Overall the place is amazing very handy for the train station. The staff are really friendly polite and helpful nothing was to much trouble. I had a fabulous room very clean warm and comfortable. The Breakfast and dinner was exceptional with a full Menu choice of meals I would certainly recommend the chefs special. The feeling in the place has a very warm, inviting welcoming, relaxing feel to it. I wouldn't hesitate staying there again it would be my first choice and I would certainly recommend to family and friends.
I should have got a Taxi from the train station plenty waiting outside the station. Although the place is only 5 min walk away it is up a very steep hill. 'Well it is in the Lakes'

It was a comfortable and large size room. The lady that owns / runs the place was very friendly and hospitable. There was a nice cooked breakfast with nice quality produce. In walking distance from the train station. I would stay again.
This is not so much the place just more unfortunate for us that the people next door were quite noisy with their dogs. Standing in the hallway right next to our door and because of where the bed is placed it felt like they were a metre away from our heads. This happened several times as presumably they were taking their dogs out to toilet.

Gorgeous old inn which was lovely and cool on a hot summer's day due to the thick stone walls. Quiet and comfortable with plenty of space for 4 people in our room. Great children's play area and adjacent walk to the Helm for panoramic views of the area. Breakfast was freshly cooked and filling.
The door handle fell off! Just an old stiff door, but staff apologised and tried to fix as quickly as possible. Some of the other fixtures and fittings were past it too (e.g. curtain holders). No fridge in the room, but friendly place so I'm sure if you needed things kept cold you could ask.

We visited on our way to our Sons wedding in Scotland. We got there early in the day so we had lunch. This place will not disappoint ,the first thing we noticed was the incredible teamwork and enthusiasm of the staff to give first class service. Nothing was too much trouble. The food cooked to order was of a high quality. I had fish and chips ,the chips were crisp with even golden colour ,the fish was covered in a light golden batter served with garden peas .Not a drop of oil or grease on the plate .My wife had a cheese baked potato which was served with coleslaw and salad which was equally impressive in it's presentation. Our evening meal was also served with the same high standard of service in a really busy place. Our room with ensuite was well presented and comfortable ,clean with towels, plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was delightful with a good selection of cereal, fruit juice, and yogurt . The full English was delivered at the same high standard that came with the other meals that we had. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast which looked fantastic. I am a trained Chef and my wife was a silver service waitress so we know what we like. You will not be disappointed by a visit to the Station inn as the teamwork will make sure you have a very pleasant experience WELL DONE ALL AT THE STATION INN

We stayed in a lovely family room with a big comfy double bed and adjoining twin room with a curtain to separate. I also asked for a cot which was no trouble and was made up with bedding for us. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality. It was also convenient to be able to have dinner there on the night of our stay, and the food was delicious. There was also a play park outside which the kids enjoyed. Convenient location a few minutes drive from Kendal.
Sound travelled quite easily from the corridor (other guests going up and down the stairs etc)

Food was amazing, room was very spacious and lovely features. Grounds and outdoor space was fab with loads of areas to choose from outside to dine and have drinks. Lovely walks around the b&b for dogs. Very dog friendly in all areas and was made to feel very welcome even with dog. We have stayed at dog friendly places before but have never been made to feel fully welcome because we have a dog, but staying at the station inn you are made to feel part of it all though you have a dog. Fantastic place and will definately be staying again.

Lovely big room (family room), super huge and comfortable bed, water, tea and coffee provided in room. Very friendly staff. Beautiful easy walk to a lovely view starts right opposite the hotel. Quiet at night. Bike racks provided. Extremely handy for the rail station. All in all we really liked it apart from the breakfast (see below).
We would have like more healthy options at breakfast, it was a bit like the 1980s with Kellogs cereals in little boxes and a fry up. Eg natural yoghurt, fresh fruit, proper porridge (not the instant oats provided!), cheeses, decent bread and croissants (though I grant you they’re not healthy). I know many people like their traditional British breakfast but it’s not for us. As breakfast cost £12.50 each it was a disappointment after the rest of our stay. Would like decaf coffee in room.

The bedroom block was away from busy pub so nice and quiet. The room was very big and beautifully decorated. Lots of tea, coffee, milk, 3 cups and teaspoons, 3 glasses and a large bottle of tap water that can be refilled from outside tap. The TV is good size. 2 comfy chairs in the room a huge king size and a single bed. Breakfast served 8.30 - 9.30. Great choices. Yogurt, cereals, fruit juices Then 7 items to make your own breakfast. The produce is all locally sourced and tastes quality. We ate at the pub for evening meals. Excellent quality and chef cooked the meals to very high standard. We will be back...

Large room with comfy bed, own shower (over bath) and shower products/soap, friendly staff, good food (quantity, quality and value) in the pub downstairs, quiet room, easy check in and check out. Didn't get to try the breakfast as I had to leave early to catch my train. Choice of herb teas in the room as well as tea/coffee.
A covered area to leave my bike - there was bike parking but out in the rain. A couple of minor improvements - the door lock was a bit wonky on my room and the shower was OK if not especially powerful.

Everything had a great stay didn't want to leave. The staff and locals and everyone who works and lives there were very helpful, great service, great food, ect.... couldn't do enough for you. Very friendly also the dog is lovely and well behaved and very dog friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a break away in the lakes. It's so quite and has alot of good places to go and great scenery. Iv stayed in many places when away but this break was the best so far. Can't fault anything or any of my stay. Worth the money . I'm planing on going bk next year already and if there was bad weather you don't have to drive to a pub as everything all on site. Pub restaurant rooms ect.... Also it may look small from outside but it much bigger than u think. X
Everything couldn't fault it. It was the best time and holiday break x
