Last minute stop off for a night's sleep. Lovely room, comfortable bed - unfortunately the lift was out & awaiting repair (they were working on it as we departed the next morning). Bottles of water in room & nice tea/coffee tray. Particularly liked the sustainable skin friendly bathroom toiletries with information on the company. Impressed me greatly. The smell from the dining room when we arrived rather worse for wear were delicious - however we were so worn out from travelling sleep was the priority sadly & an early start meant we could not stay for a leisurely breakfast which looked fabulous - perhaps next time!

Just the stairs & that was out of anyone's control- unfortunate timing.

Nice location outside of the town but within walking distance. Very clean, smart room Nice breakfast Good facilities

We had requested a quiet room but were advised we would have to pay an extra 50 per night for a superior room. This was not in our budget so I asked for the quietest room they had for a small double which we had booked. The room wasn’t particularly small, was very nicely furnished and there was hardly any road noise . However we felt they had penalised us as the room was right at the top of the stairs where people went up and down and the room was in fact an interconnecting room ( locked door ) . We could hear almost every word the couple next door said through the door and they coughed persistently . We ended up whispering to each other. We didn’t go down to complain as we felt we would be further penalised. What a shame as it should have been a lovely stay.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they made it feel like a home away from home. The room was large and comfortable and the shared spaces were done up wonderfully for the holidays. A yummy breakfast, comfy beds, wonderful bath and shower facilities with good water pressure and most importantly kind and diligent staff who brightened up our day!

Some of the facilities were closed for winter which can't be helped and is nobody's fault. Some areas of the hotel needed a little maintenance but given the price point I thought it was great value for money! I will happily book again for another stay!!

The staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast had a lot of options, and was nice. Room was clean. Lots of hot drink options etc.

We didn't get a message before our stay to tell us the pool and other leisure facilities were closed, and we had booked that hotel specifically, despite it being a little further out, as we wanted one with a pool (and it had the best reviews). I only spotted this on the day we were going to arrive on the website but we hadn't been made aware before. The double bed is a small double, it was comfortable but small!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was fine. Good breakfasts.

Most of the facilities were unavailable due to building work. The photos on Booking.com bear little or no resemblance to the present, and in my opinion, are misleading. The pool is out of action, and the bar is much reduced, with no fireplace. The draft beer pumps were not working on the day we arrived. I felt sorry for the staff having to fend off questions. Also reduced size of car park was not ideal.

This hotel is well located at the very southern edge of Kendal which makes it easy to find. It’s great for exploring both the central Lake District & the south lakes. It’s very well appointed and our room, while compact which is clear in the description was more than comfortable for our stay. The hotel looks like it’s been recently refurbished and they are extending at the back (hidden away) to create more space. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend without reservation.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent. We managed to leave something in the room when we left and didn't realise for several days. When I phoned to see if it had been found the person I spoke to was very understanding, confirmed they had found the missing item and offering to post it back to us. There was building work in progress, so the carpark behind the hotel was closed and parking was quite limited. However the staff were very helpful, and we were able to park on site.

The food (four breakfasts and one dinner) was high quality with the hot breakfast cooked to order. The room was comfortable with a very big bed and modern bathroom. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The location was perfect for our needs.

The lift was out of order and, apparently, had been for a while. The paintwork was chipped and the windows in bad condition. Although all the staff were excellent, there was often only one person covering reception, breakfast service and issuing towels for the pool. None of these issues affected the quality of our own stay but they suggest that some investment is needed.

Highly recommend this wonderful hotel! All the staff are lovely and so welcoming, the service was excellent and the food was out of this world! We've just returned from our first time in the Lakes and this was the perfect base. We started off each day with the fabulous breakfast which really set us up for a day's hiking, then on return we had a dip in the pool, and a relax in the jacuzzi and steam room, ended with a nightcap in the lounge, perfect! Treated ourselves to a three course dinner here on our first night too, and it was amazing. One of the best meals we've had. Many thanks to all at Stonecross Manor for making our holiday such a memorable one.

Very cute decor looked lovely. Facilities were fab, booked due to having a pool and jacuzzi which were great after a day hiking. Staff were super friendly and helpful, always had big smiles on their faces. The place was clean throughout. Restaurant was very good quality tasty food. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast. Our room was great, had lovely views from our windows with a huge bed which was comfortable. Modern bathroom. Necessities provided such as soaps, hairdryer etc. Really enjoyed our stay, great value for money.

Only bad thing to say would be if using the pool facilities late afternoon there were swimming lessons on at the same time. Not major though.
