sausage, no hash brown etc) working in a seaside hotel I understand the basics and the continental was good and the food did taste good just for the price I was expecting more and the room itself was a little outdated… just needs a bit of redesigning.

Hotel located right on the side of lake windamere so great views from the hotel conservatory of the lake or your room if you get a lake facing room we didn't. Our room it's self was comfortable no view as mentioned. Room quite dated looking for my own personal preferences. Reasonably clean only a few cobwebs around the cornersof the room. Bed was comfortable. Pool gym sauna jacuzzi all spot on. Breakfast included but full English breakfast on the skimpy side comes with 1 half sized sausage & only 1 poached egg. If you have a big appetite it won't be enough. Other than that everything else was fine buffet style. The food in the restaurant was also quite expensive in my opinion. Steak sandwich and fries £20. Staff were helpful and friendly all in all we enjoyed our stay. 👍

We have been looking forward to staying here again after 20 years (it was my 30th on my last visit). The room was immaculate and loved the view but unfortunately from the point in which we arrived in the room there was constant drilling in the wall next door (room 101) which went on for a couple of hours then started again from around 10am the next morning. We paid premium prices for a lovely room and sadly tarnished our experience after wanting to come back for several years. My Mum is 83 and needed the break after losing one of her much loved pets and unfortunately found the noise unacceptable and distracting to the point in which we couldn’t hear each other speak. For a one night stay it wasn’t worth complaining about at the time as this would have further limited our time in the room. Apart from this the room was clean and very classy, sadly we will always be reminded of the noise when we think back to our visit.

The whole building was beautiful,lovely chandeliers, furniture. The grounds ,gardens with spectacular view of the lake. Our room was very nice ,clean and tidy with lakeside view. Nice evening meal in brasserie, although a little expensive.

I would of liked a non slip bath mat .Toiletries on bath side for people wanting g a bath. All toiletries up high for shower users. Difficult to get up and sit down in bath after o training shower gel etc. Staff left us some after talking too reception.

Beautiful location, beautiful hotel inside and out. Staff were attentive, polite and professional. The rooms were clean and decorated to fit the hotels original character, but with a nice modern bathroom. It had a lovely conservatory area that overlooked the lake, where you could sit and have drinks and snacks. Spa access from 7am-7pm was perfect after a days walking with a large pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Had a bit of an issue with the food in the brasserie but the waiters couldn't apologisr enough and rectified the problem quickly.

The spa and pool area was quite slippery, and the chlorine in the pool was a bit intense. My eyes still stung the next day. Wasn't keen on the breakfast set up, Juice and toast orders are taken before you've even sat down, then by the time they come to take hot breakfast order the toast is stone cold, but thats probably just me being fussy and still didn't take away from the fantastic staff and the quality of our stay.

The location was stunning, and we were lucky with sunny weather. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was pleasant and well maintained. The food was very good and well presented.

The room was very warm and as there was no radiator to turn down we had a window open 24/7 in order to be comfortable. There was a fan in the room but we didn't use it as it would have been noisy at night and the window was adequate . The bathroom fan appeared to stay on for too long after the light was turned off. Only small details really.
